Does the fan run constantly? Not like the cooling fan on and off?

Sounds like it had an overheating problem and they misdiagnosed it.
      Hacks. Poor customer 😢

What was the cap you used to cap off the radiator? Seems like I will need one of those.

Great video, have a few of your videos saved, will also sub to your channel.
I just purchased a 2006 Nissan Frontier with only 37K miles on it. My uncle bought it new from the dealer, hardly used it, and is to old to drive, so i purchased it from him. I will be replacing fan clutch and if i need to replace this False water pump bracket, what kind of RTV do i need? is it Grease or a Silicone?
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and helping out others. :o)

What kind of sound does a cluth fan make when going out? Similar to a water pump goin out?

    • @johanh2319
      @johanh2319 4 ปีที่แล้ว

If you haven't had your answer yet. Apparently they tend to act fully engaged when worn out. It'll be a bit noiser as they tend to be fully engaged

The noise he was referring to in this video would have been coming from the fan idler pulley, it would have sounded like a bad bearing. Like a growling metal on metal sound.

    Awesome.
    I have a 2011 Qx56
I have it a good acceleration and poofff.
Steering wheel Started to vibrate a little.
Pulled over to my dad's house like 3 miles away.
Long story short the 2 of the fan blades broke.
    And slashed the radiator.
The fan looks like it hit the shroud but can't really tell on the shroud. The fan blades yes.
I was wondering if my fan hub is worn out?
    (Since u pointed that out)
Qx56 did not get hot at all

If you wanna do this, note that isn't as easy as it seems, the bold to remove the fan are hard to reach, the fan blades are sharp and you will cut yourself, rotating to get to the other bolts is not explained in the vidoe and seems hard to rotate it..

You will gently heat the radiator from the engine warmth. 🎉

☹️ the 4 bolts on the pulley are tight. I stripped 2. I removed the fan blade so I would have room to try to remove the bolts.

me too. stripped all 4 bolts. :-( thinking to take the bracket out instead (after taking out the belt, tensor). The bolt on the bracket is bigger and easier to access.

You just watched him remove the whole assembly and then remove the studs on the work bench. Why would you do it any other way? Lol

You should always replace old ass parts like the Tensioner pulley when holding it in your hand 🙄
Kinda like replacing one side of your front brakes and not the other, lol. It's just ignorant.
