An inspirational video for many reasons. And your wife still rides too; awesome. I hope you have many riding years and adventures together to come. Thank you.
It's a different world on the motorcycle, just like driving a tractor trailer (18 wheeler) again thats another world.i did alot of camping on the bike in summer and drove truck in the winter.like the song said 'looking at the world through a windshield.'
John Smith - wow. You are a beggar for punishment listening to me more than once! Retired? Who said getting old was bad? Enjoy your adventures while you can.
I L❤️VED this, thank you! I don’t ride a motorcycle (though I DO have a wishful eye on a 150cc motor scooter 😉), but I’m an over-60 soul getting back into camping after neglecting my love of it for over 30 years. My gear-purchase decisions have been governed by my determination to be efficient, safe, and COMFORTABLE. Great to see how someone else accomplishes similar objectives. Blessings on your journeys, and thanks for sharing!!💐
I never would have thought you could get all that on that Bike!!! Amazing. That hidden storage space on the Bike is really cool and that's a really nice tent set up. Thank you for sharing and you two stay SAFE.
My wife and I rode and camped all around Britain and Ireland on rental motorcycles years ago. We were surprised by the lack of picnic tables at the camp sites. It makes it a bit challenging to have to cook and eat on the ground. One in five sites might have some kind of table. Still, it was a great experience and we didn't die on the road. That is like a win win with everyone going the wrong way and them round around's.
Great stuff; my wife of 43 years just passed on a month ago today. She was always a top squaw at camping. I `aint tried it yet on my C50...But I plan to!
Funny. I'm a senior who rides a dual sport on 1,400 mile road trips. Camping in the Modoc National Forest. Where I park within a lava tube portal. Using the cold molten stone to escape summer heat. It has, as do some others, year-around ice further underground . A rolled piece of carpet and Hudson Bay Trade Blanket ease my tired old bones. I recommend a saved GPS entry route so departures are speedy.
I'm going out on my first motorcycle camping trip in a few days. I plan to camp in style, bought the RedVerz Atacama and other stuff. Camping is fun! At least planning for it. I also look forward to planning food since i like cooking. Your videos are an inspiration. Thank you
Thumbs-Up #1K-Plus I am, Tuesday evening 25 June 2019! The best of you 2 is that you Sir have a lady that enjoys what you do AND she drives her own motorbike. I love that about you 2! I have nought to see a woman in California so far driving her own. Plenty of passengers, but no drivers. Top of my list, she has to drive her own. Cheers!
good bike for camping ,good storage , have been to sydney 3 times on my triumph , every time i think i get better with my luggage , but i do tend to take to much clothes , do not take a stove has , plenty of places ,to get or cook food , ,, always take a warm sleeping bag , two man tent which is good for me , and yes a blow up bed , no pillow, but i think i will get a black wolf , very interesting safe driving ,george
Wow, lots of stuff. I have a NC700X. Wife won't come with camping (that's ok) but I camp much simpler. I do like his chair. I'm addicted to the frunk. Very nice even when not camping.
Great Bike, NC 750X, so smooth and balanced, and I put my helmet in the 'tank' storage box on mine, so no need for a top box. Not long sold mine as nowhere to keep it, but might get another again if I move to a house with a garage again.
Not too shabby. Gotta have *some* comforts in one's dotage. Bit jealous...we can only manage about 3/4 of that. Mind you, we have a much bigger tent...and we are on one bike. :)
Good video mate my riding day's are over but it's nice to other oldies still living the dream unfortunatly i gotta get about in an old 4x4 wagon but hey still having fun ride safe might see you out there some time
Return Rider - it’s takes a while to work out what suites you best. I now have a “list” on my phone to check against so I know I have all of the stuff packed!
Glad I’m not the only one that prefers to Glamp!!! 😂 I go off-tarmac (Byways) with my 701 to the campsites, so I’m building a Single Wheel Trailer - that will sit behind the bike and carry all that stuff! 😉
Speaking as a fellow Sr. I can fully appreciate your wonderful humor..especially as having had the pleasure of owning a little Honda 350 street bIke uncle upon a time..just best wishes and thx from PDX US of A... A new fan Rhonda
Great video. Keep in mind that your bike has more storage where the gas tank would be so most of us would have to make alternative packing arrangements. Also having a second bike goes a long way in spreading the gear between both bikes. I'm bringing camping gear on a trip to the US in July but I'll be staying at hotels/etc for most of the trip besides one or two nights most likely. That way I can pack less but still get some camping in.
