In celebration of another N7 day that will probably have no relevant news to the new Mass Effect, let's finally look back at the conclusion to the trilogy that was in no way controversial at all! This is Mass Effect 3.
And it's totally not because I was lazy in editing this video...

It's been a stressful week here south of the Canadian border, but I got to shed a happy tear seeing this notification. Thanks for the emotional oasis in the midst of screaming into the void while things are literally burning 🔥😢

Yessss, I've been waiting on this for ages! I got interested in Mass Effect thanks to your character tier list and quadrilogy(probably the wrong word) review of the games and marathoned the entire trilogy in one week or 2.

Haven’t gotten to the part where you discuss it yet, but tbh I think ME3 has a far better ending than DS3, especially counting the DLC for both. I think both have issues with being built up, but I think ME3 at least tries to rely on stuff that has been built up, even if I do agree with all the people who say it overly focuses on and misrepresents the synthetic versus human conflict. DS3’s ending is just so poorly put together to me, the base game ending felt generic and cliche so it really didn’t have me caring that much despite liking Issac a lot, and the DLC feels so rushed and cheaply nihilistic. I think you can have great nihilistic endings, but there has to be actually interesting themes and weight behind them, and DS3 really just doesn’t have that to me, like I get they were trying to show the existential and cosmic threat of the necromorphs but there’s nothing beyond that, it’s just exhibiting that cosmic horror and not really saying anything about it, it’s self gratifying in a way that feels very late 2000s edgy. I don’t particularly like Alien 3, I know you do, but I feel like it at least was saying something about human nature in the face of nihilistic threats, DS3 kind of just throws you as a rushed twist and doesn’t really do anything beyond that. I know DS4 was in the works and it was canceled and would’ve probably expanded upon that, but I personally don’t think the premise of Ellie hopping between a bunch of random ships under necromorph attack was that really interesting anyway so I’m not too broken up about it being canceled
Beyond the endings though, I think ME3 wraps up way more trilogy long threads than DS3, a game which basically, as you yourself said in your DS3 video, abandons the set up from DS2 with the Overseer and Government to do its own thing
