Hi, Mike! I'm the daughter of Tom O'Grady, the elderly gentleman and the sick lady you rescued in the white Ford by the old Breckenridge milk stand in Everson. We both would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts so much for stopping and rescuing us, and for being of such a great service to Sumas, Lynden, and Everson during these truly frightening times. I had never known what true fear was like until we started taking on water inside our cab--had it been lighter outside, my dad would have never taken the routes he'd taken. I think we both learned a thing or two, but this experience has been one that I've learned a lot from, especially, and in more ways than one. It will surely be a story to tell my kids and their grandkids in the future. God bless you, your team, and your family for offering help in such terrifying times. 💖
Job No.1 for the government once this disaster is over is to build dikes all along the Nooksack River so this doesn't happen again. I know that will be expensive but probably less expensive than the damage that's done when the river overflows its banks.
On the Gulf Coast we have the “Cajun Navy” that is not actually an organization, but a tradition of private boat owners effecting rescues after hurricanes, etc. I guess you folks doing that with tractors in the northwest are the “First Armored Division.” May God’s blessings be on all of you for spending your time and fuel while risking your well being and equipment in the service of those in need! Great job, and will be a great thing for your great grandkids to watch and be proud of.
Hi this town is right on the Canadian border, On the Canadian side it is a huge disaster, In reference to the Cajun Navy on the Canadian side there is many rivers popular for salmon fishing including the Fraser River in which has many fishing charter services , A lot of these guys if not all are offering the use of their boats for free to get people to and from Stranded areas and also rescues, this is a major disaster on both sides of the border , This is a major milk and Chicken and Fruit growing area many farms are totally down with lost of livestock, Also no feed able to get to the farms that are slightly higher ,
@@squamishfish I am aware of the horrible flooding in BC, as I have friends up there. I will continue to pray for our Canadian brothers and sisters as they all work to recover. This will not be a fast recovery, especially the farmlands and highways, roads/tracks that were washed out. I’m not surprised at the boat owners helping and rescuing folks in need in that area, as my experience with folks in that area has been very inspiring. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You’re a true hero. Such a great example of a real and brave man. It’s sad and scary the power of Mother Nature, teaching us a lesson, but men like you give men a good name! Bless you.

From the East Coast: I have watched this video several times and can only say thank you and your employees for doing such a wonderful job. This country needs more men and women like you and those who helped rescue so many. Thanks again.
I live in this community, m come together to help each other is so heart felt. Lived here in Everson my entire life. Thank you to all those that gave time to help their neighbors.
You scared the crap out of me at first , man.....then crying as you rescued the man and daughter omg, Water is very scary, what a great person you are ...thank you for sharing your video.. I'm in Bc up from the flooded south where they are flooded also ..sending prayers to all affected
I’m on the other side of the border 🇨🇦 and look after some clients on the Canada side. Was so worried about them that I didn’t even think about the 🇺🇸 side🥺😩. You all keep safe out there too, PRAYING for you!
Wow! That was incredible. All I could think about was God's hand led you there just in time to rescue that pair. Thank you for being willing! God is good.
so very brave of you. My sister was rescued from Everson by her kids in a truck with a lift kit so I have been watching and praying for all affected by this flood. Thank you to all who are out braving this to save people. GOD BLESS YOU
God bless you guys for stepping up to rescue people. Those flood waters looked pretty hairy in places. JCB comes to the rescue ❤️🇬🇧. A gold standard in the heavy equipment industry like Landrover is in the automotive industry. To everyone at Scholten's thanks for all your help. 💞💞💞
Brother you are a true hero I love you all who risk their lives to protect others . Super easy to say “thank you “but been there in the disaster zone it’s made for tough guys like you .
I grew up near Everett as a kid, experienced a couple of floods, but nothing this bad, we just had to hunker down for a little bit. This one is crazy, super glad you are around and brave and caring enough to help people out. Thanks for being so generous to these people.
I was married in that town and grew up around there and it saddens me to see so much destruction but I'm glad people like you are trying to do something about it. Those were some very brave rescues.
