Eh... you mean Tex-Mex. A lot of Mexicans get insulted when you call Tex Mex "Mexican food", lol. We definitely do Tex Mex really well. Definitely glad to see Whataburger getting it's due respect. We have In-N-Out as well, and people actually go around saying In-N-Out is better... 😐 Whataburger is also open 24 hours, though unfortunately post-Covid they close their dining rooms after 10PM, and their drive through speeds are famously HORRENDOUS. @@nahor88 Definitely correct in the Tex-Mex, so apologies to any native Mexicans! I love our Tex-Mex 😋 And spot on with the wait times at Whataburger looool. Most ketchup is meh at best. I always mix some hot sauce in my ketchup to give is some flavor. I did that(back in the 70's and 80's) before I ever ate at a Whataburger(late 90's). I thought, "get outta my brain". It seems that I am not the only sneaky genius out there, other people have good ideas also.

As a Texan, it made me so happy to see that you figured out the two best things on the WhatABurger menu on your first visit. By the way, we say it kind of waterburger. Just picture the Texas drawl and saying it as simply and economically as possible. I'd say that the only things you missed and probably should have tried were their fantastic pancakes after 11pm and their famous taquitos. You wouldn't believe how much I craved WhatABurger when I lived in California for 10 years. You can keep In N Out burgers. Just give me WhatABurger and I'm happy.
I love watching the guys pass sandwiches and stuff around and they all share. It makes me so sad(and a bit angry) watching other channels just take a bite of something and you just KNOW they aren't going to finish anything. Plus it's great to see people share food with friends ❤
Really depends on what the channel is, but for anyone vaguely big generally the food is shared off camera still if it's not a true one man production. Stuff like Good Mythical Morning, Try Guys, etc all share the leftovers with the rest of the crew, as does a lot of food reactors that still have camera or production people that aren't as present on camera.
Little trick that a lot of Texans know - if you want a honey butter biscuit but it's not the right time for them, get the BBQ chicken strip sandwich and swap the sauce out for honey butter! It's not quite the same, but it still has the basics. Loved the video, I was hoping to see y'all make your way into the greatest state ever for some Whatab! Now you guys just need to try Buc-ee's BBQ :D
As a born & raised Texan, it brings me so much joy watching you guys enjoy food that has been in my entire life! I hope someday to go to South Korea and get the opportunity to enjoy food I've seen you guys and so many others enjoy through Jolly and Korean Englishman!
As a Texan, happy to yall try Whataburger. The patty melt is definitely a guilty pleasure! Y'all are probably no longer in Texas since I assume this was recorded ahead of time, but next time get a "BOB" (breakfast-on-bun), specifically the sausage one! It was the one thing I craved and missed when I lived abroad.
Being a born and bred Texan, I can attest to how good WHATABURGER is !!!! 😍 Your next TRY, while in TX, should be Schlotskys. There is no better sandwich, and it all starts with their bread. The personal pizzas are pretty good as well. 😋
As a fellow Texan, and a resident to the city Whataburger was founded in(Corpus Christi). Im very pleased to hear that they enjoyed their experience at one of our restaurants. Strange earlier today I purchased a Patty Melt. Then got on TH-cam and saw this in my recommendations. Thank You guys you really made my day. 😊
When you come back, be sure to customize your patty melt. I would recommend adding bacon and/or jalapenos to the patty melt. You can also request Texas toast as the bun for any of their burgers/sandwiches on the menu. It's pretty crazy how much doing that will improve the flavor of different menu items.
As a Texan I love this! Most people pronounce it as "Waterburger" I love how much yall truly enjoy your food. I'm actually not a fan of spicy ketchup and prefer to have my fries with a side of gravy to dip in.
We have several here in NC and from the first time I ever heard the name, that's exactly what I thought the name was.. when I found out what the real name was, I had to think about it to make it real to my brain 😂😂😂

