Important figures: ~38 MWe, sourcing all straw from within 50 miles away. 1000 bales per day, and 36 bales per truck delivery, implying ~28 truck deliveries per day. Implicitly ~0.9 MWe-hr per bale. Storage is 3 days' worth, or ~3000 bales.

So I wonder: If the on-site storage is only for 3 days' worth of straw, and wheat is only harvested for a small fraction of any year, that implies there's a whole lot of straw being stored somewhere else. Where and how?

Obviously the sellers (farmers). They have storage facilities. Other storage is by stacking on the field. The top of the stack would probably be too humid but the rest is protected.Or is possible even to cover the top with some plastic foil. If you google you will find sellers.
