Jim is such a nice person. He is my wife and I favorite author and we met him about nine years ago at a con at a book signing. We had our infant son with us in a stroller And Jim’s face just lit up when he saw our son asked if he could hold him. He talked to us for about 10 minutes Mainly about his kids, our kids and being parents. Our son still has the picture that he got with Jim on his dresser and even though he’s still a bit young for most of his books, he will always say that Jim Butcher is his favorite author because he got to meet him.

Jim. it pleases me greatly each time I have the chance to show my admiration for your writing in the most sincere way I know of. I exchange my hard earned money for the privilege of reading your next work, and they give me great pleasure to read and then reread later.
Guys, I've run I dunno, 25, maybe 30 autograph sessions for Jim Butcher and he is exactly the same guy you see here. He is kind to his fans, generous with his time, and a genuine pleasure to work with. That's just an FYI. They say "Don't meet your heroes, you'll be disappointed" but sometimes when you meet your heroes, they are genuine, first class people.

The last two books were the worst in the series. Jim used to write a Dresden Files novel every year. Then he started writing the Fury books, and he was writing one of each per year. They were all great. Then he gets a divorce and takes years to write anything because he’s too busy doing whatever, and the quality suffers. It’s been a real disappointment.

Jim Butcher is the only author I’ll buy before even looking into the series. I own every single one of his books that has been published so far. I’m waiting patiently for Twelve Months. I bought all of Codex Alera on audiobook before I even listened to Fury’s of Calderon. Hell I’ve bought some of his books twice, I own physical copies and audiobooks for every Dresden book. I did the same thing with The Olympian Affair.
All that said I’d love for him to revisit the world of Carna, I’ve been rereading Codex Alera over the last month or two. I’m a little past the midway point in Captain’s Fury.

I firmly and respectfully disagree. Peace Talks and Battle Ground are two of my top five fantasy novels, but I’ll admit I’m very biased, I identify with Harry in alot of ways. I also enjoyed The Olympian Affair, it wasn’t his best work true, but it’s not his worst either. Then again, I don’t think he’s written a book I dislike.

10:11 I was not a fan of Blackthorne's Dresden. He was a solid cop but didn't feel like Harry to me. It could have been some of the big things that made Harry, Harry. No duster, which was a huge part of the character, his staff and wand being a hockey stick and drum stick, and Bob being a wizard spirit vs a spirit of intellect. Karen was supposed to have short blonde hair, just so different from the books it was off putting for me personally...still watched it and bought on DVD but would have preferred a more book accurate adaptation. I love the audio book and physical books, read and listened on audible to all of them. To me James Marsters is Dresden to me and would have been amazing, I also thought Benedict Cumberbatch could have pulled it off.

I think with all the eagerness for 'franchise properties' that the Dresden Files would be a sure bet. It really think I'd be more invested in that story (told well) than any Marvel, Star Wars, or GRRMartin worlds. And, as a massive Tolkien fan, I would even take it over more Tolkien because - frankly - I'm not sure anyone is going to do a decent job with Tolkien anytime in the near future. I'm ready and waiting for the next Dresden book to be released.

A new Dresden File TV series would be great on a streaming app. MAX, Prime, or Hulu. Just not Netflix as they cancel anything half way decent after 1 season. Make each book a season (stick little short episodes in to tell the short stories before and between). The most important thing is set it in the 90/early 00s. When people still used land lines and the internet was just revving up. Lastly, you have to cast Nicholas Braun as Harry. He is mid 30s, 6'7, lean, with hawkish features.

I used to write video games, mostly Atari and C-64. Piracy was a thing, and to be open, I was as guilt as anyone... Let's face it, most of what was out there was crap.
So If I grabbed a game, a tool, any software that I found to be valuable; even though I'd pirated it, I'd go out and buy a copy! Let the author get paid.
Jim is right, it's too easy to pirate Dresden Files, especially the audio versions... But if you do, consider paying for them after the fact. Consider it a courtesy to the artist. Sort of like tipping your waiter.
