    Brilliant timing, I was about to buy a Happijac from USA to UK as I thought the new Lippart bed lifts would have the runners under the bed which I didn't like. Youve just saved me a tonne of money and helped my build.Thank you!

      Its working really well, ive got it rigged up to the power now and been testing it, the electrics is a bit odd, not as the info leaflet. If you need any info just ask. My next video will be fitting the upholstery and a demo of the bed working. Thanks for watching.

    Fabulous video - thank you for sharing. Thinking of installing in DIY van conversion. Could you please indicate how much headspace is lost in the seating area beneath when the bed is fully raised? This will obviously depend on the thickness of the mattress foam chosen - so with this eliminated, what height is lost from the Lippert frame and mechanism please? Much appreciated!

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi, the bed frame is 110mm and the foam is 100mm and there’s about 20mm air space above when the bed is fully raised.

      @@exploresandtosummit Thanks so much for the info - that's really helpful & much appreciated. We don't want to be bent double in the living space beneath whilst the bed is raised. Is your Crafter H3 to accommodate the head height lost with the bed? We have to accommodate 6ft 2" and are debating length and height of van to purchase. Thank you!

      @@VolodimirPizura I’m 6ft and standing up in the van is fine, I do have to bend down in the bed section. Mine is the standard height, I think there is a higher version but not many I’ve seen.

      @@exploresandtosummit Thanks so much for this - really helpful. If you have a moment would you be able to please provide the floor to ceiling height under the fully raised bed and also in the front living space? I'm considering an H3 van vs H2 but this may introduce other external height related challenges!

    Really enjoying all your videos. May I ask you, how did you secure the two 15mm ply centre divider pieces in place? I'm referring to the 2 pieces that have the tracks for the bed runners on. I'd like to do something similar and want to ensure they can hold the full weight of the bed. Thank you.

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for watching. I fixed them with flat metal plates screwed to the edge of the ply and then screwed to the van body. The bottom is stronger when the seating and the the units was installed. The top I used the same method using metal brackets, there all hidden once the wall panels and ceiling panels are fitted, hope that makes sense.

    • @exploresandtosummit

    This is something ive been researching for so long now. Starting my conversion very soon and the lippert bed lift system. Question is can i do it myself. You nade it look very easy. Ive been told 2 days to a week for installation at £400 a day. You seem very skilled, i was wondering what your thoughts are. Also ive seen people make the bed frame from t-slotted aluminium profile system which might make the job a bit easier for me.

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could do it yourself but use the bed kit complete with the slats, that would be a lot easier, as everything slots together. Where in the world are you?

  • @digb1
    @digb1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hi. It looks to me you have installed the tracks at the short side of the bed and I can see your lift works perfectly. The Lippert instructions say to install on the long side of the bed. I’m guessing this isn’t an issue? Any advice appreciated.

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Installing them on the long side wouldn’t work for me as the van sides are angled, you need a straight wall for the tracks. I’ve been using it a lot and had not issues.

    • @digb1
      @digb1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@exploresandtosummitThanks pretty much what I thought. I also have a Crafter and was thinking along the same lines with the curved sides. I guess they might have stipulated using the long side for the tracks in case the straps were too short. Can I ask you what width and length you used for the bed frame to suit the Crafter?

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @digb1 I can measure it properly later. But what I did is measure the width of the roof at the highest point and measured myself so I knew I could fit the bed in length which was 6ft

    Bed looks great, I am looking at using this system also, but am concerned about the 60kg lift limit. Did you get a total weight for your design? Thanks Bruce. NZ

    • @exploresandtosummit
      @exploresandtosummit  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, the 60 kg is the limit of the bed, so when it’s down and resting on something, like my bench seating, you can load it what ever you like. 60kg is two and a half bags of sand which is really heavy, my bed is no where near that. Ive now got it connected to power and gave it a test with extra weight on it and it goes up and down with no problems. hope that helps. Thanks for watching, any other questions on it just ask 👍
