I haven't enjoyed a match this much in a while, it was VERY INTENSE to say the least. The 4th set was incredible from Turkiye, Karakurt serving, Asli blocking and Vargas spiking like a champion. I'm not mad at them losing today because this is week one of VNL and they're still trying different combinations with the girls, Santarelli is a genius, i don't doubt they're gonna be in the finals, he got Serbia to win last year's World Championship. Well done, girls. I just checked the schedule for next week and the strongest opponent is Poland as they haven't lost any match. Still, i'm sure Turkiye is gonna win. See you next week.

Last yeat brazil stopped the egonu and last Olympics serbia stopped the egonu with amazing defenses. with amazing team work everything is possible but if turkiye couldnt get the finals and serbia will,i will stand by my beloved bosskovic but i hope poland get through the finals. It’s pretty amazing USA newcomers were able to withstand the pressure from Turkey. Especially from Karakurt and Vargas. Team USA really is amazing!
In the statistics Turkey is so much better in this match than Usa, for example Usa 3 blocks Turkey 13, i really don't believe that they really lost...

She’s good but I just don’t like the way her spiking hand is already up there even before she hits the ball. Blockers won’t have a hard time guessing and blocking her outright.
In her first professional season 2022/2023 she played in France and averaged *18 points per game \ 4.8 - points per set \ 49% - ATTACK excellent % percentage* \ Also she was top scorer and MVP of the French Cup! She and her team won the French Cup! She was the top scorer of the Outside Hitter of all players in the league ranked 4th! Next season she will play in Italy for the team Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri.
And her sister is following her steps!

USA defence is insane!!! They always defence Vargas's spikes. And the 4th set was perfect. Karakurt came to serve and it goes 12-9 to 22-9. But in the end USA was good. It was a good match. Congrats to Usa ❤ as a Turkish.

I dont necessarily think this is a good thing. It means Turkey has some work to do on the OH position when Karakurt has to be an OH. But I guess the other argument is you put 2 big point scorers in the game.

I don't see it like that... Excitement is a good ingredient and it was valid in set 4, but not in set 5, that's where the smart tactics of this fantastic team from USA come in!

And USA sent a bigger message in set 5. In the end your set 4 don’t matter if you lose the match. This is USA mixed team with many of its C players! What message is that? Haha

I talked about Turkyie's performance in 4th set. If they serve well, and if they can receive properly like they did in that set, their setter can use their most powerful weapons properly and be extremely harmful to any team in the world (it is not common USA take a 25 - 11 score set, even with bench players)

I feel like this was the first time turkiye have actually met their match this week and it resulted in a fantastic game. I can't believe this is a junior USA team, I have never seen such a strong group of young stars. They also knew better than to leave Wong-orantes on the bench 😅
This was a fun match to watch, especially when Turkey made a comeback. It was unfortunate that their serve reception was not so great which led to them losing important points. USA's libero is amazing! I remember watching her in the Tokyo Olympics. I can't wait to see how these teams develop--especially Turkiye with Vargas added to the team. Hopefully Ogbogu joins the USA team for the VNL. I am a fan of her from VakifBank!
If doesn't matter if you lose this match, next time you Will defenitely go to the finals for turkish nasional team and win the 2023 vnl from Indonesia🇲🇨 🇹🇷❤
Love the leadership of Drews, Hancock and JWO, and the fight of the newcomers. Great experience to have as they continue to develop. Vargas + Santarelli are game changers for Türkiye. t’ll be interesting to see them vs Team USA with Thompson, Ogbogu and the other veterans.
And with the veteran players the USA gain in experience, tactical obedience and mental strength: Ogbogu, Larson, Thompson, obinson, Washington, there are many good people to compose the team, I believe in the physical and tactical growth of the team!

I am happy with this game, our coach is new and he is trying with different players and different positions. Third and Forth set was insanely good.Ebrar and Vargas,I am so satisfied with their performance.
USA did a great defense,I think that is why it is making them USA.
I like their mentality while they are playing.
We need to learn a lot from them for sure.
Ebrar,you show that you are completely a player who loves to play volleyball,I like your energy,passion and your power.
Vargas is always Vargas, we are so lucky to have them both.
I am proud of my team,at the end this is team sport, p.s I saw some comments that you have Vargas and Ebrar and you still lost and the conclusion is you don’t watch and understand the volleyball itself it is a team sport,everybody should play well. As a Turkish person it’s always such a pleasure to see these two incredible teams play against each other! We fought great but USA played better in the tie break. They served and received better than us(their youngstars were so impressive esp Skinner) Other than that our defence and block system were incredible along with Karakurt and Vargas’s powerful attacks. Congratulations on the win🇺🇸 And a great fight from our ladies🇹🇷

