We have a Reserve cabin, just not along the private cabana deck. Another TH-camr noticed there was a lot of traffic from the Marketplace into the narrower corridors, not just into the wider corridor leading to the elevators. So I guess we’re going to have a lot of people passing by our cabin. Very disappointing!
@@marjoriemendelson6166 Sorry for a Necro response, but I had the same concern on my May 2025 Med trip. I got a free Mini upgrade from my last Princess cruise, and I was booked the Reserve Cabana Room. Only issue is my room is 4 doors down the hallway from the Elevators. Map shows traffic from the rooms ahead of us including normal Minis. I was going to ask for a change but felt that I am going to get the same amount of people walking by as I did on the last cruise. My room was between aft and central elevators, and I never was bothered by sound.
JJ Cruise thank you so much. You nailed this topic perfectly. We are booked on Reserve Cabana Mini Suite for the first sailing when the Sun Princess moves to the Caribbean later this year. At the time of booking and I became aware of the shared deck section it caused huge concern for privacy. We checked this out and we are in Reserve Collection Cabana Mini Suite away from the "shared deck" section. However, with your detailed and excellent coverage you presented the other concern of the passenger traffic on Deck 9, which is where we are booked. I am hoping this should not be too much of a problem. The flip side of that Deck 9 would be that it's the same deck as the International Cafe if one wanted to nip down and pick up some food without going through room service and not need an elevator. JJ if you get any further insight into this Suite Category it would be great to pass it along. If there were serious concerns revealed we may be able to switch suite locations. We love the superb job with the videos where you present "very useful" information and also keep it entertaining. Thank you!!!!
Thank you for letting us know that not all of the suites have the lack of privacy of the ones on deck 9. I found a great price for one, but was turned off by the idea that the balcony would not be private or an ocean view. I think that the cabins on deck 9 would be great for a group. I like the idea of the area not being crowded, and reserved for the people in those cabins, but I am not a social butterfly, and as a solo traveler, I wouldn't feel comfortable in a room on that deck.
I booked the Reserve Cabana Mini Suite with the balcony right on the side of the ship because I didn't want the balcony to connect to the shared outdoor lounge space, but I still have access to it. I am very excited to sail on this ship this fall!
Thank you for the peek inside! We have a cabana mini suite booked on deck 9 but it is towards the front of the ship, so we won't have the extra balcony right outside our door, but will have access to it. Since we are in front of the elevators/lifts there isn't any reason for anyone to be in our section unless they are actually staying there. I am very excited and will let you know what it is like after our 2 weeks in May!
My understanding is you have to be in a reserve cabana mini suite to have access to the private cabana deck. That is what those on the ship confirmed. I am booked in a reserve one early next year.

@@JJCruise ok I’m just going off what someone have pointed out what the booking option on the website said, and a person who was on the inaugural sailing who is in a regular cabana mini suite so they did not have access. But maybe they change their mind since it wasn’t being used that much.
I just checked again and the wording on the Princess website currently under the description of the cabana mini suites reads: Access to the Cabana Deck, an outdoor lounge space exclusively for Reserve Cabana staterooms. Sorry would have included a screenshot TH-cam didn’t give me that ability on the app. I have no doubt that someone at Princess did tell you that but someone is wrong- either that person or the website. I’d just like them to have the correct info since I booked reserve collection for this reason. I’m not going to change my reservation but if they have opened it up to everyone in regular cabana mini suites I feel pretty deceived and it’s not a good start for my first cruise on Princess. I’m sure it’s not being heavily utilized right now but the weather is not extremely warm and it’s port intensive. I’m on a Caribbean cruise that is not port intensive and now I’m concerned about it being crowded.
I've been following your vlogs for the past year and love them. I just booked a Mini Suite cabana on deck 11 for the Sun TA in March 2025. I got a great deal, even though still a little expensive for a solo. I decided to go with the premium package this time due to all the sea day. Keep up the great work.
Good information. We had a cabana suite reserved for our upcoming cruise, but canceled once we realized that the only perk that we would get was access to the cabana deck. Reserve gives you access to a restaurant, but still not worth the extra that you pay for a suite category. We booked one of the deluxe balconies, same size as cabana, on a bump out. We bought the premier package with what we saved.
