The title is misleading, bro. This isn't a 600 dollar apartment, it's a 600 dollar room, in a tiny apartment, a sharing situation. You can get a bigger room in a bigger apartment for the same price or less right across the hudson river in NJ, which is a 15 min train ride away from Manhattan.
J. Adán Herrera you mean take the train like some kind of savage and be a whole 15 minutes away from Manhattan?! 😱😱 I’m currently saving to buy in my city and as long as I’m on decent public transport routes and 20-30 minutes from work I’m perfectly happy to not be slap bang in the middle of the city centre
Angi Almonte try Jersey city (journal square area), West New York or Union city, those places are not as expensive but still very easy to get to the city
The fact that people are saying "for Manhattan it's a pretty good price" honestly terrifies me. How can it be so normalized to sell your soul for an absolutely miniature shitty apartment just to live in a big city? I swear to god people who ask for this much money for an apartment deserve no rights
There’s a million millionaires living in nyc and the number just keeps getting higher. People in Manhattan are rich and they can blow 10k for a 2 bedroom and still have money for a first class flight
Honestly, it really is about location, and what your priorities are. Fact is, the money is in the cities. Now, your decision has to be whether you want to spend that money on staying in the city after work, or keep the money and invest time instead, to get from your workplace to your cheaper home out of city bounds. For some people that is not even a decision, because of lack of transportation or things like that. I absolutely agree that the prices are ridiculous, but there might not be as much freedom of choice as you'd hope. I came close to paying 500€ for under 100 sqft several times while simply trying to find a place to stay in the most expensive city in Germany. And that was because I needed a space to sleep as a student and those places were the only available ones. And I couldn't just continue living in a Hostel. In the end, it ended up being an hour-long commute and 400€ still, but for twice the square footage, and one less roommate. A friend of mine ended up sharing a repurposed office building with 16 strangers, one kitchen, and office bathrooms for 450€. Point is, something needs to be done, but you can't blame the people renting for making a bad choice, when they're not the ones responsible, but simply do it because of necessity. I think at some point the government has to step in, and put a lid on price per sqft. Because otherwise, nothing's going to change.
I remember when I first arrived at my college dorm. I was horrified to see a "lofted" bed with a desk below it. Nothing like being 6'6 and hitting your head on the ceiling every time you try to get in or out of bed.

Misleading title. It sgould say "$600/mo SHARED apartment."
This is what he is known for, misleading people for the sake of views. In the end, we are just pawns. What's upsetting to me is, a lot of people in the comment section are VERY clearly mislead into believing the apartment is $600. It's not. He said "roommates" not ... roommate. So there are at least 3 people sharing that space. That's $1800 a month. He just skirted around the truth for the entirety of the video. I mean, Bobby, c'mon, your rep is already on the line here. Why not just casually mention the rent is $1800 a month, or $600 a person?

The fact that people are saying "for Manhattan it's a pretty good price" honestly terrifies me. How can it be so normalized to sell your soul for an absolutely miniature shitty apartment just to live in a big city? I swear to god people who ask for this much money for an apartment deserve no rights
Move to any boring ass American suburb where you sell your soul to do nothing but live in a big house. Not worth it
There’s a million millionaires living in nyc and the number just keeps getting higher.

ArtyMac It's not that bad.
It's really not.
I think the shower is a pretty decent size. If you go to Italy you'll find that the showers in hotels and and apartments are a lot smaller.
Totally! But the toilet / sink area in Italy is quite big, right??
It depends. In my apartment is way bigger, and in my other house the bathrooms are bigger than this guy's apartment.
I would hate to share a bedroom with a stranger. Especially a messy one. They would have to be like never home or I would go crazy
Hoeyann I’d sooner take the living room than share that kind of a room
Dude, as a student i shared a room with 4 girls, the bathroom and kitchen were on the hallway for the entire floor to use and i made it trough 5 years without dying.. off course, the dorm was only for girls
Old Cat Lady I need alone time. Lmao I would go crazy.
@@thehollyannrose ya me too but i got it when i went home..
Hollyann Rose if you cannot make it with your roommate then something is wrong with you.
I hated roommates in the military bc I lived alone beforehand but I had to learn how to communicate and work with others.
It was a lot better once we pushed our differences aside. Trust me
For $600 you can get so much more in Texas. Stuff like this makes me rethink moving anywhere else 💀
Funny thing is he pays 600. The apartment cost 1800 as a whole.
Congratulations you know how cost of living works
Lmao girl. $600 in Texas gets u an infested roach apartment. 😂
@@JAML1875 I’m from a small town so we actually have good priced apartments lol
Ugh Texas humidity and heat..no thank you. Not anymore. Tho I do miss ATX sometimes
