- On a happy note, whatever issues were plaguing the 7000 series cars seem to have been resolved and the cars are no longer restricted to Green / Yellow line service. Enjoy the action =)

Nice video. God I hope WMATA has run their tie tamper and ballast regulator through that interlocking sense this video was taken.That is some seriously rough special track work.
I was down there earlier this week and rode the WMATA system. I must admit the Kawasaki 7000 series trains were really nice! The extra digital displays and TV's gave the trains some nice features. The Alstom trains remind me of the trains made by Alstom on NYC subway. But both ran well and were very clean!
Thank you - I've not been to DC in a few years. I went down to train watch at Union Station. This blew my mom's mind. I Rail fanned, but ended up walking the Mall and going into the Smithsonians, too.
I'm looking to get this camcorder. Did you adjust any of the settings at all?
I will be going down to Washington DC on March 15 to see my Isles play the Capitals!! My hotel is near Dupont Circle and since I’m coming in on Amtrak I will be taking the red line from Union Station to Dupont Circle and from there I’ll walk to my hotel. I haven’t been to Washington DC since February 2018. Looking forward to it!!
Glad to hear that the issues with the 7000s were resolved! I always thought that the older cars sound somewhat similar to the R142s and R160s.

Sadly, they're as good as scrap now. I bet they don't live as long as the 5000 series that was only in service for 15-ish years. The system now is mainly made up of the 3000 series cars from the 80's.

Isn't the set up for the 7000 series supposed to be ABBA ABBA? why was the first train in the beginning of the video was ABBB BABA and the second set ABBB BABA?
The 7k cars can be run as AB-AB-BA-BA

Yes. It is possible to separate a married quad into two married pairs, but 7K married pairs only have a cab at one end, so if that married pair is on the front end or back end of the train, then the cab-less end must be coupled with other cars on the train. (In other words, there *must* be an A car at both ends of the train, regardless of the number of married pairs there are). This means that the 7K series can never be run in a 2-car train. However, that won't be needed, given the demand for capacity, even during non-rush hours.
They’re supposed to run ABBA ABBA in case a self recovery is necessary. You can’t operate (not supposed )from a B car.

David Wu that's the operators fault. They make the train wait a really long time.
David Wu I have too agree because I was riding a train and the dispatcher(I think) said the train had 90 seconds to clear each station. This new train might not make that each.
