Say you want to one day become a franchise owner and you want to learn about the business.
This question should not even exist. It's an "oxymoron".
It's like, "I'm applying because I need a job and you need someone to fill it".
It promotes day dreaming of what your life with the company could be like, and should be frowned upon because people leave after the job is not what they expect. Agreed, should be outlawed by HR.
This is true wisdom! Speaking authentically and from the heart is the best way to connect with others and knowing your own values is so important in every aspect of life. Thank you Don you are a lifesaver!

This is excellent advice. I think it is super tough to land a job today, and I've just had two months of experience now looking for a job after a lay off. Most of the time I just think "I need a job!" But I see the value in doing a lot of self-discovery before you go out on interviews. I don't want to jump into a job I don't really feel anything about only to have to jump out again.

Hello Don, this is an amazing video. I have one question. If company is having branches all over the world but if we want to join the branch which is located in another country and if they ask "why another country why not in your home country". Then what we should say?

I'm a little bit late, but I have a genuine question. I'm a blunt guy, so please bear with my very forward approach to this. But it is really any business of the company to ask hou personal questions at all? What fight should they have to ask you questions about your life that have no affect on how you work for them. Another few questions, most companies are stepping stones at most and a lot of companies nowadays have no loyalty to their employees, why should someone take pride in canning soda or making rugs? Why should the employee be there for any other reason than go make money or get benefits?

Most people just want to find a job where they’re not miserable and can pay the bills. Most jobs are just jobs and it’s not very exciting. Employers are asking questions like this and end up with candidates that are just better at bull S******* than they are at working.

Why I want work here is not related to their values since you don't really know their values until you work there. Companies would put these and that values and cultures on the website, but in term of practicing it, not really.
you can get a good understanding of their values well before you work there. you might want to rethink your reasoning.

Try an executive rol sometime in the future. The first thing you will learn is that everybody has to be on board. Therefor its vital every person can understand what you teach. You start your story at the beginners level and work your way up. Be happy with what you already know, pat yourself on the back and stop complaining.

I have had wonderful jobs, where I had freedom, could help people who needed help and could use al my imagination to change customerservice. I really enjoyed it and I have learned a lot. Working without passion and fun is not for me.
No offense to the owner of this channel. Let's be real people apply for a job to pay their bills. Or maybe they are applying for a second or third job as extra sources of income because their primary job doesn't pay living wages. 98% of employers specifically large corporations don't care about their employees. It's all about their profit 📈. Wages are so behind when you look at the inflation and cost of living. More often than not people need to choose between paying their rent/mortgage or buying groceries. Let's just be real. A lot of companies and corporations and some employees that worship the company and members of management suffer from delusions of grandeur. What's really funny is that these employees that are company and management worshippers don't realize that the higher up don't care about them either.
