nice mask.. and something is definitely better than nothing.... but the virus particle is small enough to defeat an N95 mask.... only P100 filters are known to defeat the virus particulate... and you MUST protect your eyes...

@@elpochonylagorda3390 Sand, is general are large particles so you don't really need a special filter (n95/n99) for it; like you do for exhaust or fine PM dust. For the desert you'd be better off with a more multi-purpose cloth shemagh
As someone with asthma, I always have an asthma attack when the air quality around me is crappy, but when I move to somewhere with cleaner air, it gets better. This mask could actually help me a lot.
It does. Just got one and man its crazy how the air is fresher and no problems even when your in winter or wet mold areas. Your going to luv one. Lol take it off for a few when shopping as you'll stand out tho lol

I just ordered my second Respro allergy/chemical sensitivites mask. They are wonderful products. Quality is very good. The fit is crucial but they now offer "pro seal" a product like a gasket (lol) that creates a better seal for those who need it. Their customer service has been great as well. I filled out the online questionnaire to determine right size then ordered. I would add that i couldnt socialize or go to a store without becoming ill. With the mask i was able to be out and about for the first time in years. The cost is higher than i like but i can't argue with the success of my experiences. I'm not sickened by perfumes, cigarette smoke, fabric softeners, detergents, exhaust, and much more.

Good review, honest. You didn't make any false claims, and I like that you said it is subjective not quantitative. I am still leary of those detachable valves, durability, and all the screwing and unscrewing, seems like potential for leakage and and my experience with Velcro is that after fastening, unfastening so many times it no longer holds properly.
The challenge with this type of mask beside the menacing look is when you are replacing the filter you end up touching the outside of the filter if you’re not too careful. Certainly in any flu or pandemic situation that would be an issue and you would have to wear disposable gloves and also have to be careful not to contaminate the outer layer of the mask. Few comments:
*I have a box of those N95 masks - and have had a couple at the bottom of my EDC rucksack for about a year. Pretty sure I've ripped the cellophane on them but on the one occasion I've used one I didn't really get any benefit: I commute on the London Underground and was on a train that went through a station under renovation that stunk heavily of solvents. Turned out the mask did absolutely nothing as it only targets particulates not VOCs / solvents in the air! I thought it was a good point you raised about industrial pollutants.
*You said it costs 36 Euros but the price is in BRITISH pounds!! I'm in no way a nationalist (more of a 'quietly patriotic' type) but it made me chuckle as there is a referendum in the UK coming shortly about leaving the European Union (our version of NAFTA)!
*I'm looking at long distance cycling as I'm moving house to a part of London with poor train links but good cycle paths. I think heat buildup and condensation might be an issue when actually cycling / doing anything strenuous. Did you manage to build up a sweat wearing it?
*On bikes in London there area lot of people wearing these - I think 'looking odd' probably depends on the context!

I'm just here because I wish masks would be a mainstream part of society. Why should I have to show everyone my face? Why should everyone stare at people.wearing masks in public? Where I am from the meth heads are ruining it for everyone.
Respro came out and said you can wash the filters indefinitely. Just don't machine wash. Soak it in boiling water then let dry. You can do this multiple times without damaging the filter.
So the mask can last as long as you want.

bro does this work for mold. i suffer severe allergies and i have been using a ffp3/n99 mask regularly so does this help ?
Will this protect from oil mist? I work in a power plant and we do not require a respirator but I believe this will help my health over the years.

Hard to tell with their confusing marketing jargon, but it seems to have the same filter as the Techno (though it also comes with a lighter sports filter?) with softer materials and a "better" valve.
Have you reviewed or recommend any safety glasses or tactical clear glasses for a bug out bag, to go with the mask in the case of some emergency?

Incredible that it actually fits you. I need a proper half-face respirator with a strap system to get a usable seal.
You can get a respro proseal to add on to any of their masks. Made from some kind of rubber type polymer, it makes a perfect seal

I know this comment is not directly related to this video, but I wanted to share with everyone something special about the Urban Prepper. I had won a flashlight for my daughter in one of his give away contests. After a month had went by I never received the item. I contacted him and without hesitation he resent the item, thanks USPS for loosing the package! I not only received the item, that will be a gift for my daughter, he included a thank you card. This channel, in my opinion, is not only about being prepared it's about relationships. This kind gesture went a long way to which I have shared with several friends. My channel is all about the inner relationships between all of us. I imagine most of us are in the same boat with regard to preparedness dialogue in our daily lives, or the lack thereof. Most people in my non-TH-cam life are not interested in talking about preparedness topics whatsoever. That is why TH-cam is such a great platform for meeting and collaborating with like-minded people. @@Jade_The_Peryton I have asthma and i don't know if anyone feels what i feel when you're mouth and nose is covered. I could wear scarf, ski mask, dust mack and even surgical mask and feel as if im not getting as much air into my lungs then i do without them.
@@adelgado8917 I find that fleece scarves/ski masks help my breathing esp when running or in cold winter weather; I start uncontrollably coughing without them. My neighbor just told me I probably have exercise-induced asthma and I should get an inhaler with a "spacer" from my PCP; fyi my neighbor is the Dept Head of Pedriatic Pulmonology at a local children's hospital. I have pollen allergies too, so I'm still thinking of getting a filter mask.
I have asthma too and these masks have helped noticeably. One advantage that I do not see that many people talk about is the relatively warm air buffer that it creates, which also helps in winter (cold air combined with exercise triggers my asthma every time and it seems to be a common issue).

