"We are fascists. Today we have stabbed 3 workers of Ignis(factory) this is our pro-worker policy" The MSI had called a meeting at the Ignis Gardolo plant(5 kilometers from Trento). Similar meetings had already been prevented by unions and communists
For this reason, the MSI had turned to the magistrate of Trento and the judiciary had intervened with Ignis, requiring them to be guaranteed freedom of assembly.
At the news of this measure, Student Movements and Lotta Continua had announced the mobilization in front of the court; at the same time a group of workers had spontaneously gathered in front of the Ignis hall to protest against the assembly.
Suddenly some cars arrived in front of the factory, coming from all over the region, from which about thirty fascists had descended, who intended to enter the factory: they started attacked the workers who opposed them with chains, and iron clubs. The workers, managed to counter the fascist attack, but two workers, Adriano Mattevi and Paolo Tenuta remained on the ground, wounded.
Shortly afterwards the workers recognized two members of the MSI outside the same factory, the regional councilor Andrea Mitolo, a former fascist soldier, and the trade unionist of Cisnal Del Piccolo.
They were forced to put their hands on their heads and the sign and then they were paraded all around the town.
