  • Avshalom Elitzur takes us deep into the riddles of Quantum Mechanics, and shares his recent discovery, the Quantum Liar Paradox.
Avshalom C. Elitzur has earned his PhD under the supervision of Yakir Aharonov. He is a member of Iyar, The Israeli Institute for Advanced Research. The Elitzur-Vaidman bomb-testing experiment, listed by the New Scientist magazine among "the seven wonders of quantum mechanics," is the single experiment in physics' history that makes one smile.
Elitzur's research spans over quantum measurement, Special and General Relativity and the nature of spacetime. His Spacetime-Dynamics hypothesis aspires to attain theoretical physics' holy grail, namely, unifying Relativity and Quantum theories. It describes the quantum interaction as preceding the emergence of the spacetime region within which it "occurs," thereby, hopefully, better accounting for the relativistic and quantum oddities of mass and energy.
Elitzur's other papers include novel contributions to evolutionary theory and to philosophy of mind. He also writes on environmental and moral issues.

A wonderful dissertation, how is this man not more famous? I’ve been searching for more videos of him and have not found as many as I hoped

Amen to that! Like you, I’ve been seeking him out now for a week and can’t find much on him. He is such a brilliant mind!

@@BDB78 yeah, the mainstream minds are everywhere but he is hard to find. I’m assuming he disagreed with somebody powerful at some point or something weird. He really deserves more attention

this is a WOW talk because in a very short talk he managed to explane QM to me in clear form and even make it sound interesting!

The stunning paradox is that it was not Einstein who was the discoverer of E=mc^2. Before Einstein was born it was Samuel Tolver Preston and in 1093 the Italian Olinto de Pretto published E=mc^2 two years before Einstein did.

Does the Elitzur-Vaidman bomb-testing experiment imply QM can explain how effect precede cause?
