Per @theLookoutDBS, final numbers show a much more diversified field with 51% of players at NC on ToPKu. The original posts numbers were based on second hand accounts of what people said was announced on the livestream. Not AS bad; but very much still an issue when you account topcut representation is still 87%, which imo is more impressive since it ups the conversion rate of the deck.
I don't know man I was in North Carolina too and it looked like literally 70 to 80% topku lol

I'm looking to get into the physical game after playing the digital version since launch. Would I need to buy a starter deck to play or should I just leave it to luck and maybe I can pull one of the new set 2 leaders from the 2 booster boxes I just ordered?
As a red main i was expecting it to be good but if its just straight up above everything i might just stop playing it, i hate playing overpowered stuff in games

Good content & agree 100%. Hats off on the ratification suggestion as well. I think that's a good ratta that keeps the leader in game & viable while toning it's power down. Limits the free plays &/or forces additional charges for player to push their board development.
Honestly the biggest culprit is kefla to me

Kefla isn't the problem. It's paying 1 for kefla. That's like saying recoome is a problem for yellow. It's basically the same thing just a tiny bit better.

No kefla is not the problem. Its the leader. We have card that does the same as kefla in other color decks. Stop saying its kefla. Good player will say its the leader that make kefla look like its the problem when it not. Its leader. Okay? Ban kefla but what happen if set 3 get more good red battle cards tat allow the leader to play them with 1 energy, now what? The leader then is the problem. Some of u guys just blown my mind how yall think its kefla.

I don’t mind your errata to the leader idea. I believe they could give Kefla the Broly Crown treatment from Masters. Errata it to say “this card can’t be played off of skills.”
I'm excited to play but considering I couldn't find product and have so far only pulled like 3 total red srs(I've maxed out 2 rarities for scr gohan and have the god rare goku but 1 hit somehow) it's gonna be rough. Hopefully I can snag some stuff for my vegeta build but grinding is gonna be rough unless that ban comes out
for me this is reminiscent of when masters released mecha frieza... its quite literally around the same time too which is hilarious

You can't cheat out the double strike and can't cheat out Kefla this way

I'm completely on your side, I would also perhaps suggest taking away kefla's (power tournament) and it would work well in my opinion
What about restricting Kefla to 1 or 2 copies ?
Card fight Vanguard has this good restriction mechanic I think other games should copy it's called Choice restriction. Basically bother cards are still legal but you can't use both of them together in the same deck. They could choice restric Kefla and Topku so everyone else still has Kefla and the problem combo gets fixed

@EspiraTCG since I have been playing fusion world I have gotten to play every deck and yeah green has been over powered and most played but 2nd is yellow frieza which kinda has the same ability to cheat out cards same as topku and can be hard to beat sometimes but I do think red needs to be errata'd to maybe match the same speed as yellow frieza so its not so overwhelming to play against and players like me and others who get discouraged from playing a new version of the game and investing money into it to be knocked out all the time by unbeatable decks. So I do agree with the erratas you listed maybe they just need a restriction to match the 3 drop yellow recoome maybe?
Cardfight vanguard has choice restriction where card A and card B under the choice restrict list cannot be in the same deck. This could remove the enablers from topku or the double strike while only impacting topku and not the rest of red.
This is exactly what I was talking to my locals about what I would like to see more of. Choice restricts are a great choice of curbing power.

but in all seriousness, another way they could fix the kefla issue is give it the ginyu treatment, where you can only play 1 Kefla per turn.

I played masters for so long now and i droped fw 5 weeks ago.
I got first place at my regionals for masters in germany reacently (all my goals are completed for this game) and i thinking to drop bandai tcgs in general.
Dont matter if i love dragonball and masters slowly getting better and better stuff like this shows me that they simplie dont care and im losing faith that this company can make a healthy and competetive TCG and i survived the ss4 Gogeta meta, the cell surge meta, the mecha frieza meta, the hirudegarn storm meta, the 5min gameplay king vegeta meta and im still here.
Im just losing slowly but surely any hope for a success with this company.
And yea one piece during pretty good but lets be honest, can one piece complete with Magic or yugioh? I dont think so

Masters errata'd Mecha Frieza during set 2. Shit happens, they should tweak it.
FW had alot of momentum until the players remembered its developed by Bandai
My concern is that Bandai R&D lacked the foresight to see how this set would not work, and this is only set 2. Does not give me confidence to invest in the game moving forward.

Bandai did something in OPTCG recently, for a similar situation with an OP and over represented leader. They banned the leader and have released a replacement, weakened version that you can get for free at local store events.
I think that is a good solution.
Also, I played against a TopKu player that couldn’t afford Kefla yet (using Broly) and it was an easy win. Kefla and Ribrianne are critical, but without Kefla I don’t fear the deck as much. I was playing around a possible Kefla until I relished that he just didn’t have it and then went for the win.
I don’t mind the leader ban, if they quickly produce and supply the replacement. I also think removing Kefla, while weakening TopKu, hurts all other red decks.

Definitely something has to be done. I'd say double check the translation of the "problematic" cards, maybe something was lost there. Then if it actually was a mishap from the designers, ok adjust.