Born and bred Texan here, and I am SO happy that you enjoyed Whataburger! I quite literally sat here watching, laughing at all the jokes, and then as soon as you'd take a bite, I'd get quiet and lean in and wait for the reaction 😂 I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this, but it would be pronounced as someone being pleasantly surprised. "What a burger!" In my area of Texas, we usually pronounce it Waterburger. No idea why 🤔 That's just how it comes out.😂😂
I worked at Whataburger in the late 80s. as a hungry 16 year old. Dream job. A constant double cheeseburger, and fries, shakes. It was so much fun, and I learned so many business skills. I can't speak for them now, but they were really strict on freshness of all the ingredients. If a bun was a day until expiration, it was thrown out. The meat was never frozen, which is mind-blowing to me. The tomatoes had to be singly hand-inspected as they were delivered. It took 30 minutes to go through a box of tomatoes. All of the lettuce had to be immediately hand-washed on delivery, and inspected by the receiving employee, then two managers. It was a focused company. I'm still in touch with my co-workers, they all moved up in their lives, I don't regret a day of it.
I had Whataburger ONE TIME about 5 years ago... I was on a working road trip in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. It was getting late, so I grabbed a burger and headed to my hotel. I put on my pajamas, turned on the tv, and started eating. That burger was so good, I got dressed and went and got another (different) one. There aren't any where I live and I still think about those burgers.
It’s funny as an American and especially as someone who grew up going to Texas regularly to watch y’all freaking out over our food 😂 makes me so happy!

Hiring Grace as an editor is probably one of the best decisions Josh and Ollie have ever made for the channel. Having classical music that fits perfectly with Josh and Ollie’s reactions is something that no other channel has.
Is grace still working with them?
who is grace?
@@xxthesarcasm She was an editor they hired way earlier in their channel, she got some on screen time in two older videos of her reacting to her favorite music memes and then later reacting to the funniest laughs on the internet. Basically people loved hearing her laugh from behind the camera, as her laugh was very contagious, so the idea of those videos was to introduce her to the jolly beans and to try and make her laugh.😊 she was amazing! But we don't know if she still works for them or not.
Anyway, hope you know a little more about grace and a bit of jolly history now☺️

So many reviewers go to famous Texas/Austin establishments and just get the whole experience wrong, I was ready to be disappointed by more unguided novice touristy mistakes but you guys literally nailed every location and got a very well rounded authentic Central Texas food experience. Bravo to whoever guided you or to you for doing your research properly, very well done! That is so true. Some of the best spots are those the TB shows on Food Network never visit (thankfully).

Eh... you mean Tex-Mex. A lot of Mexicans get insulted when you call Tex Mex "Mexican food", lol. We definitely do Tex Mex really well.
Definitely glad to see Whataburger getting it's due respect. We have In-N-Out as well, and people actually go around saying In-N-Out is better... 😐
Whataburger is also open 24 hours, though unfortunately post-Covid they close their dining rooms after 10PM, and their drive through speeds are famously HORRENDOUS. Prepare to wait 30 minutes if you have 2 cars ahead of you.
@@nahor88 Definitely correct in the Tex-Mex, so apologies to any native Mexicans! I love our Tex-Mex 😋 And spot on with the wait times at Whataburger looool.
I have done that many times.
I think it's a law that you can't leave Texas without stopping by Bu-cee's! 😉
Yes. They just need to go y to a Bucee's!
Ollie throws in the “What-a” phrase so perfectly you don’t even get it until a few seconds later. 😂

As a Texan, happy to yall try Whataburger. The patty melt is definitely a guilty pleasure! Y'all are probably no longer in Texas since I assume this was recorded ahead of time, but next time get a "BOB" (breakfast-on-bun), specifically the sausage one! Josh and Ollie are gonna go crazy when they find out you can substitute the bbq sauce for honey butter on the honey bbq chicken strip sandwich
When you come back, be sure to customize your patty melt. I would recommend adding bacon and/or jalapenos to the patty melt. You can also request Texas toast as the bun for any of their burgers/sandwiches on the menu. It's pretty crazy how much doing that will improve the flavor of different menu items.

This makes me so proud. I'm so glad others are experiencing Whataburger. It's so good.