We will never go back on the Sun Princess. We were on her in the Med. The ship is a beautiful ship, but it is too large with not enough staff for the ship. There were lineups everywhere from the coffee stations to the mdr. Our balcony was spacious enough without spending the extra money on a cabana.
My sister, her adult daughter, and I selected a mini-Cabana reserve cabin on deck 9 (09329), but not one facing the shared deck. We considered the problem of heavy traffic going to the World Fresh Marketplace but were hoping most people would walk through the large center corridor. Looks like we were wrong. Has anyone else booked one of those cabins and experienced the high traffic issue? Was it very noisy? We're sailing on March 29th. Thank you J.J. Cruise for your review!
Thanks for this video, much appreciated. The only downside I see with the cabana mini suite is that the bathroom is smaller on these rooms and the sofa bed (if have kids sleeping in room on lounge/sofa bed) is situated close to the main adults bed which could be a problem for light sleepers listening to snoring teenagers for example. The standard mini suite has the wardrobe separating the main bed from the sofa bed to an extent.
I'm so happy you posted this info as I couldn't find any good info on the cabana cabins on deck 9. I was specifically interested in deck 9 only. You explained everything so well. I love all your videos! You guys are great!! 👍💯❤
Thanks for this informative video on the deck 9 cabana suites. I like the idea of having the deck area in front of my balcony for the reasons you described, especially for entertaining and easy access to the deck chairs. I also like that the Cafe is on deck 9 for easy access to morning coffee. The only part I'm not crazy about is I can't look over my balcony to the dock below while in port due to the high glass on the deck. Thank you so much for posting this video. I think I will book this cabin in the future on deck 9 with the private deck chair area for mixing and mingling. Love it!! ❤
Thank you for this video! We're booked in an accessible reserve cabana mini suite on deck 9 in April. We're 3 adults sharing so I think the extra space will be great with direct access to the deck and hot tub if my parents are feeling too tired to go to main areas. They seem like marmite cabins, hopefully we'll love them! But it's nice there's so many cabin options since everyone likes different things. We're quite new to cruising and only been in inside cabins, so this will be a nice change for us.
I've just got back from a Cruise on the P&O Iona and the major complains are about the Balcony on GF Groundfloor..... I'm surprised someone hasn't sued for not as described.... a balcony is off the floor...... here's Google definision - a platform enclosed by a wall or balustrade on the outside of a building, with access from an upper-floor window or door. "the glass doors opened on to a balcony with a view of the park"...... no mention of Groundfloor..... PS I do however want to step on board the Princess fleet again as I haven't done in 10 years
Jared, thank you for this excellent review! By the way, all your videos ( both created by you and Jordan) are wonderful! We actually have a cabana mini suite booked on the SUN PRINCESS in November! I personally would not care for those type cabins on Deck 9. . .no privacy at all! I do understand that some would love these particular cabins. Kudos to PRINCESS for giving us so many choices in cabin types! We didn't realize this when we booked, but we are on Deck 12 so we are fine! Any time we are able, we try to book a mini suite on Princess. Their mini suites seem to be much more affordable than some of the other cruise lines. Looking forward to seeing you and Jordan soon!🚢🚢🚢
Great, informative, and entertaining video! What a great looking cabin with some nice perks. I would definitely consider booking one of these cabins were I ever to cruise on Princess! 👍
Great video. I have bid to upgrade to a mini cabana on my 4/17 Sun Princess Cruise. I have subscribed and I look forward to more informative cruise info. From what I have seen...you guys are great. Thank you for what you do.
..I wonder if people still get up at 4am with their book, towel, and towel clips, to 'reserve' their lounger on that private patio/deck space...and then not use it until after their all day excursion! Lol!
This is very similar to the controversial Conservatory Mini Suites on board P&O Cruises on Iona and Arvia - but it's even worse on these two ships as the deck is the promenade deck open and accessible to all passengers.