Yea because everyone jumped on the bandwagon and played green. Meanwhile I played u7 and dominated green most matches, especially Broly. Had everyone bandwagoned u7, we would have been saying u7 was tier 0.
TOPKU may be a strong leader but he is beaten by the opponent if they can keep cards in hand or take out your cards by throwing them at the bottom of the deck or removing them. each color has its way of being broken and being beaten it is just a skill issues when it comes down to it all.
add "limit one" to leader and "unique" to kefla. problem solved.

I think that unfortunately, banning the leader is the right move. If the ToPku leader stays around, then it will only become more powerful as new ToP cards come out. We know that Bandai is bad about taking old leaders into account when they design new sets and they don't playtest new sets with anything outside of that set which is why Golden Frieza was such an issue in Masters. Unfortunately, Bandai messed up big with this leader and it could end up killing the physical and digital versions if they don't correct this ASAP.
The first set green felt like it was tier 1, but could be beaten. This is the second set and red just feels awful to play against, and feels above and beyond everything else. It does not bode well for the future of the game.
I think Topku shouldn’t have a draw to make it more fair 💯
Everyone says Kefla is the worst but I personally think 17 makes this the most unbearable. The +5k to lead permanent and immunity to effects is devious
He's only immune itself and only to KO from Battle Cards. Red and blue can deal with him easily, and yellow can rest him and attack him. Only green struggles against him.

I had my suspicion with set 1, but set 2 basically hard confirms that they aren't even doing a speck of playtesting.
How much money is Bandai paying to build and fund this game, both digitally and physically, and the dev team can't even be bothered to play test a few games to see if their game is even slightly balanced?

Sometimes I wonder if Bandai plays the games they create. Why would they not test this deck out during the creation process and then realize it's way too much. Now we have to wait until an entire new set for this game to be fun. We were just getting over the Broly dominance.
Bandai only playtests within the set they are designing. They don't account for other cards from previous sets when they design.

Ban or restrictions please. I quit ScoreZ and Masters because they implemented functional errata changes other than mistranslation changes. Since releasing Digimon Bandai has only made those types of changes, not like the Mecha-Frieza change. If their intention is to make a game that can have better longevity than Masters then they will need to implement the Magic method of bans and rotations.
I don't really like ban card or change the words on a card. Main reason I left Yu-Gi-Oh not gonna lie deck goes crazy though

A few limits to some of the best cards and the errata to TOP Goku could definitely help. But we are so early in the meta of set two that we need more time to see what truly needs to happen. There is a chance that people will learn to counter the TOP Goku match or find a way to beat it. But for now, we are in a possible format that could harm the health of Fusion World.
Finally can agree that this meta sucks not good for a new card game
tier 0 formats suck. A good player will always thrive even in diverse formats. it makes the game bland and super one dimensional. its barely set 2 we want the game to be played by everyone and be open so it can grow zzzzsz

Well the Top 2 Regional finalists in Cologne played Beerus and both went 2/0 vs Topku and they said Beerus is the Best Deck, lets see how people adapt and how the Regionals at June look like.
I will stop playing until this is fixed. I refuse to play a tier 0 format.
I think the best outcome would be to specifically attack the Leader+Kefla combination, maybe by preventing Kefla from being played by effects.
Barring that, nerfing the Leader generically or banning him might hurt the one deck, but that's not that bad. Especially through the eyes of Bandai, people would still need all the red SRs for every other red deck.
I wouldn't like seeing Kefla banned or limited, because I think she plays well in other red decks, so this wouldn't really diversify anything. Topku would still be the best deck, just nerfed.

Topku isn't tier 0 other decks can beat it tier 0 was tierlaments on release its kashtira on release I've seen topku lose a lot in Japanese events and on American testing streams people need to get over this tier 0 notion it's tier 1 but other decks can win tier 0 means they out right can't win at all no chance if you saw tierlaments ishizu pop off you scooped you don't ever do that for topku
How many topku were in those top 16s vs decks that werent him lol. Tier 0 doesnt mean decks cant beat it or may not win from time to time. When a deck is taking 12-14 slots of a top 16 at multiple events. Its tier zero 😆
83% presentation (Across all regions). Not a single deck other than Topku won an event.
174/200 people played Topku at the most recent American regional. It's okay to call it a Tier 0 deck.
Brother tearlaments only had 55% representation in top cut in OCG. Literally 45% other decks WERE WINNING INTO TEARLA. Wtf are you talking about

@RandomLILZAY1 well when you have everyone and their mom telling you topku is the best what deck do you think they are gonna play it only makes sense that it had that much rep in top 16 cause I can guarantee you most of that tournament was topku and I can guarantee you that a lot of topku players got beat by wack decks like goku black or trunks and what I'm saying is true all I see are people talking as if the deck can't lose when it clearly can no deck in fw to this point has ever been an auto win and topku isn't either

Everybody and their momma plays him, and the ones that aren't don't know how to deal with him. That doesn't make it tier 0. That means everyone bandwagons, like usual. Set 1 green wasn't op either.
I agree that we need to see what some other decks can do once it releases digitally. It is easy to use, easy to build and the set is a week old. Generally takes 3-4 weeks for a format to work itself out.

can confirm i play yellow and i have a 90% winrate on this, its just that people refuse to play anything that is not listed as top 3 in tier lists and yet they complain, the meta usually correct itself its just that the demographics of this game (OPtcg included) is filled with people that just see the top listed deck and stick with it and it gets overrepresented but that doesn't make it a tier 0
Just wait until the next set and they will release another broken hero that out shadows Topku 🫡😴
