@@skirmantasmikuckis6923 It's because Ross is already known for being a cheapskate, so hearing that he's trying to save even more money by buying cheap bedsheets made Phoebe want to point it out.

I remember not even knowing what Pottery Barn was when this aired. A few years later I bought something in their store and my addiction began. I just thought it was my style. Whatever that is. I kept getting compliments from everyone when they visited so I kept buying more. Now, it’s 20 years later and while I don’t shop there as much (occasional vase here and there) because I don’t have the room I still appreciate it. In fact, I still have things I bought that are still in the original box’s unopened. I’m not hoarder (I promise) but I just didn’t have the right place or wall space for them. Hopefully, in my new place I’ll use it all. I owe it all to Friends. LOL!!!!
Phoebe is such a routine hypocrite lol. It is admittedly a nice approach, to try look for unique items over store bought copies but man, sometimes a table is just a table and sometimes you don't need to preach to your friends on how to spend their hard earned money in their free time and that's far too often what Phoebe does.
@@austinclark6371 thats not even a fair comparison. CDs are mass produced yes but there isn't 1000 different versions/designs of an artist's album. Its literally what it is. You only have one (or sometimes 2 options if theres a limited edition release). For tables they come in all shapes sizes designs and makes. So she can choose whether or not she buys a mass produced design or a design that is antique / has a lot of history that makes it unique. Also (this is in relation to the original post's comment) all the characters can be hypocritical at some point in the way the writers wrote them in later years but there is a difference here. Rachel and Phoebe are now living together. Its different if rachel has her own place and she can choose to buy whatever she wants. But now she's living in Phoebe's apartment. Yes its a bit unfair that she preaches quite hard to Rachel about whats 'acceptable' for their new apartment it's still within her right to complain about something she feels strongly against.
Phoebe probably wouldn’t have said anything if it was in Monica’s apartment. But the coffee table was in Phoebe’s and Rachel’s shared apartment so roommates tend to consult each other on shared furniture.
Another reason why Ross and Rachel are meant to be together - same taste!! I bet when they got married after season 10 their house was like Pottery Barn heaven lol.
I really wish they had made it permanent or, at the very least, had it last much longer. I don’t know why it seemed like the writers were far more interested in having Rachel living with Joey
I love how Lisa Kudrow's character, Wanda, in BoJack Horseman references this. Wanda: _"I guess he was in some movie about a potter, or a Pottery Barn or something."_ - BoJack Horseman Season 2 - Episode 8 - "Let's Find Out"
I said if before and I'll say it again, I really hate how everyone coddled Phoebe and tip-toe around her just to not offend her the slightest, believe me, it's one thing being nice and considerate to your friends, but if they are not willing to do the same for you and respect your preferences, then that's not what friendship is.
Ross moved them when camera was on rachel. He drops the sheat for a second after looking down at the dips. Then when caméra is back on him the dips are on the side table behind him.
This is one of the reason i really don't like Phoebe. Oh she doesn't like something so none of her friends gets to have it. Yeah it's in her apartment aswell. But unless the company fucking slaughtered her family for generations, that shit is just insane
No. She would have a problem with the one rachel got cuz it is in her apartment. Ross only had to hide his cuz rachel lied about hers being one of a kind. If she saw ross' she would have asked where it came from and if Ross said pottery barn she would know rachel lied to her. Phoebe has never once made any comments about where her friends buy their things. Phoebe, just personally, does not like mass produced things and wouldnt like it in her place. But she really did like the table, so later when she found out, she still wanted to keep the coffee table and even all the other furniture rachel bought and lied about. So phoebe actually lightened up a bit about it in the end.
Why didn't Rachel just lie and say it was from a flea market, but she didn't ask anything about it. And then she could say the person who sold it to her didn't tell her anything, so she didn't know it was from pottery barn.
i mean she's not wrong but only when it comes to gifts, imagine gifting your loved one something that any fckperson or cheater would gift their partner, that's the curse of mass production lol.
Instead of covering it, which ultimately led to the truth coming out due to the spill, Rachael could've told Ross to tell Phoebe exactly what she told her & then if Phoebe would've asked if they bought it from the same seller at the flee market, they could've simply said that yes they did! (Just an idea)
Even though this show was about 6 friends and all were seen equally, i think Phoebe is the least important character out of all. I mean every other character can pull up stuffs for their own but her role is just not that good enough. Most of the time it's over the top acting. @@myfakinusername Not really. she is meant to be a hippie kind of a person but that not the problem. You can clearly see sometimes she over acts and screams.
