    You know what I always say to people who say "It is circular to use the bible to talk about the bible", I say oh really, if you have a big problem with that then I have a question for you. Prove to me your 5 senses are working properly without using your 5 senses and being circular. I have yet to find a person who can prove to me their eye sight is working properly without using their eye sight to prove their eye sight.

    After watching this it is obvious there are far too many views and comments. Such a tremendous discussion that merits being shared with those who struggle with similar thoughts and questions. That guy was an existentialist.... Someone who distances themselves from moral guidance.... its more about ends justify the means, and the value of human life is varying. There are a lot of existentialists in the world.... that personality usually stems from a firm foundation in naturalism, or Darwinism. Hitler and Stalin are the rock start existentialists.... but there are many others who are not so fourthcoming.... like most of the people in power today are existentialists.... the CIA is comprised of mostly existentialists. ect...

    WHAT! No hard science in the Bible? I know this is an old video, so I hope you have had a chance to correct this statement. Just a couple examples; Job 26:7 He stretches out the northern sky over empty space, Suspending the earth upon nothing; Job 36:27, 28 27 He draws up the drops of water; They condense into rain from his mist;
    28 Then the clouds pour it down; They shower down upon mankind.

    • @TheDemolition2000
      @TheDemolition2000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Here’s a couple more that I find interesting: (forgive me, commenting on the TH-cam mobile app is horrible)
      * “He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He hung the Earth on Nothing” earth in space and not some flat land resting on something else. Also, they would not have known that space was empty. job 26:7
      * “In Peleg’s time the Earth was divided” the continents show that they were once together now called Pangea. They’re separated by water now. Peleg’s name in Hebrew means “division” or “water”. genesis 10:25
      * Atheistic evolutionary biologists are now claiming that evolution is more prone to degradation of a species than that of improvement; genetic loading. But they would never accept that thats biblical. We are degradations of the perfected humans-Adam and Eve, and now biologists confirm the concept of deterioration over time.
      * The Universe began to exist from nothing. That is now confirmed.
      * Abraham’s city of Ur was ridiculed and thought not to exist until it was found in 1854. This then proceeded to happen with tons and tons of places, people, and things. Archeological findings strongly align with the Bible’s historical reliability, even after all this time.
      * Dinosaurs possibly with men? Job 40:15-24
      * “He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in” Isaiah 40:22 this may be a stretch, but is that a reference to the universe expanding???? The word "space" comes from the Proto-Indo-European reconstruction *speh-, which means "to stretch"...
      * “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” Hebrews 11:3
      * The image of the beast will be breathed with life. The beast may possibly be an advanced AI
      * Water is life or represents life in the Bible. “We will never thirst if we drink from the fountain of Christ”. And look at what we see: When we look for life elsewhere in the universe, we are looking for water. When people are dying, what do they ask for?
      * Big Bang/spacetime expansion mentioned many, many times that “he STRETCHED out the heavens”. It is also mentioned at least twice that in the end the heavens will roll up like a scroll.
      * God knows the laws of the heavens. We have physical and mathematical laws Job 38:33
      * The entire creation, the universe, is in pervasive decay. Entropy. Romans 8
      * Disease theory, quarantining, and Levitical cleanliness as God commanded in Leviticus, backed you by modern germ theory.
      * The Breath of Life is life, and (Lev 17:11, lev 17:14) “For the life of the flesh is in the blood...”. Blood is what carries oxygen to all of the cells in the body.
      * Man is made and brought up from the dust of the earth. This understanding that we are the same substance as the things in the earth is so far beyond it’s time that it can only come from God.
      * Leviticus. They are commanded not to have incest. (Genetic corruption)

    Rising from the dead is not impossible: My father was once pronounced dead
    by dint of alcohol poisoning, but then he ended up making it anyway.
    With Jesus, his rising from the dead was a miracle that indicates that the nature of life is spiritual,
    not material. It also indicates that Jesus was, at the very least, very advanced spiritually, if not God.

    Just picking up on something Cliffe said "I believe Jesus lived a sinless life", no disrespect to Jesus, or people who believe in him, but what if I said it was a sin for Jesus not to be crystal clear on things like his thoughts on mankind owning other people, hundreds of years later we had slave ships take black people from their homes in west Africa, and using words from the Bible to justify their actions "Slaves obey your masters with fear and respect", .. or being crystal clear on torture, again , from the Bible "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live", this phrase was used to justify torturing and burning people alive at the stake. I could argue that Jesus should have made it empirically clear and totally unambiguous that those kind of actions were absolutely abhorrent. Anyone who uses the Bible for the purposes of causing innocent people extreme torture is immoral, but perhaps the writers of the Bible could have written it in such a way that it would be impossible to take out of context.

      There is a reason the words of Jesus are highlighted differently than the rest of the book. "Love your neighbor as you would love yourself" kind of covers burning witches and obeying your masters.
      Although an eye for an eye is just punishment, Jesus took the penalty. All the old laws and practices made to try and solve human evil are covered by his grace and followers of Christ are to show that same forgiveness even to witches and even to slave masters, should they repent.

    • @bonnie43uk
      @bonnie43uk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dogelife7901 Thanks for that. I would disagree that "Love your neighbor as yourself" covers committing horrific acts, there is disagreement as to what Jesus actually meant by "neighbor", some people believe he was referring to "fellow Jew" how easy would it have been for Jesus to completely make it totally unambiguous so there could be no doubt whatsoever, esp, as it was misinterpreted by some jews to mean, fellow neighbor. If I was God, and I wanted people to know *exactly* what I meant, i could make it much more explicit... and certainly I would make it expressly clear that torturing another human being, .. esp doing it in the belief that God commanded it, I could easily make that a major commandment "Thou shalt not torture thy fellow man".. and i could even go into exactly what I regarded as torture. God missed a good opportunity to explain himself clearly there it seems to me.

    Is theology a science?
    So how can one contradict the other?
    Is geology or archaeology a science?
    We use some of what they offer to assist theology.
    We create for ourselves, a philosophy after consideration.
    If we use unproven theory and call that science, then we are not being honest.
    I believe that you move unproven theories forward because we don't like the concept of authority, your science is your faith in a theory.
    If you use your faith to discount someone else's faith, don't name your faith "science".
    Since creation teaches organisms are like unto their kind and created after their kind, it tells us there are no transitional life forms to be found.
    We also know that the time required to try each combination in the DNA just isn't going to be available for how things are.
    If we dig deep in numerous places, we were told by Darwin the evidence could be there.
    It's not.
    The vast array of life all occurs in that precambrian era.
    They call it "the precambrian explosion".
    Plenty of fossils, no organisms caught between. No change from one kind to another kind is proven.
    There are combinations of traits in each kind that have changed.
    There can be intelligence behind the origin.
    There's evidence of so much information within a single cell, and the blueprint for what it becomes is present in it's DNA blueprint, or sequence.
    You need the sciences to work on the sciences. Having faith can make rationality result in your thinking.
    If your wrong in your faith, you will keep changing your story.
    We read that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
    He is not so affected as we are and our evidence for organisms is. There's call for an architect of life. An author of life. The designer of life.
    I think.

    "What are you living for and what is the evidence that what you're living for is true?" has got to be one of the dumbest things I've heard. That question only applies to theism because if there is no God, then it doesn't matter if what you're living for is true.

    • @oldscorp
      @oldscorp 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And you base that on what exactly? If there is no God, WHY doesn't it matter if what you're living for is true ? Also, have you noticed that you unwittingly admitted that rejecting the idea of God separates you from reality? You basically said you don't need to be consistent with reality without God. Read what you said again. That is your brain on atheism.
