      @hybrid butterfly I’m absolutely going to agree with yiu! And he’s lacking in knowledge of simple household structure. 4 stoves for burners? Radiator for exhaust in the BR? Couch bed for daybed? I’m not so sure it has occurred to him that the space could be used for other things. I’ve seen desks for example. I know I’m being a little tough on him. He is a sweet guy

      @Erin-Thor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      No. His videos might but him a few cheap dinners a month. Ok, I may be wrong… just checked 2 million subs, 7 million views. TH-cam pays a channel 1/2000 th of a cent (.0002) per person who watches at least the first 6 seconds of a commercial, 1/200 th of a cent (.002) if you watch it all, which very few do. Most click skip after 5 seconds, and the channel gets nothing. If you assume that half the people (7,000,o00 views = 3,500,000) watched the first 6 seconds of at least one of the ads, he made $700 (a conservative estimate) from this video to date, since it first posted. So “this video” might pay for one months rent, maybe, possibly.

      @Erin-Thor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boyzaya15 If they watch 5 seconds, the channel gets nothing. If they use an ad blocker like Opera to watch, again… zero revenue. But you’re correct, that was a very conservative estimate. If you are like a friend of mine who watches TH-cam videos on the ROKU TH-cam enabled TV, they watch the entire ad, meaning 1/200 of a cent, or 10x more. This is because grabbing the remote, or KB to say skip takes as much time as watching he video, LOL! The issue is though most hit that skip button religiously. (Like Me 🤣) All I know is life’s expensive, if he can make a bucks off my cheap bum… GOOD FOR HIM!

    • @Erin-Thor
      @Erin-Thor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sifra Aprillia Fahira - There’s a video on TH-cam that explains their payment system. Less than 6 seconds, nothing. 6 seconds or more, 1/2000th of a cent. Watch the whole advertisement, 1/200th of a cent. But I watched that about a year ago, who knows… might be less now.

      This is what he is known for, misleading people for the sake of views. In the end, we are just pawns. What's upsetting to me is, a lot of people in the comment section are VERY clearly mislead into believing the apartment is $600. It's not. He said "roommates" not ... roommate. So there are at least 3 people sharing that space. That's $1800 a month. He just skirted around the truth for the entirety of the video. I mean, Bobby, c'mon, your rep is already on the line here. Why not just casually mention the rent is $1800 a month, or $600 a person?

    • @notAshildr
      @notAshildr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, it really is about location, and what your priorities are. Fact is, the money is in the cities. Now, your decision has to be whether you want to spend that money on staying in the city after work, or keep the money and invest time instead, to get from your workplace to your cheaper home out of city bounds. For some people that is not even a decision, because of lack of transportation or things like that.
      I absolutely agree that the prices are ridiculous, but there might not be as much freedom of choice as you'd hope. I came close to paying 500€ for under 100 sqft several times while simply trying to find a place to stay in the most expensive city in Germany. And that was because I needed a space to sleep as a student and those places were the only available ones. And I couldn't just continue living in a Hostel. In the end, it ended up being an hour-long commute and 400€ still, but for twice the square footage, and one less roommate. A friend of mine ended up sharing a repurposed office building with 16 strangers, one kitchen, and office bathrooms for 450€. Point is, something needs to be done, but you can't blame the people renting for making a bad choice, when they're not the ones responsible, but simply do it because of necessity. I think at some point the government has to step in, and put a lid on price per sqft. Because otherwise, nothing's going to change.

We have apartments here for $400-$500 even $300 depending on the area!!! 1st mistake that millennial‘s make is thinking you actually HAVE to be in a certain area to create! Instead of staying where it’s affordable, saving as much as you can, and create where you are and if necessary pay for travel to go places! I can't believe how modern NYC lowers expectations. Bro - If you wanted to move to NYC to create, you missed the bus by 40+ years. Artists can't afford to live here anymore. I'm a native and I hate that fact - but it is what it is. This video is so depressing. Happy with my rent stabilized apartment.

      Josh Done Yes!! That's very true. It makes me laugh how these people are just arriving here with the artist mentality. That's such a 2008 thing....Even earlier than that...He doesn't know what he's doing. He's doing that because his friends moved here and did it....The way he's living is just so not living at all....Plus I can't live with roommate's...i need my own...

      I am an artist. And yes, I moved to the East Village 41 years ago. And I do feel for the young creatives. But I also HOPE that everyone will stop calling One World Trade "The Freedom Tower". Yuck. Nowhere on that building does it say "The Freedom Tower". Saying that really makes you sound like you are a tourist..