I think if you’re travelling with a group and want to have proximity the deck nine common space would be fabulous! I’m not sure I would want deck nine as a couple as it’s kinda a crapshoot at that point of who you end up being around. I might find it annoying if a loud mouth ended up being in front of my cabin to enjoy their afternoon while ruining mine…..then the money we spent would be a double dagger of disappointment. I do see the benefit for a larger group! I would try one with a private deck…very helpful for two types of sleepers! Thanks JJ cruise❤️😊
My problem with deck 9 (off the addl private deck space) is the tall blue glass. My ship is full so I can’t get this cabin style on the others decks. If the glass gets dirty- the whole view is ruined. Also can lean on my railing and look anywhere left or right. So bummed
Thanks Jared! Very helpful. My mom and I are booked on the Sun Princess in November and we have a Cabana Mini on Deck 10. She's going to love seeing this video.
Your review validated our decision. We were booked on the Sun in a Cabana Mini Suite for Thanksgiving and weren't feeling comfortable with the cabin layout, so we cancelled. I could see how it might be beneficial for others but it is definitely not for us. Heading back to Mexico on the Discovery instead.
I like them personally! It is weird, I have never sailed Princess, but I have watched a lot of the coverage and this ship is really growing on me despite all the beige. I think I might like it. 🤷🏻♀️
Just make sure you get the "reserve" option. The Reserve dining room is terrific as it has the same food as the Signature dining room except for table side prime rib service
GREAT information. We love Mini Suites on Princess. We would consider the Cabana suite but not on Deck 9. Also not one to sit in the sun so if we used the cabana area it would have to be in the shade. We have always enjoyed the MDR when travelling with friends but on the Sun it is a separate dinning area which is a huge plus. We would not want to book the Reserve class if we were only traveling as a couple and not with friends as we enjoy a shared table. We are not convinced on all the other ships the Reserve class is worth our dollar.
Thank you for the review, this is the first video I’ve seen featuring these mini sweets…..really appreciate it….we are booked in a reserve collection Cabana mini sweet in mid January out of Fort Lauderdale and we are very excited……
Hey JJ, Do you happen to remember if you could access the Cabana deck through your personal deck? Or do you have to go through your room and come from another way? Like do those patios have a gate? Also can the rooms balcony open fully if you have a neighbor who wants to open it up?
Only C1 and C2 reserve cabana mini suites on deck 9 have access to the cabana deck. We are booked in a cabana mini on deck 10 and will not have access to the deck.
Awesome one of my clients/friends booked one for December and has been looking for someone on the cruise who has seen the cabana suites. This is great. Thank you so much🎉❤❤
Sounds lovely so long as the cabin isn’t on Deck 9. It’s like the mini-conservatory suites of the P&O Iona & Arvia, isnt it? Does the a/c shut off too when the door to the cabana is opened? For that matter, is there a/c in the cabana area or is it considered an outside space?
This sounds and looks a lot like the Havana area on some Carnival ships (minus the Reserve option). Depending on the price difference between this and a regular balcony cabin, I'd definitely stay in one of these cabana cabins 😊
So to be clear, is it just deck 9 that has that shared space off the balcony? I am a social butterfly and there is not a chance in heck I want people walking right by me when I'm having coffee on my balcony
Thanks for the review. I booked a room here and looking forward to it. Can we get drinks and food delivered out there ? We have Princess Plus. Also how do you get from your cabin to the outside space in Deck 9.
What about the full length blue glass on some of the reserve cabanas on deck 9. These cabins don’t have a traditional balcony and don’t have direct access (from the room) to the cabana deck? We are in one of these in a few weeks but do have concerns that the glass will make us feel enclosed when on the ‘balcony’. At the time of booking we didn’t know the glass would extend up that high and would not have done so had we known. We’ve actually bid on an upgrade but doubt we will get it as the ship is supposedly full so I guess I’ll be able to let everyone know).
First time on your channel, we are locked in my wife and i are booked on the 9th floor the reserve collection cabana suite is the suite with the privacy balcony area, I'm sorry I didn't get it. But i have subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the information it was great
Is there a gate on your private deck so you can easily go out to the larger cabana deck? Seems like that would be better than having to go out and around.
Hey Jared. Thanks for your insight. I don’t care for balconies that sit on walkways like that. Prefer balcony and sea 😂. However I like this mid cabana with the tv. Can still see the sea and relax in A/C with a view. And it does look like ppl can see out but folks can’t see in. Hopefully 😂. Now if the stateroom sat close to one of those deck jacuzzi’s that you can exit your balcony straight to the jacuzzi; my husband would love that.
