One man's trial is another man's treasure. Thanks for sharing a simple find and fix, with such detail Jon! I definitely agree that something so simple ignored, could become a haunting with serious issues down the line. I am certain that while you were accessing that you checked for water streaks or trails from other potential points. Great work, great detail channel for boating experience.

Borescopes, the new version of the old dental mirror for peering into tight spaces. But WHY do most seem to come with 16 foot cameras? We have a few at our office for the occasional site visit and while I rarely use them myself it looks like my coworkers are wrestling an anaconda using them. But thank you for the reminder. Perhaps I can find a more rigid snake version in shorter length as I keep forgetting to buy one. Will need it as I am hunting for my first boat. Something in the 1980's 30-35 range. Large enough to be comfortable on, but small enough a novice has at least a chance to handle it themselves. And not so expensive that if I do put a few scrapes on her I will cry. Something like a Carver Mariner or Sea-Ray Sedan Bridge (river/lake use only).
    Thanks for the video.

These scopes are great. We use ours tethered to the end of a telescoping pole for bottom/running gear inspection.

Annnnddd days after watching this on the buoy in Eagle Harbor, the Admiral told me we had a leak over the door in the master head...turned out to be a hole in the windscreen sprayer lines that suddenly manifested, flooded the area under lower helm, and we have in boat waterfall! Knew right where to look thanks to this, but I am fairly sure watching this video somehow made the universe think I needed and Object Lesson?