The "frunk" storage is amazing and really handy. It will not take my helmet but then it is 5xl for my over-large and completely empty head... The NC is a fantastic bike and, like many owners, I would recommend it to everyone.
I'm 64 and prefer the minimilist way when it comes to camping, but I admire your commonsense and practical approach and the massive cavern, you call a glove box, on that bike.👍
I have the same bike, and that box is AMAZING! It's so handy. I ride every day and it sure helps when doing the shopping. I have so much storage. With that box, the side panniers and top box I have over 125 litres of storage. I bought the bike after watching one of his videos about it. :D I was already thinking about one, but he sold me on it.
Going this weekend with my NC. Some good tips. Just spent $150 on a better sleeping bag as the one from Aldi I have is too small. Got a Kathmandu Roamer which has a lot more room. Drone is going in the glove box. Riding to Wave Rock near Hyden in WA.
That is an impressive set-up. Every summer, I attend several organized motorcycle camping events. I routinely pack a tent ( with a ground tarp for underneath and a HUGE tarp to drape over the tent ), an air mattress ( with a battery-operated air pump ), a small pillow, a sleeping bag, a quad-chair, a collapsible cooler ( I purchase water/pop, snacks, and ice at local town ),two changes of clothes, necessary toiletries and towels, small flashlight ( torch ), and a pair of sneakers. Most events provide a food vendor on site. If not, I go into local town and find the cheapest place to eat. The events I attend are just weekend adventures. I enjoy the journey to get there and back, and enjoy the folks that also camp/ attend at these events.
I have several videos of my motorcycle camping soirees on my channel under the headings of " The Continuing Summer Adventures of Doc & Pops " . Pops is my eldest brother.
A Great selection of gear, easier with 2 Bikes but my Wife is a Pillion on my NC 750X DCT, so we are very limited, and as I am in my 70's we now use Hotels or B & B's for more comfort. Great Video though, Thanks.
@Warren552011 We do find we now need a B&B or a Chain Hotel, we prefer the hotels that don't include breakfast as they are cheaper and we can always get a Breakfast local or on route, We cant manage a large Breakfast these days, so we don't want to pay £15.0 for one and only have the Toast and Tea .
@Fred Flynstone I am very Lucky as my Wife is an Excellent Pillion and she loves to be on the Bike, Even coming back from North Wales in heavy she did not complain. It is a terrible shame that your wife is not sharing your Bike.
Thanks for sharing your list of creature comforts. Sharing gear between 2 motorcycles really frees up a ton of space. You might have to trim down quite a lot to travel alone.
Old people eh, stop it, Im starting to resemble that at 60. I used to be able to pack that well, now I just have a bigger bag. A lot of my camping involves winter rallys, like in the mountains behind Canberra in July and a lot of my stuff is geared towards not dieing of hypothermia, and is a bit more compact and a lot more expensive than some of your gear, however what you have suits you and your requirements. I gave up on air beds in the late 80s and went over to a thermarest for insulation, waking up a bit stiff and sore was becoming a constant reminder I wasnt 30 anymore and I discovered the exped air mattress that has a layer of down in it for insulation, comfort and warmth, not cheap though, no doubt now Ive got it aldi will bring out a copy that works as well for $20. The fact you two are still doing what you love is brilliant, well thought out, tetris master level packing and distribution of gear between you. Keep the shiny side up. Cheers
dhc4ever - ha! Yes getting old can suck. But it has its advantages too. We aren’t serious enough campers to invest in “the good stuff” which there is a lot of these days. So what we have suites us at present. And as you say, that’s what matters. Thanks for the feedback.
This video reminds me of an old car commercial where people kept piling out of a little Volkswagen Bug. Except this video has camping stuff, coming off of a motorcycle, let alone two full-grown adults. The couple is very good at packing all these items in a small space.
Hi, Great Video. I have a GSX S 1000 F and Bandit 1250 S, But, having seen your bikes, I looked them up on youtube (came across your video) I'm very impressed with what I see. I've been wanting to change the Bandit for something like a duel sports for quite a while but was unsure what to get. Like you, I have been riding all my life. I'm now in my late 70 seventies and still getting out every day on one bike or the other. And hope to go bike camping after Christmas when it cools down a bit. I love the helmet box. But what I cant find out is whether or not your 750 X has a Gear Indicator !! So, thanks for the video and introducing me to your bike, I think a 750 X might be just right for me! Graham. Bundaberg.
