I’ve never commented but today I totally do not agree with what your saying please brother preach the orthodox view of Islam. We are not allowed to ink our bodies you know this please don’t be ignorant to the fact of what the Quran says. Our ummah is in a bad place think about the message this is giving towards all the young kids who don’t know much about Islam. I strongly advise rethinking about what scholars you contact and listen to. A scholar is not bigger than the word of the Quran period. With regard to all these matters, the ahaadeeth testify that the one who does them is cursed and that they are major sins. There is some difference of scholarly opinion as to the reason why they are forbidden. It was said that it is because they are a form of deception, and it was said that it is because it is a way of changing the creation of Allaah, as Ibn Mas’ood said - which is more correct and also includes the first meaning. And it was suggested that what is forbidden is only that which is permanent, because that is changing the creation of Allaah; as for that which is not permanent, such as kohl which used for adornment by women, that is permitted by the scholars. (Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 5/393).

Tattoo's ain't a new thing been around for 1000's years and plenty...so who amongst the scholars or the average joe's amongst us had such a permissible thing? This generation and every century before us. This is a new opinion
It's a problem if you enter into a place of Najasat (impurity) and or if you, your self or your whole body becomes Najas (impure). It's a problem also I think if you are not in wudhu. So it seems there are more problems here without solutions. Why? Because the name of Allah cannot be touched with impurity , and that name of Allah is inked up from underneath his skin. Initially it starts from on top, when you scar and ink it on, but afterwards the skin grows back over it. So if you touch it, you're touching his skin, not the ink. (So at that juncture you don't have to be in wudhu by the way to touch it ). But because he's ALWAYS touching it 24/7 as it is a part of him and he can't get away from it, HE has to be in Wudhu all the time, which is practically impossible. Getting tattoos are not haram according to most Shi'a scholars I believe but applying this kind of permanent tattoo where the Holy names of Either God, The Prophet or The Imams is definitely a contentious issue. I understand why he's done it. Because even on a thread like this people are calling Shi'as Kafir .. that's number 1. And number 2: In places like Syria and Iraq the Daesh chop the heads of The Shi'a off at the kneck. So it's a reminder to them of their own hypocrisy. I know Lebanese and other Shi'a Arabs to do the same or similar kind of tattoos.. Either way. It's like when somebody asked Ayatollah Khoie whether or not Pakistan should be made out of the remnants of British India and he said no. But. Now that it's happened if asked whether or not Pakistan should be joined back to India the answer isn't going to be yes. It's happened now so there's no choice but to live with it. Because the problem now is his problem and not yours, just remember the name of God for yourself when you look at that tattoo "La ila ha il Allah", because you will actually be the one for getting the reward for having looked at the name of God, by virtue of the belief of your own faith. Remember also, that the easiest Dhikr to say without anyone ever knowing that you are even saying it is "La ila ha il Allah". Try it. You don't have to use your voice (whisper) and you don't have to move your lips. And finally. Remember for yourself that God in reality is as The Holy Qur'an states, closer to you than your jugular vein. Wassalaam. Oh and finally. If tattoo removal is a possibility in his case it may well become obligatory upon him to remove it , for the reasons I've stated. I mean. I love Mo' Deen because he's my Shi'a Muslim brother, but maybe that's something that he could or should look into. Wassalaam.

In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “May Allaah curse the women who do tattoos and those for whom tattoos are done, those who pluck their eyebrows and those who file their teeth for the purpose of beautification and alter the creation of Allaah.” (al-Bukhaari, al-Libaas, 5587; Muslim, al-Libaas, 5538).
