Anne’s disgusted face was hysterical.
🤣🤣
Exactly how I felt when I read the story and
excerpts in a tabloid newspaper back then!
Yes, the phone conversation recording was intrusive. The truth would have come out another way. Incidentally, Charles was more devastated about the intrusion than he was about the details.
Poor Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles.
Poor Diana!
Poor William and Harry!
Poor Tom and Laura A.P-B!
Poor parents of Charles and Camilla!
I do not have much sympathy for A.P-B. Why?
He cheated on Camilla both before and during
his marriage to her. Also Charles and Camilla's
social circle knew about their affair.
I am sure that A. P-B was shamed by the
revelations of "Tampon-Gate" He should
have been ashamed of his own cheating!
A life support machine couldn't even revive you !!! Come in and park your balls 😂😂😂
Andrew Parker Bowles had one hell.of a reputation as a faithless roving husband with an eye for the ladies, right the way through...
@@user-pj8kl6gf3c Yes, he shares that in common with Charles.
@@outinsider Not to defend Charles but he had one. APB was all over town...
Oh God this scene was so uncomfortable. Mine and Anne's reaction was the same
Imagine how it was for those of us old enough to remember when this happened 😳
@@christinelee4780 Was phone sex common even in those days? How did people of your age react to it back then?

over the phones --
Back when there

(Even back when there
were only hand-written

Charles and Camilla's

in a tabloid .... EwwH!
Yuck! 😒
@@here_we_go_again2571 Got it. Was girls and guys sleeping around a lot before marriage also quite common in 70-80s?
I have second-hand embarrassment hearing this! 😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I remember the phone conversation very well and it was sooooo cringey 😬. Most of all I thought about their kids and how horrid it had to be. Both Diana and Charles were very self-centered but Charles even worse because he never loved Diana and set everything in motion, breaking her heart over and over.
Amen.
Folks love to forget that she cheated first
@@JoanMorrison-vq2jc You are wretched.
@@jws1948ja Wretched? Nah. Honest. Yes. Unlike "Lady" Di.
@@NaatClarkNo, Charles was foolish enough to keep in contact with Camilla after her wedding. His obsession with her caused this mess.
Even this re-enaction is revolting...and to make matters worst: they're their current King and Queen 🤡🤡🤡
You can tell it's tearing Diana apart you can tell it's really sad to watch it can't help but to feel bad for her
Diana is dead. Nothing is tearing Diana down anymore.
This conversation is so cringy to listen to but they did a great job staging it overlaid with everyone else reading the paper. Plus the music, and ending with Diana - it’s a well done scene.
Imagine the pain Princess Diana had to endure reading all this.
Charles should have been permitted to marry Camilla Shand in the early 1970s before he joined the Royal Navy and before she married Andrew Parker Bowles. They were in love then and never stopped loving each other. It would have prevented a lot of heart ache, pain, and most likely, the suffering and eventual death of an innocent girl named Diana Spencer.
You don't know that it would've prevented her death.
@@l.a.3479 Technically true, but odds are she wouldn’t have been taking that car, on that road, at that time, if she’d never been involved with him.
Didn't Charles have a bunch of girlfriends back then? Wasn't Camilla just one of them?
Very true what you say.. Diana would highly likely have not ended up in that fatal accident..the British monarchy have alot to answer for..
@@l.a.3479 well she would have been a nobody and Dodi and his father wouldn't have been interested in her and the paparazzi wouldn't care about her.
Royal family, scandal or not. Why would you want to read your family member’s intimate phone calls? Disgusting 😅
I was thinking the same watching but in the end it’s not just their family members gossip it’s a scandal that impacts all of them and they could be asked to comment at any moment I’m sure it sucks but to be prepared and professional you’d have to at least know the gist of what was said besides maybe irl they just got told the cliff notes and not actually read the stuff themselves
😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂screaming at The Queens and Princess Ann's disgust at reading it. Lmaooooooo
On the other hand, I feel so sorry for Diana 😔
The Prime Minister’s face was also hilarious at 2:45 😂 😂😂😂
@@cardoclarke2494
Yes! It confirmed all of her suspicions
about Charles never loving her at all.
I felt bad for both of them to be honest, I can't imagine the humiliation they've felt. So sad for diana to hear that.
Yes. Awful for everyone.
In the early 1990s Diana had Squidgy gate tapes with James Gilbey! She was not the innocent type either...

And they bring billions to their country in tourism alone. The British Royal family are a historical symbol. And they are allowed to have a private life. Like everyone else with a public job.

camilla is the mother, he never had, and a lover in one
I had a sonsband, too.
That’s gross
Exactly. He likes the kind of woman Camilla is partly bc of his issues with his mother. 100%
of course. Just like Edward with Walis. Harry with Meghan, All the Windsor boys need a mother to tell thim they will do a great job.

If what you say is correct -- That is just sick, sick,
sick! No wonder he could not handle a woman
who did not immediately conform, indeed
morph into his psychological mother!
Diana herself, was young, very immature and
psychologically needy. When with a man
she required constant reassurance --- One of
the reasons that her relationship with that Khan

calling him (all day long) when he was at work.

