Sheriff Joe was not your normal cop. He was old school , like some cop in an Elmore Leonard novel. I could see him knocking back a couple drinks with Sonny and talking to him about keeping the peace , not letting the violent side of ''biker politics'' start up in Arizona. And other than the low level conflict ongoing around Cave Creek , AZ. has been pretty peaceful. Maybe Sonny and Sheriff Joe's alleged friendship had some benefits to both sides.....But we will never know.
The Sons had a close relationship with Chief Wayne Uncer. Lol. That’s a joke but for real, a lot of these guys had friendships with cops, usually to help them out…. As far as him telling on himself, I’m guessing he was just freaking out.
I think “Every Cop is a Criminal. And All the Sinners Saints”. When people rag on IO. And other clubs with cops. Or cop ties. It’s nothing new. Remember Sonny was also in Show bizz and almost a sort of a voice for the community. So was George who I have a deep respect for. He is a man’s Man. I grew up on Staten Island not far from Sammy. I was friendly with Tommy Ballottis nieces. These guys were around us growing up. Even though as kids we were not directly involved with anything. They were stand up guys we looked up to for help and our community was safe. La Cosa Nostra is very similar to MC clubs. They are parallel lines. However not everyone outlaw is a criminal. But every gangster is. That being said even though LE was off limits to Mafia life. Their paths had to cross. Same in Mc life. Many times to help each other out. One hand always washed the other. Maybe if things stayed more like that our system would not be as bad as it is now. Sammy also says Trumps a Gangsta. And you need a gangsta to go up against Gangstas like Putin etc… I totally agree. So I’m sure Sonny rubbed elbows with the sheriff.
You know I’m part of an MC but I was having this conversation outside of the MC world. I was talking about cholos because of our club but anyway, it is the rest of America’s opinion that every cholo is a gang member because cholos and gang members are synonymous. But that is not always the case, especially with the older generations not every cholo is a gangster or gang member. I should say a lot of people either don’t know that or seem to forget that or don’t realize it, especially out here in California and whenever you see someone dresses like that, you think gang member. But that isn’ always the case. I met Sheriff Joe at VFW post 109 (Legion Riders) near Tucson AZ. He is a really nice guy. He was running for Gov. at the time. I can see how he may have met Sonny in the Phoenix as Joe was going everywhere campaigning for Governor. BTW, Sammy is well known in AZ as well, a known snitch and drug dealer. I wouldn't believe a damn thing he says.
I think that Tucker Carlson speaking at Sonnys memorial was a class act. Carlson is a man who thinks for himself (which is rare today) i am just throwing that out there.

But if you know Pee Wee , he calls everyone bro lol. Sonny calls the cops on his wife, tells them she has a gun in the car etc, essentially dry snitches on her and he wasn’t put out bad?