Just purchased a complete camping kit for my GS for my first “old fart” camping trip… come a long way since my 30s solo traveling thru the Philippines and Indonesia… before I was riding. Wouldn’t have even considered it had I not sampled the Sea to Summit self inflatable mattress… it’s actually more comfortable than the futon I sleep on every night! I’m just concerned about the energy factor, unloading the bike, pitching the tent, prepping the food… take out and Motel6 require ZERO energy… and cheaper than some Post Covid campgrounds!!!
You Sir have a rare commodity known as common sense! Fit for purpose gear that works for your needs. No style or fashion prizes being handed out at caravan parks hey.
Old fart camping for sure😁, and you’re on a motorcycle 👍👍and you take just about all the stuff I take with me as well. I don’t believe younger riders have much regard for us senior riders or what we take on a motorcycle weekender. At my age, (72)I don’t want give up camping but don’t want to sleep on the ground either (or be to uncomfortable) so I take a camping cot and and other comfort items. This is a good video. It is very informative for us senior riders that don’t want to give up living just because we’re.......well, old!
Allan Brown - funny you should mention the sink. We have a collapsible sink we take when “car” camping. But even we have to say “stop” at some point when loading the bikes !
Very informative video. A tent to stand up in...that might be the solution. We are also a couple, a little bit younger than you. But I hate having to crawl into a tiny dome tent. I might try to get a camping cot onto my bike. That makes buying from amazon a bit difficult. It is difficult whether you can really fit the bed of your choice into the selected tent. But if there is a will, there is a way...
Love your set up and especially your tent. As an ageing Billy-No-Mates I recently bought a lightweight compact tent just in case I decided to go on a camping trip with the NC750X. It never occurred to me that the chances of me actually being able to get into an 85cm tall wedge-shaped tent is quite small. The chances of being able to get out of it and stand up after a night on the ground is ZERO! I think I may be bed-and-breakfasting rather than camping if I do go on longer trips. 😀
C Cooper As the late, great, professional wrestler and man of few words, Giant Haystacks once said- “Don’t have no mates; don’t need no mates”. Seriously though; nothing wrong with solo biker camping at any age.
Yes. It’s a nice addition that I would miss if I bought a different bike. The design also puts the engine weight very low so this benefits the handling too.
something similar to me but I also have my camp bed as well , I tried the blow up mattress but it took to long to deflate small enough to pack away , and I also have my hill walking kit as well but I ride solo so I can use the pillion seat to stack extra stuff as well , cheers
chin laiyo - I’ve had trailers in the past. But I prefer to ride without one. We have all we need as we can spread them over two bikes. If we had to tour on one bike for both of us I would be towing a trailer again.
chin laiyo - how do I like the NC? Go to my channel and scroll thru the videos. There are a couple of reviews and lots of maintenance vids as well as travel. Should give you a good overview of what I think.
Great Video, i am 66 and the knees & back don't work as well as they used to. My question is what brand, height and size is that tent. Im not a fan of crawling around on the ground anymore. Thank you
Good selection, but I didn't see any chain lube! I loved your home made table, I think I'll have to make one too now, but I think a three legged one might be better on uneven ground. Some pretty good bike and camp gear from Aldi.
I’m with you, got to have a bit of comfort, and I’m only 37 haha. Just wish I was as well organised as yourself. I remember my head torch but forget that the batteries ran out.
You guts are great, as a kid I would lsah my wife and fear to my Harley chopper. Now at many decades I can't get up from the ground, but upright I can still ride. I can't sleep in my home bed, it hurts to much since the gob cracked down on pain relief. Mow if I can find a hotel with Lazy Boys, thats what I sleep on now. Now keep on riding.
Definitely the way to go - two bikes, sharing one tent space. What brand are the air beds? I still haven't found one small enough that it's easy to carry, yet still big enough to be comfortable. My bike gets cleaned once a year, usually.
Just passed my CBT and want to do a camp in wales but was worried i could take everything [Ive got a UM Renegade Classic, so what you did with the tent/ sleeping bag / using the pillion seat was brilliant!
An inspirational video for many reasons. And your wife still rides too; awesome. I hope you have many riding years and adventures together to come. Thank you.
Kassie Dreaneai - thanks. We appreciate your comment.
I'm a new Honda NC700X owner and am loving it. Thank you for sharing how to pack for a long trip. Your setup is awesome. God bless.
Simple goodness. Joy and fun guaranteed. Thanks so much for this.
Well organised. Makes camping trips on a bike for oldtimers like us so easy.

