    I was in college when this aired and I went "Man, that's such a cool band!"
    People were badmouthing Dave about making Nirvana style music but I welcomed it, in that same year boybands like Take That and Backstreet boys were also breaking through and when The Foo Fighters came out I breathed a sigh of relief, there still was quality rocking stuff there.

      dave...was nirvana style. the entirety of the last 3 albums was him beating the shit out of the drums so hard it gave poor drummers fits cause he probably broke heads constantly.

    I love the story of this song. After Dave did the original recordings that would become Foo Fighters he played them to Kurt. Kurt loved Alone Easy Target and it almost became a Nirvana song. Almost. But we all know how that story ends.

    This album was one of the last real grunge records put out, an end of an era really but what a fucking way to do it

      Alice in Chains Self Titled and Soundgarden "Down on the upside" came out after this man! They were both unreal albums. I hear ya though man

    i don't see why people give him shit for sounding somewhat like Nirvana. I can only imagine it is hard to pull away from a style you have been familiar with and your mind goes to on impulse for music. It's the same thing with art, I went through a phase like that as a kid because I grew up simply mimicking others. It's takes a while to get out of

      That and this style of Foo Fighters is one I really like, even with TCATS my favorite's still the album's namesake because it reminds me of Wattershed and I can glady yell out my favorite insult.

      @@RobinCampbelldrummer93 I'm a drummer myself and i prefer Goldsmith just because he plays almost the same as Dave. Taylor is a great guy and all but i'm still waiting for Elon Musk to finally clone Dave so he can play drums and guitar at the same time, that's what i really want.

      They didn't go anywhere though, crowds are stilp exciting and fun. Maybe it's just the U.S. who has boring ones now, but Europe and South America can still sing loud

    I think the Nirvana connection on this song comes up the quiet to loud dynamic. And also the jingly jangly minor funk chord sequence, similar to "Serve the Servants". Anyway, i didnt think grunge was popular in UK by mid 90s? I thought Brit Pop had become the big thing

    prefer this version to any other. pat is perfect on backup vocals for this song and it's adorable how grungy they were trying to be back then :) i mean don't get me wrong.....they totally pulled it off......and i really miss those days

    people say that the first album was super nirvana-y, maybe, but i honestly don't see much connection, dave composes his songs very differently than kurt, only similarity would be dynamics, screaming, and catchy melodies

    I dont mind the Foo Fighters in 95, cause back then they were Fighting Foo. Now? Not sure what to call that band now, cause the Foo stopped about 15 years ago and the marketing began.

      The fuck? 95 was entirely dave, then writing became a collaboration with the entire band for the rest of their careers, not to mention changes in members, changes in style with age, the foos only got better, not worse. Everyone puts intense effort into what they play now, including adding instruments you never hear in a guitar/bass/drums band like 95

Kurt played the demo of the song for Nirvana band-mate Dave Grohl in a break between touring for the album Nevermind. According to Kurt, "I'd told him I was recording and he said, 'Oh, I wanna hear it, bring it by.' He was sitting in the bath-tub with a walkman on, listening to the song, and when the tape ended, he took the headphones off and kissed me and said, 'Oh, finally, now I don't have to be the only songwriter in the band!' I said, 'No, no, no, I think we're doing just fine with your songs.'"[3] Nirvana would jam the song on soundchecks during the Europe 1991 tour.

    id say the drummer looks a little out of his depth, the drums are a wee bit quiet and looks like hes struggling to keep from collapsing.... hes not hitting them like taylor does...id say that he was a class drummer but not a foo fighter drummer...killer song
