I unicycle at my school. I have been riding for about a year and a half and I can only ride a few laps around my gym and I can only ride, I cant idle or free mount. This video helps me a lot. Thank you!!
Great tutorial! I especially like the small steps like jumping over, holding to things with 2 and 1 finger, and eventually free mount. That's exactly how to learn to do things efficiently. I'll be trying this out soon.
Thank you man for the tips, I will try them in my next practicing session! In my journey of unicycling (about two months so far) I came to realize that the best tutorials and tips don't come from profis who have been unicycling for years, but from those who've just mastered a technique or a skill. The learning process is still fresh in their memory and they don't execute the movements very smoothly and perfectly. You see how they are still struggling or shaking, which gives you an idea of how it's going to be for you. Thanks!
I think this video will really help me, thank you! I am just learning the basics at the moment, but I like how you didn't just say "This is how you do it!" and instead showed how you can do it in stages and build up your confidence!
Thx bro for this video. I went from being able to mount it maybe 1/5 times to 4/5 in 35 minutes. The trick is just to put a lot of weight of the handle. Also, this will help me impress a girl
Thanks mate, that worked for me perfectly although I did fall off many, many times first..... !! I kept watching this clip and going out and trying for ages, but now....
great video, thanks for making it! I finally got off the wall today and was able to go a few hundred feet, so once I've mastered that it's free mounting next :)
Thanks for this tutorial, looking forward to using these tips later. The audio did hurt my ears quite a lot though. Next time I'd recommend covering the mic with a sock or something and using some preseason your editing software to eradicate any wind. :)
Excellent video! I used to ride with my young daughters many years ago and now want to begin again. What type of unicycle are you using and what size wheel?
Yeah, caught me by surprise too; foreigner recording a unicycle tutorial in a rather remote resort in Korea of all things. For anyone curious, he's in Seocheon, just west of Chuncheon City and directly NW of the Jade Palace golf course along the river. (37.843570, 127.538028). I hear unicycling is somewhat common in Chuncheon though so maybe he's not totally out of place.
I've been unicycling off and on for many years and still can't free mount. When I hop up on the seat I can't always seem to have enough forward motion; my body leans forward, the uni stays put and I fall forward over and over and over.
@E C No it's because the pedals line up at top and bottom without any momentum, so pushing down on them wouldn't actually move them. It's ok now though, I learned how to mount without cranking at all, and now I can free mount perfectly! Thanks for your reply
do I have to use my dominant foot to mount? I got my unicycle about a week ago and have been practicing with my non dominant foot because its more comfortable for me. is this wrong?
😎👍👍 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 & 💎💎💎💎💎 Tomorrow is day 5 for me Unicycle beginner. Awesome demonstrate & learn material. Many many thanks! Sincerely Tom Weidler in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Anyone else hear that high pitch scream in the background? I've watched this on 3 different devices and it always squeals every time.
SonicTheHipster Me. You can't be too old to hear it. We are young so we are good at hearing it.
yeah, i did
I tuned it out because I have tinnitus
at what time???
Samantha Nagle the whole time
Very good tutorial! Your explanations and the skill progression you suggested made learning this look so much less daunting, thank you

Terrific video. I love the way this guy has video taped it and explains every nuance of how to do a free mount. Thank you.
This was a great video. It still takes time to get used to, but these were some great pointers to go off of. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Sometimes I think new people are better at teaching then experienced people because they remember the struggle.
Thank you so much. I am now able to freemount!! I completely agree with Vic Jang that the 2-1-0 finger approach is the best.
Planning to free mount by the end of the week thankyou
You need to invest in a body mic.
This is the best/easiest method for me (learning now). Thanks!!
That is great Juan, glad it was helpful.

PyroPenguin. Nice user name
Picked up my UNI yesterday. Some good tips.
Greetings from Durban, South Africa.
This exercise surely takes a superb control of body balance. Thanks for sharing.

Good video but there’s an annoying ringing noise giving me a headache
Sorry about that, was the mic I had at the time.

One of the toughest skills
good tutorial. Could you do one on a rolling mount?
i have a TCM unicycle but I wanna buy a new unicycle, what kind should I buy and which wheele size is the best for those tricks, can you help me?
My seat always turn left and turn right, what do I do to keep the seat stay glue straight forward so seat won’t move around?
I would suggest tightening the bolt on the seat post. You can even as a drop op locktight on the shaft of the post.
Very good video, I'll try it in the morning!
Thank you, this video helped a lot!
Thank you very much. Your tips are the most that helped me.
Does anyone have any tips for my wheels locking when I try this? Whenever I try it the pedals end up at the top and bottom and I can't get going.
@E C No it's because the pedals line up at top and bottom without any momentum, so pushing down on them wouldn't actually move them. It's ok now though, I learned how to mount without cranking at all, and now I can free mount perfectly! Thanks for your reply
Great tips there

Ajax! XXX
A white guy riding around on a unicycle in Korea? You probably look as out of place as I do riding around on mine in China!
U talking too much
the intro is wayyyyy too long
this dude talks way to much you literally just step onto the unicycle and practice it over and over until you get it thats it
If it was that easy why are you watching videos on how to free mount?
@@ErloBrown1 Exactly. I love the way the guy explains everything bit by bit. Superb video.
