      @@akratichuman I may know how to move limbs and stuff around with bones, but I have run into some awkward limits with that method; this sprite sheet method may help me overcome it. I’ll experiment with it and share the results on Discord. 🙂

    You know this is really really amazing, I was trying very very hard to learning coding with godot and it was way way to hard. There is a built in animator just like dragon bones but hardcoding is not something i can do with GDscript. That's for making this tutorial i was not sure how hard this was going to be but it looks easy enough to do : ) thank you!!!!

    Amazing tutorial! I'm on MZ, but I'm currently using Yanfly+Yami Sideview Battlers, but I guess this one is a better version of that. Can I create custom poses with Dragonbones too, right?

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh wow, did you get Yami + Yanfly to work in MZ? It seems like it would be quite prone to breaking. You can absolutely create custom poses with Dragonbones! In fact, that is its main function. For example, Aekashics' work is a decent demonstration of what Dragonbones can make possible: th-cam.com/channels/01w_68W_S93rR8DrrrGAgg.html
      If you got any questions on learning Dragonbones, let me know. I know some decent tutorials on TH-cam.

    when you set up dragon bones, did you also have to add yanflys other battle plugins and action sequences, even if you aren't using the dragon bones for battle? I was trying to get it set up, and I'm doing something wrong. Doesn't seem to work, keeps showing error when i try to open my project for some reason

    I have a question. How old of a version will this work in Dragon Bones? I missed my chance to get at a time when its support still worked, so I had to get mine from elsewhere, and it wasn't even a version 5, nor could I update it.

  • @bannedalex1410

    Is MZ's Yanfly battle core needed to use animated enemy sprites with dragonbones? Or can I use dragonbones for it without the battle core?

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know, you can use enemy sprites with just the dragonbones union plugin. You would set different dragonbones motions to reflect the motions built into MZ, like sleep, dead, guard, damage, etc. If you want to choreograph cool attacks, you'd need battle core.

    When I export my sprites from aseprite to dragonbones my sprite is blurry is there a fix to that?

  • @MrVoopvoop
    @MrVoopvoop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can literally create my own sprite sheets with Aesprite. Can this plugin use just standard sprite sheets - or is that a no go? That's all I'm looking for: is something that lets me make sprite sheets while increasing animation frames and motions.

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This method is pretty much a work around since there's no good plugin for what you need. One day I'm sure we'll get a plugin like what you need though! One note that Archaeia brought to my attention - if you're making sprite sheets with 4, 5, 6 + frames, the file size will start to get insane. Making multiple frame animations in Dragonbones ensures the .png file for your battler is smaller and efficient.

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a problem I ran into a few months ago and was planning on testing more thoroughly. Is it just new animations commands that don't work or something else? It may be worth a bug report to VS as well if you can replicate it in a new project.

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Currently you can't just use extended spritesheets if that's what you're asking. But you can do unlimited frames using Dragonbones, and it avoids the problem of rapidly inflated filesizes.

    • @HyperNova137
      @HyperNova137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure there's actually a number of plugins that will allow you to use more frames if you set up an extended sprite sheet correctly (AKEA ANIMATED BATTLE SYSTEM, for example), but that requires having an awful lot of pixel art which you might have to draw the hard way if the assets aren't already provided for you. I haven't personally tried any of them out yet, it looks like quite a bit of extra work to get everything set up.

    • @akratichuman
      @akratichuman  2 ปีที่แล้ว
