I assume coaches not being able to spectate comes down to them being able to see the opposing team's boost levels and share them in real-time with their team (They would be too delayed to be of any use if watched via streaming.) It makes sense to me, though I'm sure Psyonix could eventually add a coach spectator mode that only allows them to see their respective teams.
I introduced this exact rule in the league I’m in for that reason.
Yeah that's the reason 100%, although many pros literally do not care. Should definitely be added considering how long it's been and how fast other games were able to implement it😅
@@ShadowReformedI know the pros currently think it couldn't create an advantage but it could 100% be abused if it was just a straight slot. Adding one that can't look at the other team or something though should be easy enough 😅
If anyone watches chalked cast, the players themselves have said that it wouldn’t really matter. The 4th person trying to chime in would just be a hindrance. And coaches yelling out boost levels would have very little influence on the game and possibly even interrupt the players and how they want to play
@@yogibeats9037 I disagree that any significant advantage can be gained by seeing the other team's pov, especially if both coaches can do it. I played/coached collegiate RL and coached semi-pro for years, both of which usually allow coaches in lobbies (though not always). Seeing opponent boost totals is the only "unfair" advantage coaches have while spectating, but its not particularly useful. Most GCs and SSLs and certainly all pros can approximate how much boost an opponent has, plus having a coach yelling out boost totals mid-game would add a ton of confusion. Trust me, comms are already hectic enough. On top of that, Discord streams are difficult to analyze and Twitch streams were useless for live coaching. Maybe a pro-level coach could find some way to abuse it, but I can't see how. That said, I fully agree a coach spectator mode should be added to eliminate any questions for abuse while allowing coaches to properly analyze games in real time.
Would it really be so hard to allow a coaching spot that can only spectate one team? It just seems kinda lazy to not implement it into RLCS and it leaves coaches with a lot less to work with when it comes to coaching their team.
Yeahh Valorant did it within like a year I think? Should be a no brainer.
Might be hard to implement in online games.
@@ShadowReformed idk most of those companies are pretty lazy when it comes to this stuff... like u said valorant managed to implement it easily, but on the other hand valorant didnt manage to add a replay saystem to this day... idk why they both just dont add stuff like that

when i was coaching my collegiate siege team i wasnt aloud in a discord call at all with them during the games i could watch the stream but i couldn't communicate with them at any point had to talk in between games if i needed to bring anything up. it was so frustrating and unproductive as a whole

I feel like the wording in your 1st minute of video isn't very specific and might not be clear for anyone. That might seem as if Morocco players can not compete in RLCS no matter what, almost as if Morocco is part of a blacklist.
The reason Itachi was disqualified was because he competed in a team that subscribed to the Europe region. If your team is considered Europe all the players must live in one of the countries that are part of the European region in Psyonix's view (there is a list of which country qualifies as part of Europe region). In those Psyonix rules, Morocco is part of a different region, which means a player from Morocco can not compete in a team that is registered as an EU team.
Some players from MENA play in Europe because they have decent pings and are able to play with a more vast player base. So it is very likely that most of RL players in MENA countries mostly queue EU servers. Aside from this, at that time MENA did not have any place for a team that could compete for worlds. Which means, no matter how good a team in MENA was, it could have never qualified for RLCS World Cup. That is surely one reason why Itachi has chosen to compete in EU, to have a chance at competing at the highest tournament. There is a Sunless video that showcases the story of how Incivik and his team has fought to convince Psyonix to let MENA have a spot for Worlds.

its funny that we saw you mention that teams can technically forfeit individual games, and we hadn't really seen it. But like right after you posted this, in a qual match for NA main event, Plot twist forfeited game 1 to The Snowmen before eventually losing the series
Personally I don’t really mind the lower age requirement for participating in RLCS. However I’d have liked to see some sort of Minor League / Major League thing to split the sides. 18-/+ leagues type of thing.
The way an adult interprets and predicts/reads actions in the game is just vastly different than how kids interpret and predict actions. Seems like an unfair matchup waiting to happen.

About the age, just make it 18, but allow any age with parent or guardian consent (and supervision).
Kids now still need their parent or guardian's consent it wouldn't matter if it was changed.

I have a question about the forfeiting, can a player forfeit if he needs to go to the hospital for family or does he need to play?
usually they'll have a sub if needed, but in emergencies doubt they would be punished

Eligible countries are are no longer a thing in 2024 season.
they still exist they just changed because now they only restrict places that the US has tariffs on rather than who the UN does, probably because epic is running things other than psyonix or whatever. its mostly obvious stuff like north korea and cuba plus the Middle eastern countries that you'd think of like iraq, iran, and syria. its on page 14 of the 2024 rulebook under rule 3.7.1. The UN has tariffs on morocco but the US doesnt so im sure thats what you had mixed up.
It has definitely changed with the new rule allowing you to play in other regions - but there are a handful that I believe you won't be able to be located in if you want to receive prizing. The Itachi situation was different too since this was season 3 where African countries couldn't compete.
@@zacharydavis9526 Right, the new rules definitely shook up some of the ineligible country rules, but the first only applied to him at the time since it was season 3, where it was only NA/EU/OCE (and Morocco ofc wasn't allowed to play in EU).
