I'd like to respectfully disagree with Monica about ghost "not being victorian." Ghosts are arguably the most victorian aesthetic thing around
Now that we all think about it, of course you're right. However, traditionally I never thought about having a ghost in a dollhouse. Totally creative idea, but just wouldn't be my first thought.

Phoebe saying nonsense that leaves everyone quiet simply because it's nonsense is not winning an argument.
The way I see it is the arguments were Ross trying to convince Phoebe of something. She would walk off with confidence and he would be left looking defeated. So he did actually fail, dont you think?

It's cute how no one says anything about Monica and Phoebe being "too grow up" to play with dolls; As adults, they are free to do whatever they want to get fun, even if is the same that they used to do as children.

Yep! Sometimes it's fun to go back and revisit childhood. This show was on before I was old enough to watch it, but I got the Lego set for Christmas, which was a lot of fun to build, BTW. 😄

Ross was spoiled by his parents and used to having his way, Monica was unappreciated by her parents and therefore making her too demanding with herself and other. The reflexion of the parents is really well written.

I love Ross' expressions and reactions behind her as Phoebe reveals her additions to the doll house. Also I feel like he and Monica reacted to Phoebe exactly in the way they would have if they were all children and Phoebe came over to play.

A friend of mine when I was a kid had a dollhouse like this except it was her mothers and nobody was allowed to touch it. She would spend hours rearranging the stuff, decorating it for things like Xmas/Easter, She had real carpets, silk curtains, working lights, beautiful little furniture in it and all I wanted to do every time I went over there was flick the lights on and look at how cozy and real it looked. Obviously I never did coz nobody was supposed to go near it but omfg it was beautiful.
They can be very expensive and some items fragile, more of an adult collector item, not meant for small hands to play with. There are dollhouses made more sturdy for children

The dollhouse always reminds of this really elaborate doll house I saw on vacation when I was five. It had electric lights, tiny working ceiling fans, several floors... I wanted to play with it so badly but it was obviously just for display.
But how are you supposed to play with it? If it's realistic car you can go vroom but a whole house?

@@MrClauried you play with the house by rearranging furniture, adding things, setting up scenes, decorating for the holidays, etc. Even remodeling it to make it more modern.

@@MrClauried that would take up less space, but there are physical houses, barns, churches, greenhouses, lighthouses, cabins, etc that you can get as kits and then build and decorate the way you like. For example, I love the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip, I think it'd be a blast to build a dollhouse and make it into Calvin's house, with the tree and treehouse in the yard. You can also make or buy dolls to go inside. I'd probably have to make Calvin and Hobbes, or find someone with a 3D printer. If you want to see a treehouse that someone made recently, check out Bentley House Minis channel. I came across one person who does commissions and he reproduces a house of your choosing, like the house you grew up in or something with sentimental value to you. People get addicted to it and make entire towns, like general stores, diners, hobby stores, fountains, coffee shops, churches, schoolhouses, just whatever they want. You could make a saloon with a brothel upstairs, you could recreate a favorite movie scene. The channel i mentioned above has made the house from The Adams, Family, took her 10 years and I think it's in a museum in display now, part not it anyway. She's working on the Beetlejuice house now. For lockdown, she made an entire house out of cardboard packaging and even furniture. If you're into Harry Potter, check out Darkest Raven Designs, she's done Hagrids Hut, Dumbkedore's office, just finished a Ravenclaw Common Room, and a bunch of super tiny other structures, like Diagonal Alley . Or you can start with a standard Victorian dollhouse kit

What Phoebe said is actually canon. The Los Alamos Manhattan project site was indeed an Indian Land, and it was actually a place for Indian burial rites. And that land was never returned to the Indians after the manhattan project bc newer and newer tests were conducted there. Not only was Phoebe right about the nuke thing, but also about the US govt.

I love Lisa Kudrow, but I always hated how Phoebe was always portrayed as "in the right" about everything and if things didn't go her way she'd make a big childish fuzz about it.
