I’ve had many motocross bikes 125’s ,250’s, 450’s in my years but I once got given a Honda Express moped for free an old guy was going to take it the dump but came to the motorcycle shop I worked at with it on a trailer of course I said yes ! It only did 27mph but me and my buddies had some laughs on it that summer ! Sold it for £200 afterwards.. Happy days
I think it has a lot to do with how light and nimble they are - even though you arent going "fast" you arent necessarily going slow either - probably why electric bicycles are so popular these days. Thanks so much
I used to ride a Honda 90 between home and university every weekend in the mid 1970s. On one trip I went flying over the handlebars. A filled trench along the road had sunk slightly, and my front wheel tracked into the raised edge in the tarmac on a curve. The front took a nosedive and I found myself flying through the air, and rolling down the road. I just picked myself up off the road, got back on the bike and carried on.
That is the best story - definitely got a chuckle out that one. If that was now that would been recorded and posted for millions to see :) Great fun yeah!
That's a really cool vintage bike and it looks to be in really great condition! I would definitely recommend cleaning and waxing/buffing it - that paint will shine right up and look like new again (with exception of the few rust/patina spots)! Great find brother! 🏍🏍🏍
Shes a beauty. That seat cover will be just what she needs! I'd ask what's her name but maybe if you name her you'll grow more attached 😆 Great video as always!
Thanks for watching and your nice comment. I have named bikes in the past - you're right though, once that happens its more difficult to let them go. Chase is loving this one - he will be the one that struggles when it leaves ;)
It is NOT a moped. It is what's known as a step- through motorcycle. Yes. Obviously you're not going to ride it on the freeway but. Set up right they will do45 50. M p h stock and. Yo can swap a 125 .clone engine in them easy they are considered motorcycles In pretty much all states
I bought a '22 Super Cub, did a lot to it to "make it mine" (just finally got my rear pillion seat today). Even with only four gears, I can get it up to 55 with no problem, even 60 if I really push it on takeoff and have no inclines (it really could have benefited from a fifth gear like the Grom has). I'm getting ready to do a front sprocket swap, 14T to 15T. That'll allow me to get to 55 with no problem and it'll lower my engine's RPM's by almost a 1000 (depending on the conditions, of course). Quazi Motard did a video on it and he's getting 20% better gas mileage on his '21 Cub, so that'll be neat too, I'm already averaging 126MPG! I don't NEED to go faster, I just want to be able to keep up with traffic without keeping the throttle wide open. If I want something faster, I'll get something bigger :D
126 mpg - that is insane!! I hear you with keeping up with traffic - with a larger front sprocket she wont start off as quick, but you're right - should be able to sustain higher speeds easier. Have fun!
@@ACECafeBikes Mostly level roads with minimal turns, so 126mpg isn't unreasonable. I also try not to 'drive it like I stole it' all the time. QuaziMotard (on youtube) said to me that it does take off slower with the new gear, but the engine doesn't rev out as much and you get taller gears to get up to speed, so you can almost hit 50 in 3rd gear. It'll be a fun project to do.
Whatever it’s lacking in power it makes up for it in smiles.
Smiles around - for sure!
These are so much fun to ride. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much buddy!!
A lot of people don’t know that when you change gears, you can ease the shift pedal out like a clutch.
Nice bike mate, very cool
I didnt know that - but I will definitely give that a try!!
Worth watching the early days of Ed March on his TH-cam channel C90 Adventures to appreciate what these little gems are capable of.
Thanks - I'll have to check it out

That thing looks like a blast. I would have a hard time getting rid of it, even with a goal.
I know - it is a lot of fun and Chase is having a great time riding it, but this one has to go :(
What a cool moped! If i lived on ypur side of the pond i’d buy it of you!
Thanks buddy - that would be cool

They sure are a load of fun. You may not want to get rid of it. 😉
Thanks Eric, Chase is loving it - but this one is going to go. However, a little secret, more mopeds are coming 😉
That thing needs a train horn for extra irreverence! :D Too cool!
Thats funny since Chase has a ridiculously loud horn to attach to the cb400.
The first bike I rode was a Honda 50.❤ 1965
I bet it was a blast!!!
I want one of these pretty bad.
Send me your dollars!!! Hehe
@@ACECafeBikes - Out of curiosity, how much would you be willing to part with it for?
@@fitzstermotoI posted it for sale today for 1600, hope to make 1300.

Should be a bit faster than that, more like 50mph. I think they made about 60 million of the C50/70/90 range.
50 would be awesome - the speedo goes up to 50 :)
I was an idiot back in 2006. Traded an 82 c70 for a DLP TV. SMH.
It happens - ;)
i like driving slow cars fast :D
:)
I've thought about doing something like this, but time always gets away from me.
Well, this just fell into my lap - hopefully it will turn into dollars ;)
Wait till you get a Trail 90 or Trail 110. Your life will never be the same.
Oh yeah, I bet that would be awesome!
