It's awesome to hear that Battlestar Galactica had such a lasting impact on you! The storytelling and characters really set the standard for sci-fi shows to come.
I guess I was just the right age when G80 hit the UK, because I really loved it. Even now, as an adult who can spot all of its faults, I still get a good nostalgic vibe from it. "Launch When Ready." 🚀🚀🚀
I've just started rewatching the show. I have it on DVD. Still fun to watch. It was released theatrically here in Canada before it premiered on TV. There were numerous differences. The Cylons were lizard-like creatures in body armour, Baltar was executed. There were aliens running the casino instead of humans. And scene where Starbuck is scaled in the launch tube... when Athena seems him on the camera, all she sees is his naked back. When he pops up, we only see him from the waist up... nude.
It's awesome that you're rewatching the show! The differences between the theatrical release and the TV version are fascinating. It’s like watching a whole new experience unfold!
do you remember the episode, where they landed on the holiday planet, where they were being eaten, i had nightmares about that one for years. then there was another re run and i dreamed about the next episode every week and i was 6 when i had seen them before
Glactica 1980!!!!!!!! 🤭😂 I was 9 during the original series. Got toys, models, comics, novels adapt'. The modern version, I was worried about, until I saw it -got my best friend to watch it, we would watch some episodes at his house on giant flatscreen with beers and food. I shared some of the original. I have the original and modern on Blu-ray, even 1980.
It was good for the days it came out loved watching it as a young teen . Was not too sure at first about the remake but I find that I like the remake even better.
I didn't care for the remake. For some reason showrunner Ronald D Moore didnt believe in using lights when filming his remake. The showrunners for Star Trek Picard believed the same way.
I watched about half of the first series of the remake and there was maybe one (if dimory serves) character that shouldn't have been drowned at birth. GO CYLONS!
I was 14 when the original Battlestar Galactica premiered in 1978 .One of my favorite sci-fi shows .Loved the stories and the cast.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Nostalgia really has a way of connecting us to our past, and it's great to hear how much the G80 means to you.
1978 Battlestar Galactica was such a classic series.
Absolutely! The storytelling and special effects for its time were truly groundbreaking. It laid the foundation for many sci-fi series that followed.
So, uh, what the hell does the title have to do with the video?
Great question! Sometimes titles take a creative twist to grab attention. I hope the content still delivered for you!
It's ¢alled . . . "Cli¢kb@it". 😶

No way it was only on for one season, I used to love it growing up SMH lol
Thanks for sharing your nostalgia! It's amazing how shows can stick with us even after just one season.
Loved all the series and movies. And forget not CAPRICA.
CAPRICA might be the underdog of the franchise, but it’s like that friend who shows up to the party late and still manages to steal the spotlight!

Nightmare fuel for sure! I mean, who thought a holiday planet could be so terrifying? Talk about a holiday gone wrong!
Yes, this episode was a part of the 2-hour pilot. Which, resulted in the death of the last living reptile Cylon commander (smile ... smile).
Where did all the time go....I miss those days. :(
I think time just borrowed my watch and never returned it! Seriously though, nostalgia hits hard sometimes!

Sounds like the ultimate binge-watching experience! Just make sure to keep the snacks away from the remote-those space battles can get intense!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed both the original and the remake! It's always interesting to see how stories evolve over time.

Haha, sounds like you were rooting for a Cylon cleanse! Maybe they should have just handed out life jackets instead?
Bears.. Beets..
Looks like we have a fellow fan of "The Office" here! Bears and beets definitely make for a memorable combo!