I don't have a problem with mine. Especially with the Pro-Seal. That was my issue with masks that don't fit tightly across my cheekbones.
How hard was it to breath and how hot does it get in looking into this or electrical options.you would do me a great services doing so. Wearing for a shift.

I live in a house with someone who is recovering from cancer. My father's a doctor and has brought home a couple of the N95 masks, but I don't want to throw them away every few hour or every day when doctors, nurses, etc.. can be using them. I've been showing symptoms and am quarantined in my house with a mother going through chemo. so I want to take as many precautions as possible. Would something like this be a suitable, reusable alternative as a mask when I'm around my mom as a safety precaution for me to wear around her? Just trying to find the best option for the time being. Plus when this is all over it wouldn't hurt to have a facemask for cycling when the pollen is awful or pollution is especially bad.
Subscribed. not many people use these Respro Mask (or at least it's difficult to find information on these masks on youtube). We live on the west coast where the annual wild fire is now a monthly-thing. Would you think that this mask can filter out all that wonderful smoke? We got the Respro Ultralight Mask to aid us in our bike commute, but we might really need to get the respro equivallent "hepa" filter to reap its full benefit. I concur that the fit is an issue, I was aware of this draw back prior to purchasing and I expected to have to adjust it some. We will be getting some "ear loops" and we will try to somehow configure that onto the mask to help with the fit. The "bottom" of the mask sort of allows for an "opening" and just doesn't seal well unless we tug the nose piece way tight which, well, overtime, I suppose we'll simply get flatter and flatter noses. lol ... all joking aside, the mask is very easy to breathe with. I was curious as to your thoughts on the smoke filtration capability pertaining to this specific mask.
Greetings and salutations,I have been looking into purchasing masks for myself as well. The main reason I have not gotten one yet was because it looked out of place in most settings and would just attract unwanted attention. I like being prepared while going about using the "greyman" principles. Could you try sublimating an image over the mask? I have seen a mask that had the face of another person. If the aluminum was removable I believe neoprene masks could be sublimated to take a printed image.

It looks like a good mask for Covid-19, but some people are wise to exhaust valves and may say something to you. If I didn't already have a 3M half-face with P-100 filters I would look into these. Great review, thanks.
Nice video, I'd be interested in similar products that have the N95 rating for air-borne contagions as well as pollutants, or did I miss that bit in the video and it already is?
I've now moved to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, so pollution is a big issue here, they also have big problems with smoke from burning rain forest to clear for palm oil plantations so I'll be getting something like this soon.

*_I have some of the N99's that look the very same as those N95's shown at the start. I got about 10 - 15 of them while visiting my sick brother last year. [Turns out he has COPD] So when i saw this i checked & they were N99. I had forgot i had them actually so handy find_*
How I can know which size fits me?
These are actually quite good for fragrance/airborne allergies. It has allowed me to travel however I wouldn't recommend for exercise unless you have great lungs.

Two questions, did you exercise in it at all? I wonder how it would be to chop wood in it or run a short distance in it. Also, have you looked at the competitor that IS on Amazon? I can't look it up right now but The Daily Shooter did a video on it last month. (Probably easier to find it on Amazon, LOL).
Hello Urban Prepper, does having a beard affect the seal? Is this masked sport friendly i.e. Cardio, training in boxing or martial arts etc.
It fits me fairly well. I feel that it fits me better than standard N95 masks. It's designed to be used for active use and can be washed. I imagine that the neoprene will start to smell over time without washing.
I have an UltraLight, which is not neoprene, and is designed for active sports. Love it.

I like that it has the charcoal filter, but that thing is huge compared to a VogMask. I'll check their site to see if they make one with simple ear loops. Good review.

+TheUrbanPrepper I had fitting issues with mine. I bought it one size too big. But the one I bought for my wife fits me perfectly. I have facial hair, too, so it's not a perfect seal, but it's very comfortable and packs easily away in my bag, my kid's backpacks, and my wife's purse.
They have them with appealing designs, so my wife and kids would wear them. I don't think I could have talked them into wearing black or the industrial white ones.
We live in South Korea, having one has become a necessity for my family. We get air quality alerts all the time over here. I did a review of them. If it's okay, I'll post a link here.

They have other skins besides just black, but they still have a more extreme sports look (wild colors & patterns), rather than just walking around town or emergency preparedness. So you look like a snowboarder, instead of a super-villian.

Buenas, después de leer un poco sobre los filtros Respro, he visto que hay dos. Uno el H-type (HEPA) y el otro DACC (CARBONO). O eso es lo que he entendido. El H-TYPE es del tipo FFP1 y el DACC no lo sé si sera FFP3. Me gustaría que me digeran si hay algún filtro que combine estos dos tipos o alguno que cumpla con el tipo FFP3. En un principio una la quiero porque voy mucho en moto por Madrid, pero como está el tema de los virus en este momento tmb la querría aprovechar para esta situación. Saludos JCGB

Great question! I'll need to look into the size of those type of gases. It's rated to 0.3 PM. I imagine it would "at least" help reduce the intake compared to using nothing at all.

How do the filters work? You use them for 70 hours and then you throw them away or do you wash them and they're ready for use?

Good idea!
Pepper spray is a liquid, and it's going to affect your skin and eyes more than it affects your lungs. I was sprayed with pepper spray twice per year for 7 years, and after you get sprayed the first time and know what to expect it's really not that big of a deal anyway.
is it part of your job or what that makes you receive pepper spay attack so frequently??
I was a military police officer in the Army. We had to be pepper sprayed biannually and go through the gas chamber annually.

I don't get cheek marks, although you may get nose pressure if you wrap it extra tight and squeeze the metal bridge too tightly.
