I’ve watched their cooking videos for inspiration and it’s moist because they drizzle vanilla milk on top of every layer. If you’re ever very ambitious and want to make it I recommend also putting rum in it in a similar quantity to the vanilla. I’ve also put wine in cakes before, if you put wine in a chocolate cake the grape-y flavor elevates the chocolate. I put both in my sons cake this year with a sweet white wine and it’s amazing, so as good as that cake is, recognize that there’s tier above that when you put booze in.
I just came back from nyc flagship milk bar and I have to say how surprised I was at how much I hated it. Everything was SUPER sweet like nauseating so. It was worse than e eating a spoonful of sugar. And everything was so heavy. Like thick and tense like there was too much butter. To be clear, I tried 2 Cookies, the strawberry short cake, 4 different cake balls, and the ice cream. I thought I had to like one thing. But no. I was so disgusted and nauseated after the experience. My bf and I shared a small ice cream cup and over half went to the trash. He felt so sick after eating it. It was just an over all disappointing experience. I was so excited too. This is sadly just overhyped and over sweetened . Not worth it at all. 😢
Looks frozen. Frozen cake is the worst. Also, I don't think it is fresh, because they have to freeze it and then to ship it. Probably the cake is made days ago. Best cakes are cakes that are freshly baked and never frozen. I rather buy cakes from local bakery which much much much cheaper and they made it fresh and never freeze it.
thats a fresh cake just flash frozen and iced to withstand the shipping. milk bar store is very well known. he was in the wrong for eating it right away.
