This is my daughters song, I selfishly went though a rough time while her mum was pregnant. I listened to this on my ipod everyday on my way to work. My alarm clock went off on the morning after she was born, and it was this. Shes 9 months old now and I listen to it as often as I can. I might have lost things, but they were material, I've gained the most important thing I ever could.

I see people like this all the time where I live. Some of them are really good. There used to be this fellow with a photo of his kids asking for money as a "desperate father" and somebody realized he was good at holding a sign on the highway and put him to work doing this. The first time I saw him, he was dancing and looked happier than I had seen anybody in the longest time. Within a month he was like this guy.

Don't know why this didn't get to number 1, it is an amazing song as is every song on the album. It should be released again and we should all make sure it gets to the top of the charts where it belongs!

I love this video because unlike other music videos, it doesn't force an interpretation of the song on you. Like they could've come up with a storyline for this video of a man and woman in love or something else cliched, but instead it's just a video of a working man making a boring job fun. He's making a beautiful day out of something that has become routine to him.

Man, only now, 2 years virtually to the hour do those words suddenly hit home with the irony of the moment. Life has a sneaky way of kicking you in the nuts and reminding you of everything in seconds.

I can remember watching this live at Leeds last year. It went on for 8 minutes and it was that emotional that by the end everyone was just hugging eachother. Absolute Brilliance.
I saw them at Latitude. This is why I'm seeing them again in December. I was still singing this for about an hour after it finished.

Wow... It was like I was entangled by his talent and the song was just there. It was so god dam perfect. It was like for once, if even for 4 minutes, I was somewhere not on this planet. This, ladies and gentlemen, is music; this... is art.
Why's it a waste? It allows Elbow's brilliance and their beautiful lyrics to shine and come to the foreground rather than taking the attention away from them.

I'm from Bury(elbow hometown), and I can remember about 14 or 15 years ago my mates mum and step-dad were getting married and they managed to get a new up-and-coming band to play at their wedding for free due to one of band members knowing the best man in some capacity, i passed up the opportunity to go and tape a program about aardvarks or something similar, equally as inconsequential, anyway turns out it was only elbow, by all accounts they were biblical.
I heard this song for the first time on the radio earlier, purely by chance as I don't like modern music. And I loved it!

i was at a theatre group meeting and we had just gotten back from dinner so what do my theatre group and i do? we go outside on a gorgeous 50 degree late afternoon day and play this song at full volume. it was truly eventful :)
never really took much notice of this band but i've been hearing this song a lot lately on the radio & music channels, then i saw their performance of it at it glastonbury which was brilliant
