Being an Alabama fan I have no problem admitting Georgia was the best team in college football for sure in 2021. My Tide was fortunate enough to catch them sleeping in the SEC Championship game and what I expected to happen in that game happened in the national championship game.

If it weren't for the stout Defense, Georgia would honestly be a pretty average team. Truth be told, the 2021 season for all of college football was nothing all that special. None of the common powerhouses were all that powerful, most of them are actually rebuilding. For once, Oklahoma didn't win the big 12, a G5 school made the playoffs, Alabama didn't really stomp many teams, Ohio state has the best passing game I've ever seen, but their awful defense renders it practically useless, Clemson struggled to beat average teams all year, and Georgia won the national title solely due to defense... it's been wacky.

Tell me you are a casual fan without saying you are a casual fan. by the end of it, UGAs offense was top 10 in scoring offense, their QB was 4th in passing efficiency, and they averaged a MOV of +26.9. You could argue that's the defense, but to get to that number (Leads the nation, btw), you have to have an offense scoring more than 5 TDs a game (for reference, 110 other teams couldnt muster that). compare that to the previous years MOV of +12.3 for UGA, this team was over all very good, and werent just carried by the elite defense.
It's real easy to say UGA had an average offense when they only played about two quarters a game before they started to kill time because they were up by four touchdowns.

Place them against the last 3 national championship teams though, and a guarantee they would lose. Props to Georgia on their natty though, they fought hard for it.