She was interested in the crown and she succeeded in having it… at last
@@albertodeangelis9291A Whore wears the Crown 👑
@@JoanMorrison-vq2jcI disagree with you about Kate. I don’t believe Carole was premeditated at all. For the most part she left Kate to make her own choices about William. Kate was 18 when she went to uni, and she was seeing another man. She just didn’t want to dump her life and transfer for the other man and the other man fully expected her to. Need I remind you William went after Kate, she didn’t go after William. She never chased him. She had many classes with him. They both majored in the same subject.

Respect? She got her respect but didn't earn it. Did Diana GIVE any respect? Diana, too broke a lot of hearts!!!
Brilliant brilliant brilliant drama. The actress playing Camilla is so believable. The way the conversation develops is compelling. It is measured and natural, building up slowly and inexorably to the gruesome, cringeworthy climax. The contrast, between the thoughtless silliness of the conversation, and its truly appalling ramifications and ultimately tragic consequences, is spine-tingling.
"Spine-tingling"? No. Gross? Yes.

I love Margaret’s expression 😂😂😂
I wonder if the Queen and Prince Phillip tore Charles a new one after this came out?
I’m told they never watch the show
@@pixiepalasmr6881 but this was all over when the call leaked.
@@pixiepalasmr6881I believe Vodkagal was referring to the real life publication of the phone call transcript back in the 90s
I very much doubt it since they both had a perfect record for being don't-bother-me "parents". More likely "Oh don't do that Charles." End of effort.
Oh, I'm sure they did.
Its not like they weren't both at it.
Well this was the most cringy conversation I ever heard. 🤦🏼♀️
I find it so awful - such intrusion to the private lives, to private conversation, with later on was made a public matter. It really is a matter between two people, how they talk to each other - it's their business. And no one elses.
*which
Yes, but if you're not cheating it's better. You can say whatever you want to your girl/boyfriend, it's your business, but as long as someone else is involved and suffer in the equation, you're wrong and I think somehow you bring this on yourself.
As I have said before if she truly loved him she should have waited for him to return.
At the time she was
in love with Andrew
Parker-Bowles. For
her, Charles was
a diversion and a
way to make Andrew
jealous.
These boomers and their sex talk.🤢🤣
The crown made me feel so much hate for someone I didn’t know. I was so angry but in the end Love is so strange sometimes
They had no integrity and dignity. Damn.
This staged conversation sounds not nearly as bad as the quoted lines in the newspaper that i read.
It's easier to see it's just a silly lovers' sex talk.
It should never have been published or made public at all.
How would everyone feel if some silly or nasty thing you said in private, when tired, was published and read far and wide?
Remember the SNL skit? Dana Carvey played HRH, I believe. (Charles dreams he gets his wish.)
Yeah, we are alll Anne in this moment.
I’m almost embarassed for Dominic West that he had to act out this conversation.
But he managed to make it sound less stupid than the real recording.
Hearing this was both disgusting and hilarious 😅 to see that everyone in the world knew about these gory details is just an embarrassing scandal
Didn't Diana and James Gilbey have Squidgy Tapes in the early 1990s???
This is a private moment between two people in love.
Too bad both of them married to other people.
Too bad it got leaked.
What an unfortunate timing for them.
They made the mistake of thinking
that a cell phone was a secure as
a landline.
Also, earlier, before automatic
dialing, people who used landlines
knew that the telephone switchboard
operators could hear conversations.
They weren't supposed to eavesdrop
but it is no secret that some people
paid them money for good information.
Poor HRH Princess Diana so completely and utterly betrayed and manipulated by the man she fell in love with -- KC and Camila legacy is that of self indulgence never a thought for anyone else.
Definitely TMI!
This is actually sad

That actress is too pretty to play Camilla. They should have used an actual horse. 😊
That is so heartbreaking for Diana. How could you do that while married to someone else?
That was awkward
Those Squidgy Tapes were AWKWARD too when Diana took up with James Gilbey in the early 1990's. I wonder if Diana "leaked them"?
Who can tap into the royal courtiers phones and leaks all phone calls or this intimate booty call between 2 lovers ? ?

Brits were such prudes about this. We've all been in love like that. It's great to have a king who can love passionately.
No. I personally want deeper conversation from a man, and more romantic pillow-talk than fantasies about being a tampon! Ugh.
Nationality has nothing to do with it. It’s just common sense. If you’re married and in love with someone other than your spouse and get caught cheating, people are gonna talk about you.
Yeah and it would be totally fine... if he didn't happen to be married to someone else.
Over the years I have come to sympathize with them. Diana had the public’s love and Camilla had the private, intimate love that Diana sought for.
This is a love story. It’s cringe because the public was never supposed to hear it. It wasn’t cringey to them. That’s probably always how they always spoke to one another.
I hope to find someone who loves me as much as Charles loves Camilla. Demonized love story because of the public’s love for Diana.
No, it's demonized because it broke two families. It also made people realise that the future King's word is not reliable. (He spoke his wedding vows to Diana before God and the public during his wedding while being obsessed with Camilla.)
