- Friends and I went off roading in the woods but there was a lot of rain before that day. Also this mud is almost pure clay under the surface so that didn't help either! :-)
Jeeps:
4.7 V8 WJ Grand Cherokee with Quadra-Drive, 2 inch lift kit and 245/75/16 Cooper Discoverer STT PRO tires.
2.5 TD (turbo diesel) XJ Cherokee, stock with Command Trac transfer case and Bridgestone Dueler all terrain tires.
Recovery vehicle: Belarus 820 4x4 tractor

I have a wj same color 4.7 limited. Runs and drives like a dream with 210,000 miles.
I had a wj with a factory 2.7 turbo diesel engine but I was sorry I didn't take the v8. This is my friends WJ and it's really nice ride.

Limited slip front and rear! Now that's 4wd!!!!!
If I had one I would only take it in snow or the beach. Open area's I wouldn't wanna scratch up the paint . Mud sticks to everything

Yes, less than an inch below the surface is pure clay. When I grabbed the mud with the showel it was so sticky that it was difficult to remove the mud from the shovel. Some aggressive tires with the momentum...maybe! 😁

I once had one of these baught a bad one on impulse, they didn't take care of it, blue smoke, engine sludge. I still fell in love so I will be looking for a better one here soon.that 4wd system is amazing
Yes, if Quadra-drive works well it's really awesome off road vehicle. I had WJ with 2.7 CRD (turbo diesel) engine before.

У Black Jeep были плохие шины, но у Grand Cherokee здесь были шины MT. Но, несмотря на хорошую резину, эта грязь - почти чистая глина, и в ней не сложно застрять. Надеюсь, вы меня понимаете, я использую гугл переводчик.

Я сам катаюсь на УАЗ Патриот Cooper discovery a/t 3
и скажу, что травленая резина с 2.2 до 1.5 это две больше разницы, но в вашем случае от этого зависило лишь откуда идти за трактором)
Один у меня был на джипе до Cooper Discoverer AT3. Отличная шина для всего, кроме глубокой грязи. Но она даже не предназначена для этого, хотя по сравнению с другими шинами AT, в грязи она неплоха.

Quad drive seems to almost never peg leg
Quads are great for this. This is swampy area, Grand is too heavy and XJ was on street tires. 😁

Istina da najvecu ulogu imaju gume. XJ je ovdje bio na starim AT gumama, ali Grand je imao MT. Ovo je mocvarno podrucje, Crna Mlaka kraj Jastrebarskog pa cak i frend sa ovim traktorom zna imat problema na ovom podrucju. Ljepljivo blato, cak tesko i sa miniwashem ide dolje, zapuni gume i to je to. Kad se uđe u ovo blato, samo gas i bez stajanja! 😁

It would help on the Grand Cherokee but the XJ is on AT tires. Although this is difficult to walk through because this is swamp area.

Ordentliche Reifen für Off Road würden schon enorm helfen, ich fahre den selben Jeep aber mit Mt Reifen und den hält nix auf.
XJ is now lifted and with MT tires. WJ was on MT tires here in the video but this mud is very sticky. Sometimes even tractors get stuck in that forest.
Those dudes just standing there could have helped push the purple one before it got stuck

Actually WJ had Cooper STT PROs here but this mud is so sticky. MT tires in combination with momentum is the only way for this mud.

ZJ is one of my favorite Jeeps but this mud is so sticky. Only good tires and momentum could work here ... I think. LOL
I understand. I live in Kentucky and if you live in the countryside next to a river like I do a empty field will be a swamp hole and not look like it. The truck in my profile picture got stuck in a mud hole and it took me 4 days and 3 different full sized trucks couldn't even make it back to me to pull me out. I had a friend with a ZJ pull me out. After that I said fuck that truck and and saved up some money and bought my 1998 grand Cherokee with the 5.2 AWD. I put 31s on it and so far this thing hasn't left me stranded on a trail yet.
@@rustbucketgarage6867 that's awesome! I had WJ and I wanted V8 ZJ but I couldn't find good one (I'm from Europe, Croatia and there's not many of these). Than I found clean XJ with factory turbo diesel engine. I like it and it's great for European forest trails that are quite narrow sometimes. BTW I just got back from wheeling. 😁
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar I've never seen a diesel xj or zj in the United States. I've heard of them but haven't seen one in person. Those are rare.
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar also I like that jeeps are on a short wheelbase. In the states a full sized truck like a Silverado or f150 feels like a tank on the road compared to a xj or even my zj. I'd rather have a vehicle like my jeep than a full sized truck or suv. Especially for off roading. And I loved watched top gear back in the day so I already know how small the roads are compared to here. I couldn't imagine driving full sized American truck or suv on your roads or trails.

This mud is almost pure clay so it's not hard to stuck here even with some of the best MT tires. But it's all about fun! 😉

This mud is really nasty. The Grand Cherokee should not let off the gas once it was start moving in this mud. My XJ was on old worn out AT tires, so it's no wonder we got stuck. At that time I was just waiting for my order, tires and lift kit. 🙂

My Jeep wasn't lifted at that time and it was on old worn out AT tires. Also this mud is really sticky. But we had fun and adventure and that's most important. 😉
