Thank you all for watching & have an amazing day!!
Evelyn Hugo= Marilyn Monroe, Daisy Jones and the Six= Fleetwood Mac
yessss!
Who would Mick Riva be?
This book honestly means so much to me. There's a line in the book that talks about how you can't love someone or hate someone back to help and it made me cry because it hit so close to home for me. My whole family has dealt with addiction in some capasidy and I'm currently dealing with someone in my family going through it and that line is so true. This book is so well-written and I could cry just thinking about it. I read this at the perfect time in my life. I'm really happy you enjoyed it!
I understand completely! A good portion of my family also struggles with addiction. its never easy
Just finished the audiobook and that is definitely the way to go. Loved this book! Awesome review.
thanks so much for watching!
I had my eye on this as soon as it was an option for Book of the Month. I had no idea the format was interview style but I don’t think that’ll deter me. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Edit: I can’t wait for the video of all the Taylor Jenkins books! I think this one, though, is the one I really really want now that I heard your review.
I hope you enjoy it!
I think the format will be less bothersome when experienced via the audiobook, as it will have a full cast!
yes agreed! this book is a perfect book to listen to!
I agree!
Got this book for Christmas and just finished it and I really loved it! This book actually got me in tears by the ending. Can’t wait for the show to come out!
so glad you loved it!
I agree totally with you. When I first started reading it the format was a little tough, but I feel in love with it. This is the first Taylor Jenkins Reid book I have read. I have all of her books and think I am going to start Evelyn Hugo today. I can't wait to see what I think. I loved your review.
so glad you loved it!
I was told that it was inspired by The Civil Wars who broke up sometime in 2014 I love The Civil Wars. They had a very good creative relationship but not romantically involved and Daisy and Billy's relationship was like that. I can't wait to get a copy of this book. ❤️
Yes I love the civil wars as well and def see how this was inspired by them!
WHAT A FANTASTIC REVIEW. SO eloquent. I loved the book too and I agree with literally every thing you said.
aww thanks so much love!!!
I’m so excited to read this!!! I kind of love the idea of an interview format. I grew up on Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, a lot of those bands so this will be right up my alley. I preordered this one so now I’m even more excited to pick it up. Thanks for an awesome review!
thanks for watching it! hope you enjoy it!
Fleetwood Mac is my favorite! I think I need to read this:)
yes it's a must if you love Fleetwood Mac!
I ordered it from book of the month and can’t wait. I was a teen in the 70s and I know I will love the nostalgia. Thanks for the review.
hope you enjoy it!
I honestly have no idea how i'll feel about it but i hope i enjoy it esp since i love Fleetwood Mac.
I hope you love it!
I absolutely adore this book. I finished it a few days ago and I still think about it and recommend it to everyone. I think I am annoying at this point :D
I fell in love with this book from the very beginning. I didnt have a problem with the format, it was written for me. I love direct speech more than descriptions.
By the end of the book talks Simone about how she wanted to help Daisy with her addiction and how he struggled with not being able to help her. As someone who has an alcoholic in family I felt Simone's desperation.
I've read just Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo by this author but I ordered all her other books yesterday. I need more. Great video :)
so glad you enjoyed it!
I won this book in a giveaway and I loved it!! I agree with you about almost everything, especially about the unlikeable yet likable characters (Camila is probably my favorite tho, I loved how strong and independent she was through everything). This was also my first TJR book so I'm looking forward to reading the rest of her books :)
yes Camila was amazing!! and yay for getting on the TJR train! its a great one!
I absolutely adored Evelyn Hugo and this book sounds really cool. Love Fleetwood Mac so I will definitely be checking this out! I’m curious about how you’d rate the TJR books you’ve read ? I wanna read more of her stuff but not sure which book to try next.
My TJR video is coming this Friday!
Bookables awesome!
Taylor has a book on audible called Evidence of the Affair. It is strictly written in letters. I loved it and love anything Taylor writes! Can’t wait to read this one.
Ive read it and enjoyed it!
Listen to the audio!! The format works so much better that way. 😁
Ive heard nothing but amazing things about the audio!
I just finished and absolutely loved it!!! I really loved the format, I prefer more to hear what characters feel and think about, and they all depth to them. Esp Billy. And daisy and billy's story was so sad I'm devastated. I do hope they got together in the end!!
who knows?!
Daisy Jones sounds like an interesting read from your review. I think I would like the interview format, because it reminds me of how we get the stories of celebrities especially before social media when television news interviews and magazines articles would have been the main window into celebrity life. I think Taylor Jenkins Reid should do a book covering a modern celebrity, a person that is from the age of social media.
yes agreed! and love if tjr would do that!
Agree I had no interest in most of band members loved daisy and billy even though he frustrated me , and jumped to fast to the end without closure but glad I read it 👍
I’m currently reading this and it’s taking me a long time to get through it because I’m just not excited to pick it up at night. I only read at night so it takes me a week to get through a book of this length. I just started week 3 and I’m only one page 130.
hope your enjoying it!
My first thought when I saw the cover was that the girl on the cover reminds me of Stevie Nicks. I absolutely love her! She’s so ethereal!
yesss!
I was thrown off by the format storytelling but I became obsessed with the characters and could not put it down! Taylor is a gem of a author!!!
agreed!!!!
