Ningxia looks like a place I will like to explore after I have relocated back to Asia in a few years. A nice combination of dusty vistas and history stirs my wandering soul. It's good to know there's a Nick endorsed watering hole in Yinchuan. Do you know of any opportunities to learn more about the geology and hydrology of this stretch of the Yellow River? The Yellow River must have played a large role for human civilization in this area.

That mosque kinda reminds me of the Cheng Ho mosque in Palembang, South Sumatra. It's architectural element was a mixture of Malay, China and Indonesia. During the times of the Srivijaya empire kingdom in Indonesia it was said that Zheng He visited the city of Palembang four times during his voyage throughout Southeast Asia.
Nick, have you considered collaborating with other vloggers? I know most of them are food-themed or West-vs-East like you just said, but maybe there'd be a few that can click with yours? I'd be interested in seeing you take a doe-eyed newcomer to these hidden treasures. Otherwise they would only be visiting the big ticket tourist sites, on which there are 10,000 videos already.
There are a few mosques in China that have a history dating back to the Tang dynasty, but none of the actual buildings are that old... by a long way. This is one of the oldest actual buildings. There are others of a similar age though.
Your video is very good and much much better than BBC. I even can't leave a comment under BBC's video on China or Chinese. They delete any of my disconsent quite fast.

The video is good, but the number of views is not much, maybe you can try to find someone in bilibili to help you channel it, so that a large number of Chinese viewers will support you

That means the edict given by the emperors that only Chinese style mosques be allowed to be built in the ancient times. They were smarter then.
