Great info and video. We don't have a home nor allowed to work on our vehicles at our apartment parking lot. We're visiting the local U-Haul to get a hitch installed.
This is indeed an excellent video. Be advised, this can be a tricky install if you can't get the vehicle lifted. Otherwise, it's a piece of cake with these instructions .
Took me about an hour and a half to install with no problems. (sorry, I work slow and meticulous). I got the hitch on by just loosening the rear muffler hanger only. Tight spot, but got my fasteners threaded, tightened and torqued. I'm 74, so it was no problem working on a blanket on the ground. Thanks for the info.
This is a very impressive video! So organized, such clear and simple directions. You have many different talents and abilities on display in this video! I rarely comment on videos but this was the best video of its kind I've seen. No wasted words or moments.
Very knowledgeable about installing a hitch. I hope that all U-Haul personnel are as knowledgeable and careful. Want to install one on my CRV but the part about releasing the muffler has me worried
John, All U-Haul hitch professionals are well trained and held to a very high standard! And lowing an exhaust for an installation is one of the most common procedures we do and is required on almost every vehicle. If you have any reservations about the process, stop in to your local U-Haul center and talk to the Hitch Pro. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have! Great video. I just did mine, by myself on the garage floor. It is the Curt hidden hitch. Only real problem was a harness plug on the driver's side. It would not allow the hitch to go up or move forward enough for the bolts to line up on the driver's side. It took me 2 hours to figure this out. I popped the plug out of it's attachment and the hitch went right up and in. I am guessing the plug is for the hands-free tailgate. We have an EX-L so does not have that installed. Getting the torque wrench on the frame bolts was a pain too.
Great video! Nice job! Other hitches require some cutting plastic on the bottom of the bumper. This one is more visible so I guess that is the trade off.
If you mean the Kick sensor to open the tailgate then yes, It will still function. There are several hitch options for the 2017-2025 Honda CR-V. Check out this video of a hidden hitch install. It reduces the sensor area but does not completely block it and has a sleek hidden look. th-cam.com/video/vOw2dhsFMGA/w-d-xo.html
I just installed a hitch on my 2018 CRV. Now when I hit bumps on the road, the large rear muffler hits the hitch mounting nuts! What do I do to prevent that. It makes a loud and annoying knocking sound for every bump I hit! Thanks!
The ratchet strap/ sport strap you use to lower the exhaust, do you have a uhaul part number so I may use at my center? The orange sport strap is just too long and sometimes inconvenient.
For a Honda CRV $250.00 in parts, 100 dollars installation, tax 20, total bill 367.00 You think UHual would give a break on parts and install, since we will be using there trailers.
It does, as the title and description state it fits the 2017 thru 2024 Honda CRV Gas Engine. It will not fit The Hybrid version. Here is a Link to the Hitch for the Hybrid. th-cam.com/video/umzu_y0KefU/w-d-xo.html
Interesting that there was no trimming or notching of the bumper skirt and under panel as required in other install videos. Perhaps they just left that part out of the video?

Just finished installing the hitch on my 2019 CRV. Took me about an hour, on the driveway, by myself. PS: I'm 79 years old.
Great Job!
That was the best “How To” video I have ever watched .. good job!
This lady needs to make all instructional videos on you tube….
And this the one and only time anyone will take this much care during an installation
Excellent video and very impressed with the step by step instructions. Good job!
Smart work by a very competent technician. Thank you, U-Haul.
You are very welcome!
Woah! Cool "bolt fishing" tool. I need! 😁💕👍

That it is.
Solid video thanks for the help!!
Great video. Thank you.
MUY PROFECIONAL GRACIAS CRISTINA
nice job
Right on.
Can U-Haul also handle CRV models with hands free tail gate (like touring) since the sensor is just where the hitch should be.
Is it going to work for the auto lift gate models that have a sensor right in the center.
Nice work!
What's recommended load for Honda CRV for cargo with hitch?
Does the rear reverse camera still function with the tow hitch?
Thanks very well done video! Do you happen to know the diameter of the bolts for the for the size of the fish wire?
Thanks!
Will the power tailgate still work I just got a crv 2025 hybrid touring

Great , impressive detailed video! How long does it take to install both hitch an wiring ?
It depends on the experience of the installer. It could take anywhere from 1-2.5 hours.

cut or grind the bolts a bit and/or replace the rubber hold down for the muffler.
Donde está ubicada para ponerle uno al mio

Please feel free to reach out to me via email if you are a U-Haul employee. -Kiel
Donde lo instalan que montar uno
How much downward weight can that hold on the CRV?
The rear of a 2019 comes w/a bar on back for towing. When you remove that bar to install the hitch, how do tow trucks hook up to tow vehicle?
You won't need a tow truck. Its a Honda 😜
Hook up U-Haul trailer to Honda crv
Yes
Would this work on a CRV 2021 Sport?
This hitch also fits all 2021 Honda CR-V models except the Hybrid Model.

u haul just quoted me $570.00 for hitch and installation. too much.

I'm out of soapy water. Could just hawk tuah on that thing.
Spray Lubrication and plain water could also help, just in case your aim is subpar! Thanks For watching!
Can this hitch fit on a 2024 Honda CRV? Hitch part #: CQT71268

Okay so, what if I forgot my lube and strap at my job?
