These two films, return of the king and the Hobbit by Rankin Bass are so insanely under rated. They are different yes but they have such a magical and wonderful feeling and character to them. They truly deserved a fellowship of the ring and two towers treatment....I would pay a fortune to see that....

What was being conveyed is that the same primary artists working for Rankin and Bass moved over to Studio Ghibli, which is true.
At that point they were less hamstrung over creative control and production costs. I don't personally see Ghibli productions as in any way a sad development, but maybe what you meant was that the old artistic style was pleasing to you and you are sad it has gone extinct?

The roads go ever, ever on
To the lands beyond the sea
On a white ship will I sail
    Watching shadows part for me.
    Leaving Havens gray with rain
Now that years have slipped away
    Leaving friends with gentle pain
    As they start another day.
The roads I travel I must leave
For I've turned the final bend
Weep not empty tears but grieve
As the roads come to an end.
Its so easy not to try
Let the world go drifting by
    If you never say hello
You won't have to say goodbye!

“If you never say hello, you won’t have to say goodbye”. Truer, sadder words have never been penned or sung. My father loved this music & I grew up on it & cartoon epics in the 80s. About to bear my 7th child, that will bear my fathers name, l in some form, male or female, I’m reminded we played this at his funeral. I played it, my husband sang because my voice was too choked up. I was blessed with the ability to play anything I put my hands to, by ear: just like my beloved father. Miss you Daddy. I hope the lands beyond the sea are even more fantastical than you could’ve ever dreamt. 💔

It is better to have loved and ended than to never loved at all. Whether story, game, day, friend, family, or lover we find the best of it and the best often ends as easily as it comes. If you were born with no love to give it is often you will find it before you go so it is better to first feel that warm touch. That chases all the former nightmares away. I just hope that if this film taught us nothing it is that love is something worth ending things. In that way we all have a Hobbit in us.

that has got to be the saddest thing that I have ever heard in my whole entire life and what makes it even more saddening is that it is all true with word messages meaning words of if you never say hello you won't have to say goodbye phrases. and all those of you out there who still have families who are still around on the land of green don't take for granted that they'll be with you forever because they won't. appreciate with all of the pets and loved ones and family members that are with you still because you never know what you all have got till it's gone. I know this now due to my own family dying off like a bunch of flies that had been swatted by a giant fly swatter by death or at least whatever is left of my family which is not much my grandma is all that I got left aside from very few people left in it that are still around in said family.

I just wished things never ended. Its like the first time you see an ending its like characters are dead, and if you re-watch or re-read about them its like looking over memories. Every time I watch this I wished it never had to end. That it'll keep going forever. I guess that is why people die because everything else does. I often not watch the ending to this film just to pretend their still going that is never ended. "I you never say hello, you won't have to say goodbye",

You know, it is so easy not to try, and if you do say hello, someday you will have to say goodbye. Somedays, you may think it'll be easier to not to try, because you won't ever have to say goodbye. However, even though it's harder, I'd rather say goodbye every time. I'd rather get to know something, so that I may know something wonderful before it's gone. If I never say hello, if I never try, I'll never get to experience it at all. The world won't wait for me, it'll drift on by without me. It may be sad, and it may be hard, but I'd rather say hello, every time. There is something beautiful hidden everywhere, and you'll never find it, unless you say, hello. It is so easy not to try, but when you do, you'll find something worth the find.

aye but that warble in his voice is fitting I think, as I imagine when Bilbo sang this in the end of the Hobbit when his voice broke and Gandalf commented. The movie this song is featured is sub par but the music was well done (mostly)

why do some of the most inspirational pieces come from animated musicals?

  • @helmsplitter0233
    @helmsplitter0233 13 ปีที่แล้ว +3

the hobbit and the return of the king are true master pieces that have rarely been rivaled in story and art the lord of the rings(1978) was an awful work that equals up to an acid trip especially when they used live actors for most of it with that stupid animation program that you only see in music videos of that era the art and story were the worst story and lack of Emertion i regret ever watching it but the hobbit and the return of the king art second to none in all forms of the word