I have seen almost all of your videos, and I am very enjoyable, you are a practical, genius, tidy and polite person
Liked this so much I came back and watched again. Really useful as I prepare for my first adventure at the age of 65. The wonders of retirement.
John Smith - wow. You are a beggar for punishment listening to me more than once!

Never ceases to amaze me the ingenuity of people when motorcycle camping .

That was pleasant. It actually calmed me down.
My wife always insisted on taking a hairdrier - bloody big thing it was too. We only had a CX500 so not a lot of room.

Very cool your camping. Your videos are a inspiration. Congratulations!

Thanks. I know of others who use a cot when bike camping so it’s a viable option.
I'm using those same exact panniers and bags, GREAT STUFF! Thank goodness for NELSON RIGG
Dave Boyle - yep. I’m still loving them.
Also, LOVE your videos, thanks for providing sensible ones with tips and great visuals. Keep it up.
I'm looking for the stock number of those soft bags. Wanna help an old geezer out?

Not bad I installed a 110 inverter on my bike yrs ago , great plus , I hate cold morning s ,
LOL safe travels
A couple of old people LOL....You don't look a day over 30😸Safe camping and enjoy!
James Nickel - ha! We wish. But thanks for the compliment.
Honda NC750X Stuff any time enjoy and be safe all the best😄
Love your set up and especially your tent. As an ageing Billy-No-Mates I recently bought a lightweight compact tent just in case I decided to go on a camping trip with the NC750X. It never occurred to me that the chances of me actually being able to get into an 85cm tall wedge-shaped tent is quite small. The chances of being able to get out of it and stand up after a night on the ground is ZERO! I think I may be bed-and-breakfasting rather than camping if I do go on longer trips. 😀
C Cooper - yep. Know exactly how you feel. Especially that middle of the night “bugger I have to get up and pee” stuff.
C Cooper As the late, great, professional wrestler and man of few words, Giant Haystacks once said-
“Don’t have no mates; don’t need no mates”.
Seriously though; nothing wrong with solo biker camping at any age.
V Alaudae - agree. And anyway you get to meet and interact with way more people when you travel solo.
@@valaudae1809 Very true 👍. Now if only I could stop falling out with myself I will have it made....
I was amazed at how many things you pulled out of the glove box. Wasn’t aware they had that kind of storage.
Yes. It’s a nice addition that I would miss if I bought a different bike.
The design also puts the engine weight very low so this benefits the handling too.
Great video! Thank you.
I’m 72, great ideas here. Keep riding.
lol wow very impressof sir , cant believe how much stuff you have for two poeple . all basic needs nice n organlized .
Dale Masyk - thanks mate
Great watch, thanks for sharing that with us
Great video, you guys are doing a great job! We camp 2up so we have to travel a bit lighter
Trippin2UP - thanks. Don’t know how you do it!
We watch cool people like you!
Very nice, amayzing how much you can carry on that Honda NC 700
golden sheep - thanks mate.....NC750
I switched from a 1 man tunnel tent to a three man tent with massive porch . So nice having more room
something similar to me but I also have my camp bed as well , I tried the blow up mattress but it took to long to deflate small enough to pack away , and I also have my hill walking kit as well but I ride solo so I can use the pillion seat to stack extra stuff as well , cheers
I am the same, the whole minimalistic roughing it is overrated. Especially on a longer trip, a man needs his comforts.
Pasky - exactly
chin laiyo - I’ve had trailers in the past.
Any fool can be uncomfortable
Airbed no1 item, great video guys.
I like the ideal of taking a pillow case. Sure I will do the same now.
Has ya get older ya need your luxuries we are the same when we go on ah motorcycle rallys in the UK great video keep them coming
matthew burgess - thanks mate. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Hi what’s your tank bag make/model, enjoy your videos regards
ian mcintyre - it’s from a previous bike and not built for the NC
Givi makes a bike-specific tank bag for the 2016+ NC700/750 (EA116). I got mine at Twisted Throttle.com

Rusty Butter - yes. I forgot to mention the most essential item = WALLET with cash/card!
Honda NC750X Stuff -
You guts are great, as a kid I would lsah my wife and fear to my Harley chopper. Now at many decades I can't get up from the ground, but upright I can still ride. I can't sleep in my home bed, it hurts to much since the gob cracked down on pain relief. Mow if I can find a hotel with Lazy Boys, thats what I sleep on now. Now keep on riding.
Great ideas.. thanks
Definitely the way to go - two bikes, sharing one tent space.
What brand are the air beds? I still haven't found one small enough that it's easy to carry, yet still big enough to be comfortable.
My bike gets cleaned once a year, usually.
Jamie McFarlane - thanks mate
It’s an $8 one from BigW. It’s last 12 months so far.

Just passed my CBT and want to do a camp in wales but was worried i could take everything [Ive got a UM Renegade Classic, so what you did with the tent/ sleeping bag / using the pillion seat was brilliant!
As a very wise man once said. "You don't get old by being no fool" :D