Great review! I can’t wait to read this book. I am a Stevie Nicks junkie and can’t wait to be immersed in this 70s vibe story 💜
yes girl! all the 70s vibes are in this book!
I absolutely loved this book. Just finished the audiobook and it was so incredible and moving and heartbreaking. I loved the open ending, I think it fit the story perfectly. One of my new favorite books of all time 💖
so glad you loved it!
I wasn't interested in reading this book at all but interested in her other ones. But now that you told me it's got that Fleetwood Mac kind of vibe I'm definitely going to read it cuz I'm a huge fan.
then hopefully you will adore it!
@@Bookables Thank you. BTW. Have you ever read Laura Dave stuff oh, she wrote 800 grapes I love that?
I just finished the audiobook and I’m so glad i chose that format! I still liked Evelyn Hugo more, but I’m glad I read it!
so glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely loved this book! Can’t wait to reread it when the hardcover and audiobook come out!
Im thinking about listening to it myself lol
i just bought this book because of the sypnosis i can't wait to read it. I love fleetwood mac so i am dying to read this
hope you love it!
Has anyone heard how this book is as an Audible book? Maybe it would be like Sadie and be even better in audio form.
Ive heard it's amazing. full cast and since it's told in interview format I think audiobook would be the way to go for this one!
Hahaha I preordered it because I thought it might have been loosely based off Janis Joplin who was addicted to drugs and actually died from an overdose. I love Janis, her voice, her style. I wish she was still alive.
But! I’m still excited to see if I still feel that way. I’m still on the Queen high from Bohemian Rhapsody so I think I’ll like it. Thanks for the review.
you might like it! i hope you do!
One of Evelyn Hugo's husbands makes a quick appearance in Daisy Jones and The Six. Love both of these books.
ooooh I didnt know that!
I received my book yesterday. I like that it is set in the 70s and the music from the 70 is awesome. I also think the cover for the book is amazing: it reminds me of a album cover. I cannot to read this :)
Hope you love it!
Can't wait to read it! I love your reviews! I trust what you say about them. Heck, I love all of your videos! And I was wondering, what is the blue book next to your camera on the shelf? Sorry to bother.
thanks so much! that means the world to me! and that book is our year of maybe by rachel lynn soloman
Thank you!
Hi Heather could you do an author video onTaylor Jacobs Read?
coming on Saturday!
actually friday whoops lol
Bookables aw no worries☺️ I can’t wait to watch it
Loved this book!! Finished it in 2 days, 5 stars! It does leave you feeling sad though.
right? so good but so sad! lol!
I read the book and did the audio.. Gotta be honest, the audio book makes it. the cast is amazing and you fall hard for the characters... just reading the book i also loved it but the audio really did bring it to a whole other level
ah Im def planning to listen to it via audio!
You should read the Stevie Nicks bio called Gold Dust Woman. It is so good
oooh great idea! perhaps I will!
Haha I absolutely love your review!! I'm so reading this now! Especially when you were recapping miscommunications. :)
yes its so true for this book! everyone takes something someone said differently!
Tomorrow!! Can't wait
hope you enjoy it!
Apart from drug use are there any other content warnings this book might have?
hmm sexual ones for sure, strong language, abortions,
Bookables ok thank you!!
Thank you
Grew up in the middle of the rock scene and knew Stevie & Lindsay and met Fleetwood Mac and the only similarity between them and the six was 2 females in the band
I loved the format and enjoyed the book immensely but I’m so tired of the Fleetwood Mac comparison
I can understand your thoughts!
Thanks hon, I was hoping to not offend you
Do you think this would be good on audiobook?
YES! they have a full all star cast and I honestly think audiobook would be the way to go with this one! youll really be immersed in the story
Thanks. I can’t wait to listen. Thanks for the reply.
Beautiful review! This would make a great movie.
they just announced its going to be a 13 episode show on amazon!
I'm about halfway through this book. I was really hyped for its release because I got Stevie Nicks vibes from the cover and the summary sounded like something I would LOVE. Especially because its been a few years since I've read a rock n roll biography and I thought Daisy Jones would give me some of that nostalgia. Anyway, I'm finding this book to be super cringey so far. I think it's because I've read books from Steven Tyler, Duff Mckagan, Nikki Sixx, etc and these characters seem to flop compared to the real deal. I know it's my fault for comparing a work of fiction to actual autobiographies from rock stars, but Taylor Jenkins Reid could have done a bit more research. I didn't find her portrayal of addiction to be realistic in the first half of the book (I haven't finished reading yet so maybe it can change). I'm just saying there could be some improvements :) So far. I'm excited to finish the book though and I really do hope my opinions change because I want to love this book so much!
oooh well I understand if youve read some of the actual auto bios you might not love it, totally understand!
Fantastic review!
thanks for watching!
I love this book
awesome!
Just finished Daisy Jones like 10 minutes ago and this was the first place I came lol!
that is a huge honor, thank you!
I really want the audiobook. -B
the audiobook looks insanely amazing! full star cast!
Now I have to read it cause I love Fleetwood Mac lol
yes you must!
You make this book sound amazing. I can't wait to read it. FYI.. Stevie Nicks was a big drug user. She went to rehab twice.
please check it out!
Totally 100% irrelevant but your makeup is so pretty. I love your shadow.
aw thanks!
First comment! Happy Monday everyone!
:-)
Loved the book, except Karen
I enjoyed Karen lol
