Bob, what an information-rich tutorial. I learned to use NEW tools: (1) Increase canvas size on one side only. I used to create a big canvas then paste a copy onto it, and positioning it. Your demo saved several steps. (2) Photomerge. How is moving a selected part of one image into a second image different from 'select, copy' then paste into the second image? Is the power in the next few features that 'merge'? (3) Using the Recompose tool to enlarge the selected part of an image. How is it better than just 'stretching.' (4) Applying Levels to only one layer. I learned NEW ways to use adjustment layers and the select fine detail tool. Thank you!
Maybe someone official here can explain to me, why Elements 14 has more bugs and less stability then 9 and 11. I startet with 9, which came with my work laptop, after a few years I bought 11 for 70€ and except the lack of 64 bit support, I was very happy with this as fast and stable editing software, both for work and private. This year I bought 14, and I was hoping to see a huge improvement, at least in terms of performance because of the 64 bit support and me being able to give it triple the amount of ram. I never was so disappointed in purchasing a supposedly superior improvement of a product as with Photoshop Elements 14. The mouse cursor gets delayed when opening certain menues, no matter if on my desktop pc with SSDs and 3,5 ghz i5, or my slower laptop with an i3 and normal HHD, so hardware does not play a factor with my issues. More annoying then that cursor bug, is that when using certain tools, like the blur brush, it is not possible to get into another tool via quick key or zoom in or out via key+mouse wheel, I have to manually click on another tool then everything works again. Another huge annoyance is that when using the manual repair brush, it is not possible to change the brush size via shortcut key, it only works with the automatic repair brush, so I have to change the size with the mouse inside the tool bar which is just an incredible horrible bug. The newest bug I noticed, is that the whole program freezes, if I try to make a new folder while being in the save under window, it lets me make a new folder and type in letters, but as soon as I hit return, it freezes and I must use the task manager to close it. This is a huge wall of a text, I know, but I don't care, I wrote into several adobe forum sites and plenty of people have similar and more issues, and the software is not new anymore with no patch in sight. I am very disappointed and will spend my money on another companies software the next time.

I cannot find the photo merge anywhere in elements 15. Does anyone know..I am about to throw this laptop out the window. :-(
It's under the Guided tab. Photomerge is the last option on the right hand side. After you click photomerge, it's the first option you see.
Did not help at all! All I want is to place two photos side by side, ugh!