Thanks for breaking it down! We’re looking forward to staying in one of these this summer. Did they happen to show you where the 4th bed is? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere. Thanks!
I looked at a future sailing and was thinking a cabana mini suite right next to the deck (overlooking the water) would be perfect. None available as Reserve. If I booked a regular Cabana Mini Suite I could get an ocean view. All the Reserve were on the cabana deck. That's a miss for me. I'll stick to Reserve Mini Suites with a proper ocean view and nobody overlooking my balcony, thanks. I like the idea of a cabana, I just think the location of the Reserve Cabana Mini-Suites are a miss.
Good review. Just a question, can you access the public cabana area straight from your balcony portion or do you have to go out in the corridor to access the public part?
Thanks for the great information. Do you know if deck 9 cabins balconys have a gate with direct access onto the Shared deck and spa pool areas or do you have to go back through your front door down the hallway to a main exit point to access the mini suite shared deck area?
Only the cabins with patios have direct access to the Private Cabana Deck. Any other Reserve Cabana Mini-Suites on Deck 9 (not directly attached to the Deck) would need to come through the hall to access the deck. ☺️
I think it's a ridiculous idea. Even though the balconies on (mini-suites and standard balcony cabins) all Princess ships have become small - the idea of taking away usable cabin space for a 'cabana' space is ludicrous. Aren't the cabins small enough to begin with?
Very nice review. Could you confirm two things please. Are the balconies on the Cabana Mini Suites on deck 10 open or covered? They appear open on your video tp be open. Secondly, I think you implied that anyone in a Cabana Mini Suite can have access to the Cabana area on deck 9. The Princess website seems to suggest that only Reserve Cabana Mini Suites have access to the deck 9 area. Can you confirm one way or the other please? From the Princess website: "One of the many perks of staying in a Reserve Collection Cabana Mini-Suite is access to our new Cabana Deck, an exclusive outdoor space with comfy furniture and the freedom to spend the day however you like. It just may be your favorite spot on board!"
We cannot confirm that all Deck 10 Cabana Mini Suites are open as we only got to tour a couple cabins. 🚨 Only Reserve Cabana Mini-Suites have Access to the Private Cabana Deck. There are Reserve Cabana Mini Suites both with Direct Access as well as those with Traditional Balconies.🚨 Sorry for any confusion as this information was inaccurately provided to us initially as well.
Deck 9 suites would have no security if your door was open for fresh air. I go out on my balcony in a robe at the crack of dawn. Strangers 2 feet away. No way.
I’m a bit confused. Are there actually cabins right behind the cabana? So there’s a communal balcony then several cabanas then a pass thru from the cabana to your room if you choose to have your room on that floor? Can’t another passenger who has access to the community balcony easily hop over the wall into your ‘private’ cabana area then open the sliding door into your cabin?
Each cabin has a cabana area which leads to a personal balcony just like with standard balcony cabins. On Deck 9, there’s a communal deck just beside the cabin balconies which is exclusive for reserve cabana mini-suite passengers (according to the website). You could try climbing over the balcony rail but if the sliding door of the cabana of that cabin is locked, then you can’t enter it.
@@mpb3481 ok thanks. That is what I though. It’s an odd setup for those guest who are actually staying on DECK 9. I’m sure overall it’s fine but to me there’s some minor concerns for unordinary things to happen. Mark my word, at some point in future there will be some crazy scenario that will make news due to this setup
@@PJL7095 P&O Iona & Arvia are worse. The Deck 8 conservatory suites (same set up) have no closed-off communal area and the balconies are right on the promenade deck. Plus they placed deck chairs against the balcony dividers so you could have passengers sitting right against your balcony at all times of the day.
So if you’re staying in the cabana mini suite on deck 10, you have access to the private cabana area on deck 9? Did you happen to also film the non-cabana mini suite?