Santarelli actually started the game with the wrong six. After 2-0, we changed the team almost completely and brought it up to 2-2. Hande change in the tie-break lost the match, but I admire Santa's courage. He gave a chance to all the players and they were all on the field for 1 game. Unlike us, USA was on the field with players accustomed to playing with each other. However, we couldn't achieve full harmony, but we finished the week with 3 wins and 10 points. I think we will start week 2 stronger
Right the 1st set of 6 for games 1 and 2 is so lacking to face a strong team USA...I wonder why Vargas was pulled out and was not checked-in in the crucial part when the score was 20 for turkey and 22 for USA, Vargas can be the match changer by that time, probably they can win in game 1 ...
The match was really good, classic and impressive.
What makes the difference for games 1 &2 with games 3 & 4 is Vargas power! The set players for 3 and 4 matches, should be the ones playing in game 1! Santerreli made the switches as a trial much more facing the strong team USA, it was a wrong nor weak strategy🤔 anyway, hope the coach has learn the hard way😤

Congratulations USA.
So many people doubted the USA, saying that the usa had to win in 5 sets in their other matches and won’t stand a chance against teams like brasil, china and turkey. Well, this team of mainly C players have shown that they are not afraid to fight. They got alot of playing time and did not falter under pressure. They best one of the strongest teams in their home country. People love to hate on team USA but I am so proud of these youngsters. Asia oneal for me has the strongest chance to make move to team B or maybe even team A. She is blocking well and hitting in the middle smartest and efficiently; in college she really only liked to hit slides.
There are so many teams that didnt play with their own A team. Whats wrong with it? Why does nobody played with their legends? Is there anything happened that i missed?
I realized that USA fans are saying that they won the game with young players.But helllloooo We are a young team too.Vargas Karakurt and İlkin are only 23.Congrats to USA but I think we are improving a lot.Also we have new coach so he is trying different things .I believe that we could have won this game if Santarellli wouldnt start the game with Derya.But all of this matches are helps us to find our real power.

Karakurt and Vargas both have more international experience, many years of club league experience while some USA players are still in college and playing few years of clubs.
I am pleasantly surprised with the USA getting the W. Skinner was an absolute beast in the court. However, I always wondered why Turkey never started with Vargas and Karakurt at the same time. Those two are incredible.
It's got to be because santarelli try different things with the teams, they always start different every match this week. But I think santarelli underestimate the USA a little bit, everyone underestimate the USA team, because this is the B team for USA, a bunch of new players who never played in VNL before. So going in everyone including me thought the score will be 3-0 with Turkey beating USA. So that's why I guess Turkey start with their weaker line up in the first set. But the USA teams come preprared and have the mental to pull it off.
Ps. I said weaker but it's only derya instead of aydin, and karakurt instead of vargas the rest is pretty much their A team and starting players usually

This was an incredible match to watch. It was a battle of 2 genius coaches. USA made thw necessary adjustments at the perfect moment while Turkey made errors at the wrong time. USA's composure got them this win!

So proud of the youngsters on this USA team shows they have a-lot of heart and grit! Coming back from a 25-11 set lost to a fifth set then winning the game takes so much mental strength especially when Turkey has the home court advantage as well!! I cant wait to watch how well some of these new comers play along side Larson, Thompson, Chiaka, Poulter, Plummer etc..

When Dana gets going it really is hard to stop her. Not her best match, but we somehow got the W. Hancock and Vargas really were lethal though. This could have easily gone either way.
I totally agree.Retke grew in this game.I really want her to evolve,with her 2.03mts.She only has to grow.And Hancok,showing that she wants the starting spot in this time,is an incredible lifter,strong attacker,very good serve,and remember Evans,who will still grow a lot.

As for my team, I'm looking forward to see if this game plan with Vargas and Karakurt will work. Karakurt's reception is better than most outside hitters in the roster.

Congratulations to our team. It's really frustrating to lose 3-2 against America, but I think it was important to be able to come back from 2-0 this game. I remember how the girls collapsed mentally in previous years, especially when they fell behind in the game against Serbia. They would lost psychologically first. That's why I was especially happy that they were able to come back in this match. I hope they continue even better. I think the main reason why we lost the game is the lack of defense. I hope we can improve in defense and serve and become an even better team. Congratulations to the girls and our fans who never leave them alone ❤️🤍

Não entendi porque o professor Santarelli não começou um jogo tão importante com Vargas. Definitivamente a Turquia é um outro time com ela em quadra apesar de Karakurt também jogar bem. Depois também não entendi o motivo de tantas mudanças na equipe no tie break depois de um quarto set perfeito e avassalador. Vi alguns turcos culpando erro de Hande mas para mim, ela não tem culpa alguma. Tem um ditado popular que diz que em time que está ganhando não se mexe. E que as vezes, o menos é mais. A mesma formação que estava pegando fogo no quarto set deveria ter continuado no tie break. Turkey won the whole VNL just with that save move on the 5th set (7:20 - 7:34), it was incredible!!!! I'm rooting for them and Brazil this season

As i Turkish guy i can say that we couldn't win but we've played amazing. In 4th set was amazing. And also i want to congrat to USA's team 'cause they were amazing and so professional. After the 4th set they've focused to the last set and they did a great job. In this week clearly we've watch the best match and i was really greatful to watch this match. Congrats to everyone.

@@alfredotabanao The whole team was good. If you can't see that, either you didn't watch the match or you don't understand volleyball. In the USA Game, 70 points were scored as a team, 20 of which belonged to Vargas. We also beat Italy and Brazil 3-0 without Vargas.