U are a hero for risking Ur own equipment and life to save overs. Not many ppl would have the balls to do what u did. Thank God there are ppl like u out there
I've never been one for scary movies but I've got to tell you I just about made a mess with this video! I'm familiar with Sumas and this footage is so shocking and I feel so sorry for the residents there! You are a local hero for taking your magnificent tractors out to help these people in their time of need. It makes me feel warm and safer to know that people are still good. You're the best!
Tractor Hero's To The Rescue! You guys are so awesome for doing that for those communities. Thank you so very much. And thank you for sharing this with all of us. You were able to show us just how bad it is up there. Local media down south isn't showing the vast devastation that you have. This community needs our help in a *BIG* way. Say strong up there. PNW Strong!
Oh my goodness I am so thankful for you, and your teammates, for your willingness to venture into the unknown! This video shows so much more of what was happening, than those of us outside of North County could have imagined. I truly have tears. I can't thank you and your crews enough for your bravery. GOD BLESS YOU!
It’s amazing how the community of North Whatcom really came together both during and after the flood. It’s great that people didn’t sit back and wait to be asked people like you just stepped in to help.
This was the REAL America speaking and acting. No-one was concerned what Gender, skin-colour or politics were in play, Americans stood up and said 'We are here to help.
My grandparents lived in Sumas on Morton St. just off Cherry St. from the early 70's until their passing. I remember visiting there many times, staying for a week at a time sometimes when I was younger and visiting later in life when an adult. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought a flood of this magnitude would happen. Looking on Google maps now is rather depressing seeing how the town has changed...and now this flood, it's very tragic. Thoughts and prayers to the residents..Mr. Scholten you're a hero!
Wow, that was a remarkable video. God was using the folks at Scholtens Equipment (and many others) for good on that day. A tip off the hat to you, Mike, for doing that work. My son's house flooded in Nooksack, and we sure realized what a blessing it is to have friends, community and family looking out for those who have experienced loss....... We thank God for the generosity shown by so many in North Whatcom County during this unprecedented time.....
Seriously could not be more thankful for all of you guys out there on tractors, in boats, anything you could to rescue us. I have never felt such heartbreak and restoration at the same time. Thank you so, so much for risking your own lives and equipment.
You are really brave to be driving through that deep water as it scared me watching you. Thank goodness for the compassion of people like you to help out others you don’t even know. You are a good man. I feel so bad for the people there going through this
Praise be to God for people like this! Obviously a good hearted, respectful man. I would bet he would never be a "lawless rioter" the world is so overwhelmed with.
Wow! Jesus said, "when you do it unto one of the least of these, you do it unto Me! I don't know you but I'm thankful that you care enough to risk your own life to save others. Blessings to all you rescuers!🙏🏻👍🏻
Hey Mike, you will find the transmission is now full of water mixed with transmission oil. It’s probably milky white on the dip stick. I just changed my transmission oil Sunday and found it mixed with water from getting into water that was just 12-18 inches of water. You were in much higher water than I have ever been in. You may want to check the rear differential and hydraulic fluid too for signs of water. Just a thought.
It’s incredible that Sumas only recently had the “Super Bowl Flood” in early February 2020 in which the whole town was a couple feet under water, and now they’re under 3-5 feet. Century’s flood. Wish I had a boat to help people. God bless you for helping!
I just want to say, God Bless you! I'm touched by your willingness to rescue and care for those left in the flood. There needs to be more people like you. This is a well produced and filmed video. My thought's and prayers to out to all of you! I'm in SO CAL but I'm from the Skagit Valley area of WA.
It’s heartbreaking to see downtown sumas look like that. It’s all devastating, but to see somewhere you recognize underwater is crazy! I live in Canada now but lived in lynden growing up, both places have been so awfully impacted by these rain storms and floods. Thank you for caring in jumping into action to help with flood relief efforts!!

These are the real Canadian heroes right here ~ God Bless You 💜💌 We so need real leaders like you in this country...Thank You for your real and sincere service 🎁🙏🇨🇦
Great work. Now lend a hand getting that Nooksack river under control so the waters can really go down. They are doing their part in Abbotsford to pump out 500,000 gal a min to the Fraser which will take the water away but as of right now the Nooksack river in WA is what is causing all the flooding and it is still draining into the floodplain.