The pricing is Dynamic so it is unfortunately impossible to share the difference. The prices on one sailing could be close to the same as a Deluxe Balcony one day, and then change to be less affordable the next day and every sailing has different pricing as well. These will be more in price than a Deluxe Balcony as they do come with more features and space. ☺️
I checked this out as well. The answer I was given was as long as you have a "Cabana Mini-Suite" category you have access to to the outside deck section. You will just have to exit your room and go down the corridore a little and get controlled access to that deck.

My budget it’s for inside only!!
And I love it 🥰
Absolutely!
I always love your videos. You both are so thorough and very informative. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
We think you would too! The beige is strong but the drinks are stronger 😜😂
We booked this category on deck 11 for next summer. I'm so excited that you're giving it such a positive review.
Thank you for the review, this is the first video I’ve seen featuring these mini sweets…..really appreciate it….we are booked in a reserve collection Cabana mini sweet in mid January out of Fort Lauderdale and we are very excited……
We are so happy to hear! You’ll have a blast we are sure!
Hey JJ, Do you happen to remember if you could access the Cabana deck through your personal deck? Or do you have to go through your room and come from another way? Like do those patios have a gate? Also can the rooms balcony open fully if you have a neighbor who wants to open it up?
@@sherrylynn1519 we believe you could go through the patio with a key card. Not sure on opening up to neighbors though. ☺️
@@JJCruise Thanks buddy!
Only C1 and C2 reserve cabana mini suites on deck 9 have access to the cabana deck. We are booked in a cabana mini on deck 10 and will not have access to the deck.
I think our family would love that. We cruise as adult family and spend a tremendous amount of time either on a balcony or in some nook on deck.
Thanks for the information, JJ Cruise. 👍🏻
These Cabana Mini Suites look amazing!
We were really impressed!
We booked a reserve cabana mini suite out of Athens in the fall. Thanks for the deck 9 heads up.
Thank you JJ for the heads up on the Sun Princess Cabana mini-suite and its amenities, I think we would love it on our 14-day cruise on June 1st.
I’ll be on 11 and kind of wish I went higher to have less of a view of the balconies on 10 & decks on 9. 🤷♀️
Hi JJ Cruise, we enjoy your content. We especially liked hearing about the Cabana mini suite since we have one booked for 2 weeks in November.
We are so happy to hear! Enjoy your Cabana!! 🥳
We read on the Princess website the Cabana Deck is for the Reserve Collection guests only. Can you clarify for us?
Awesome one of my clients/friends booked one for December and has been looking for someone on the cruise who has seen the cabana suites. This is great. Thank you so much🎉❤❤
Sounds lovely so long as the cabin isn’t on Deck 9. It’s like the mini-conservatory suites of the P&O Iona & Arvia, isnt it? Does the a/c shut off too when the door to the cabana is opened? For that matter, is there a/c in the cabana area or is it considered an outside space?
That’s a great review. You guys will be such great dads. ❤
We weren’t able to tour any cabins that you are describing so aren’t sure on that experience. Sorry!
We’re in the same situation. I’m concerned about the sea spray and dirt that’s going to get on that glass, and ruin the view completely
First time on your channel, we are locked in my wife and i are booked on the 9th floor the reserve collection cabana suite is the suite with the privacy balcony area, I'm sorry I didn't get it. But i have subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the information it was great
I love your smile! Great Video!😎
Thanks Karen! 😀
Is there a gate on your private deck so you can easily go out to the larger cabana deck? Seems like that would be better than having to go out and around.
Already booked for one on the 11th deck.. Happy to hear you like the room and found no downsides, looking forward to our 2 week trip this summer!
Thank you for the video. I would not like the one with all people walking by but the quieter ones would be nice.
Quick question, we have a cabin (deck 11) almost directly above a cabana mini-suite, bad move or not?
Also if I’m on deck 12 is it difficult to get to the private pool /hot tub area ?
Thanks for breaking it down! We’re looking forward to staying in one of these this summer. Did they happen to show you where the 4th bed is? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere. Thanks!
I really do think I’d enjoy that type of cabin. Only thing is I really do like to step out late and early and look at the ocean.
JJ can you tell me if the cabana mini suites on deck 9 alongside the cabana deck have direct access from the balcony to the cabana deck via a gate?
Great video !! Do they bar service coming in there to see if you need a drink ?
