    TY very much. An excellent video and very well presented. Im a big TBS game fan as i am not so young and dont have APM or patience for micro in strategy games. You did present a lot of various genres but you chose some excellent games on this list.
    As a turn based fan i would also recommend Wasteland 2, which is a great spiritual successor to the first 2 Fallout games with interesting characters and good turn based tactics.
    Also Expeditions Vikings, a fantastic squat TBS game in which you take a small group of vikings across England and run all kinds of missions with a deep story and interesting mechanics.
    PS: your last 5 chapters have missing text showing ??? instead of the game title.

    Mount and blade 2 is sure the best so far. Only if they added more variety after 100 hours of playthorugh, ur just left with concuring, more dynamics for quests maybe.

    One of the things that sets XCom2 and Warhammer 3 a cut above many games is the "modding community". Both of these games have amazing modders/hobbyists/geniuses putting together brilliant content for everyone to enjoy.

    Feels like this could have been one list for strategy and one list for RPG honestly. I also dispute the amount of "replayability" in Troubleshooter (more grindy than replayable though you could indeed grind stages forever if you want to) and FFT, though I'll concede that I've played through the latter multiple times the past 25 years even though it only has a single ending and no new game plus or the like. Tactics Ogre Reborn similarly is more "really long if you go for all the routes through chariot" than strictly replayable, but there's a lot to do/try and that length goes toe to toe even with some of these PC grand strategy games played through multiple times so I think its place is fair (also I like it going back to the original from 30 years ago).

      absolutely on point... the replayability part on Tactics ogre kills me, because I love the game but I wont sunk another 100 hours to unlock every character and go down the 100 level dungeon... its a pity theres SO MUCH game behind the main story arc because Id have really loved to see more, have more units variety, explore all this relics stuff and the high level items but... its just too much and theres way too many games to play

    I just started playing Wartales. I enjoy it. Do you find yourself starting over in most games. I do. I wonder if it is common. Especially with strategy games. I never grasp the full concept of the game play on the first run. One game that still kicks my ass is Shorest Trip to Earth. I still can't reach the end, let alone pass the 6th zone.

    • @JoelRPG
      @JoelRPG  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! most strategy games requires you to learn the concept in the first 3-4 hours, mastering it takes even more times.

    Battle Brothers (two thumbs down). I'm happy to be in the minority, but I'd much prefer to play every other game in this video than the frustration I felt after playing 40 hours of Battle Brothers, getting nowhere! I'd feel better if it was a Rogue like, but it's not. Making zero progress in 40 hours, I uninstalled, then bought and played Shogun Showdown instead... 130+ hours later... I''ll still play a 20+ min run of this game for relaxation.

      I can't blame you. Although I finished Battle Brothers (the end game crysis) and enjoyed it a ton, I can see why some people can get frustrated with some difficulty spikes. I have a similar issue with the much acclaimed FF Tactics.

      I feel the same. Especially if you get attached to some characters too and you see them die in horrible ways. Then again, for masochistic people that have played Darkest Dungeon, BB is much easier to get into. :)
      As i get older i find i have less and less patience with games that have too many complex mechanics. I feel like BB is more geared toward very hardcore strategy gamers.
      But there are indeed very few good medieval TBS games out there. Wartales seems fun, i think im gonna try it.
      If you want 2 good TBS games with medieval themes i recommend Expeditions: Vikings and Expeditions: Rome. You control a small squad of characters, but the games have deep mechanics and great stories.
