"Children's" and "Family" parks are a guilty pleasure for theme park nerds. They aren't covered nearly enough by the community imo. There are so many of them and a lot of them have a lot of industry history behind them as well as hidden gem coasters and other rides. Good to see you guys covering these parks across the sea, I plan on taking my daughter to many of them here in the states and doing vlogs of all the underappreciated family parks
I am so thankful for this video!! Great Yarmouth is the one place me and my family went every year till i was 12. Im now 20 and haven't been in 8 years and this brings back the fondest memories!! Thankyou so much!
Fond memories of holidays in Great Yarmouth when the South Denes caravan park was there. We used to walk up to to Joyland each night and my parents used to have a drink on the pier. The jet cars i used to love and they used to give off a distinctive rubber burning smell as they zipped around the track. Happy days.
I used to go to Great Yarmouth every year as a kid from about 85 -95 it was our family holiday every year. Watching these videos really makes we want to go back, Haven't been since 1995. 2018 I am going to have to take a little holiday in Great Yarmouth, I live in Blackpool so it seems so far away, but I think it must be done :-)
I’m so happy I found this video, brought back so many memories as a kid! The tub twist ride was a classic. And I remember another ride where you go inside a building and there’s a topless mermaid 🧜🏻♀️😂
Hey Shawn! I just wanted to say I love your channel! I have binge-watched most of your videos this week (including all of planet coaster which I LOVE!) I went here as a kid and was so happy when you said in the show video this week that you were going to Great Yarmouth! Keep up the fantastic work! - A new superfan ^_^
This vlog sums up my whole summer childhood! Fun fact the snails in Holland are now protected and not slowed to be knocked down!really looking forward till summer! Next time you go you will have to try the giant doing shot! So fun! It's along to beach thing lol
Hi I met you at the Blackpool pleasure beach ghost train. Thanks for letting me take a photo with you and chatting to us it made my day and good video 👍
2 weeks ago i went to pleasure beach and it was chucking it down and when it stopped me and my 3 cousins had the park to ourselves pretty much 🎉😂best day ever
I went to pleasure beach today it was fun also I live in Lowestoft were pleasurewood hills so it brings happiness to see our theme parks are appreciated
This so cool, I knew that was still one "Virginia Reel"-coaster somewhere in the UK. Really crowded there, but this was in the middle of their mainseason, right? My to-do-list gains an other position,
have you been to hunstanton near skegness you used to beable to get the wash monster across to skeggy but cant anymore but the sea life theres amazing!
I visit Great Yarmouth quite a lot as i live in Lowestoft, but i don't think i've entered Joyland for about 20 years, doesn't look like it's changed much other than the kids coaster.
hi shaun I know this is a random question but at the crooked house at adventure island was there once different models in there at one point? because I watched your video of you going in there and I didnt recognise the models at all. Love the channel keep it up
In fact it was there from 1985 to 1996 so longer than s couple of year lol, it was a space ship that you went into and it had some button activated areas that moved when you pressed them, I'll try and find some old photos out, I loved it. I can't find anything on the net though sadly.
Nothing to do with the vid but as it's the newest vid I figured the comments section would be pretty active. Basically I am currently counting my creds and I just wanted clarification on wether or not gringotts, journey to Atlantis, and wonder mountains guardian are coasters or if their coaster sections are too short to be classed as a cred
Although I'm only a teenager Ioved Joyland as a kid, I hope the park extends in the future, for example an The beach and also get rid of them stickers. #stickerpark
Just so you know, pleasurewood hills has really gone down recently, it's ok but rides keep breaking down and it's still so expensive. Unfortunately the rattle snake has been removed, my first coaster and one of the only left.
Thats good then ahah, it just seems a little less cheerful. There's no mascots or things like that around the park and some of the upkeep is low in places but it can depend on the day. Last time i went my friend didn't expect the force of the breaks on one of the rides haha. Anyway glad you had fun! :)
I really don't understand why so many people dislike Yarmouth! Shawn, have you ever done the Hollywood adventure golf? The theming is its own kind of special, I'd love to see a video the next time you go Yarmouth!
The Tyrolean (pronounced like "ti-ro-lee-an", not whatever it was you said...) Tub Twist is themed to the Tyrol, an area in Austria known for it's ski resorts and Austrian culture. Somehow, I doubt it's famous for Tub Twist rides, although I'm prepared to be enlightened. Anyway, yeah, it's not in Switzerland...

Agreed, we do love exploring these smaller parks!
So glad you did this. The snails was the first ever ride I went on 14 years ago. Thank you for the nostalgia

Nothing better than joy land does bring back the memories.

hehehehe id feel pretty silly going on those kiddie rides without kids, well done.
It's surprising how many adults actually visit this park, it must be for the childhood memories!
I visit Great Yarmouth quite a lot as i live in Lowestoft, but i don't think i've entered Joyland for about 20 years, doesn't look like it's changed much other than the kids coaster.

Can you remember space base that was there before the spook express? It was only there for a couple of years?
I don't remember this one
In fact it was there from 1985 to 1996 so longer than s couple of year lol, it was a space ship that you went into and it had some button activated areas that moved when you pressed them, I'll try and find some old photos out, I loved it. I can't find anything on the net though sadly.

Shawn, have you ever done the Hollywood adventure golf? The theming is its own kind of special, I'd love to see a video the next time you go Yarmouth!
I have indeed, will have to do it again and film it next time
Joyland is definitely a loverly little amusement park, and surprisingly small as well. The coasters are all definitely enjoyable.

Been there once but I don't remember because I was young
Omg I was literally here the day before because I've just moved 😭
Aomg they liked it

They took my Joyland down because it was unsafe. There where too many accidents on the rides.
We're sorry to hear that
Can you come next year

Alfie Pollington he left theme park worldwide due to inappropriate actions.
The DMX DJ he won't unfortunately he's been kicked out . Hopefully he will be back sometime though; he was one of my favorite vlogstars.