Thank you for this! How is the privacy from above balconies? xoxo
Thanks for the info. And yes, because of your review, I would book the cabana mini-suites
Happy to hear! 🥳
You two are so helpful!
Happy to help!
Good review. Just a question, can you access the public cabana area straight from your balcony portion or do you have to go out in the corridor to access the public part?
Great video! Looks like a great cabin category! 🥰
@@JJCruise thanks so much
Carnival has this on some of their ships, with Havana Cabana and their two Italian Costa ones too.
We have one booked on deck 10 this summer, can't wait.
If you do a Sun or Star Princess group cruise I will definitely be booking deck 9 cabana!!
It would be perfect for a group cruise!
@@JJCruise yes and with 200 cocktails watch out 😂
I think it's a ridiculous idea. Even though the balconies on (mini-suites and standard balcony cabins) all Princess ships have become small - the idea of taking away usable cabin space for a 'cabana' space is ludicrous. Aren't the cabins small enough to begin with?
Don't knock it until you've tried it.
you guys need to do the reserve minisuite (non cabana).
We are in the cabana mini suite. We love it. The only way to go.
Seems like a very compelling idea for a suite.
It does seem like deck 9 is not going to be a popular location due to the lack of privacy.
This sounds fun if can you book it as upgrade or add on while on the ship.
You cannot. This is purely accessible by cabin type which must be booked in advance.
There are Reserve Cabana Mini Suites both with Direct Access as well as those with Traditional Balconies.🚨
Sorry for any confusion as this information was inaccurately provided to us initially as well.
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! 🥳
I just booked a reserve collection cabana mini suite on deck 12. Will I have a real balcony ?
Definitely reach out to Princess directly to confirm what is included as we have heard some things have changed since we went.
Just put in a bid for an upgrade to reserve cabana and cabana now I know they are not all on 9🚢🍷
Of course there is no one on the cabana deck. It is pouring rain.
We went both when sunny and when it was one-and-off rain on different days. Low amounts of people both times. ☺️ (of course, that’s never guaranteed)
Great info! This definitely wouldn't be for me. I'd rather have the infinite balcony over this style!
We going in deck 9 on September crossing the Atlantic
Any info on signature penthouse suite?
Is there a bar in this area or at least VERY close by? If not does it have cocktail waiters/ waitresses? That would be a HUGE. consideration for us
Sadly, that was my first thought. Cheers!
yes they look
cool
Look's like Princess got this concept right.
Deck 9 suites would have no security if your door was open for fresh air. I go out on my balcony in a robe at the crack of dawn. Strangers 2 feet away. No way.
Exhibitionists love it.
Thanks ☀️🥂☀️
Thank you for watching!
🚨 UPDATE: Only Reserve Cabana Mini-Suites have Access to the Private Cabana Deck. There are Reserve Cabana Mini Suites both with Direct Access as well as those with Traditional Balconies.🚨

@@JJCruise Thanks!
I was hoping you tell us the price difference. Maybe you can below ? Very good review.
Reminds me of the Havana suites on carnival ships.
We would try it! ❤
Such a fun newer way to cruise!
QUESTION ICan people not booked in the deck 9 Cabana mini suites be allowed to use the outside Cabana deck?
I checked this out as well. The answer I was given was as long as you have a "Cabana Mini-Suite" category you have access to to the outside deck section. You will just have to exit your room and go down the corridore a little and get controlled access to that deck.
🚨 Only Reserve Cabana Mini-Suites have Access to the Private Cabana Deck. There are Reserve Cabana Mini Suites both with Direct Access as well as those with Traditional Balconies.🚨

A really nice option!
We agree!!
Is the cabana area air conditioned?
We aren’t certain on this… we didn’t really notice sorry! 😅
I think the cabana mini suites on deck 9, where the public space is, should refer the balcony as a patio. Balconies are more for Romeo and Juliette. 😂
It is like a patio… just missing a grill 🍖😜
@@JJCruise LOL...don't give anyone ideas!
Thanks for all you guys do. Much appreciated. 👍
I’d stay in one. Easier access to get places too.
Very true
carnival freedom fire again sat 315 edt everyone's on I injury
