  • Bull Valley Gorge is a slot canyon that was the scene of a 1954 accident when a truck carrying 3 men ran off the bridge, killing all three men. The blue truck is still wedged into the slot canyon and you can see it as you hike in the canyon bottom below. This is located directly on Skutumpah Road, south of Canonville, Utah.

Loving the last few hikes! There is so much in the Escalante area. I hope you can make Buckskin. In September, weather permitting, I want to do Wire to Buckskin and out Whitehouse. Have you done that in a day? I think it’s around 23 miles but pretty flat. I’m hoping I’m so consumed with the beauty I forget my legs are tired 😂.

patience grasshopper! I did bucksin the day after I did these slot canyons, just still haven't edited yet. I have videos on Grosvenor Arch, Yellow Rock, and Buckskin (white house to wire pass) coming up!

How far NW or SE from the bridge did you drop in? Then after that the exit gully was about a mile or so? Thank you.

It's about a half mile to the drop in -- but it's obvious the canyon gets super shallow. Then I would say at least a mile in the canyon, maybe 1.5 miles, but the exit gully is also obvious on the right. But if you keep going down canyon there are many more exit gullies (so I've read in Kelsey's book). But my video should help you!

@@HikingEngineer Great, so Follow the rim trail on the north side of the canyon for about .5 miles then drop in. Then head back toward the bridge, then past it for about 1 mile, then the exit gully will be on the right (south)?
