My question is, according to our ancient pure religious scriptures (Vedas, Upanishads) are Brahmins (by birth) only entitled to worship in temples or any other public place for common people? Why can't a non-Brahmin (by birth) worship in a temple for others?
Caste should not be decided by birth. It should be decided by quality and work. The Geeta says that.

Your depiction of characters is probably based on Balmiki Ramayan .But such detailed description is likely to be inaccurate as there can not be any record of what Balmiki said. It is based on hearsay .I have to opine that Dasharath being father of incarnation of God he was not as bad .
