That I did, thanks! Was a lot of work considering I chose to reanimate everything rather than just the reload, but it was worth it in the end to capture the feel of the gun properly I think. One of the animators in the community is going to animate for me in the future though, because it really does take a while if you're doing every aspect yourself (aside from the sound and script work on this one).
Ah so an environment artist's role on a development team is to create art assets like vegetation, rocks, landscape, buildings, interiors and basically anything that counts as stuff making up the world. This is in contrast to a character artist's job, which is to create the humans, clothing and often creatures in a game as well. You have some other similar roles that can bleed into this one as well, like level designer, set dresser or weapon/prop artist.
Have this frappen cannon for over nine months now and my girlfriend still complains about my unstoppable maniacal cackling whenever I pull off a long range one-shot with this thing. I am actually a fallout 3 gauss rifle fan and you, my man, gave me the ultimate alternative. I thank you!
So much awesome in this mod, I've been using it for the past week and a half (Even went out of my way to grab the Legendary version on top of the sniper nest on that building (Vague to avoid spoilers if people care). My ONLY nitpick/minor complaint is that I need to learn to compensate for the small delay between clicking and the gun actually firing. It fits because the gun right now is double-action only, but I figure if there was a way to have the gun work as a Single/Double (Faster firing you can repeatedly click to rattle off shots as fast as the double action allows, but optionally wait for your character to fully cock the hammer between shots to eliminate the delay if precision and a smooth shot are required), it'd be absolutely perfect and beyond. Another thing that could be interesting is being able to fire the center shell/"Bonus Damage Shot" at will instead of needing to pop 9 shots to make it to the Money Shot as it were. Being able to "open up" with the big shot on a target (Perhaps have the big shot firing first apply a debuff to the target's armor rating/damage resistance?), or even change out the center shell from a large-bore rifled bullet to a large gauge shotgun shell or even an explosive shell. Absolutely beautiful weapon, regardless, and I'm getting used to using it bit by bit so hopefully I can put shots on target better in the future.
Less so if the front grip is nowhere near the gap, but that doesn't matter because I also sealed the cylinder/barrel connection ;) Anyway a revolver rifle was too cool an idea not to make into a mod, I'm not going to let that get in the way of a fun weapon for people to use
When I saw that this gun uses the .300 cal for the outer ring on the mod page, I thought that that type of bullet was bigger than a .50, just researched it, man, it's freaking tiny : www.quarryhs.co.uk/Long%20Range%20Sniping.htm Edit: Forgot to read the rest, where it says that the final upgrade makes the gun shoot .50, but it doesn't specify which type, by the size of the gun, I would say .50 AE, because there's no way that a .50 BMG would fit anywhere in this gun except the central tube.
I suppose like fallout having the 10mm pistol it's a fictitious .300 round, maybe something with a long .300 caliber bullet head and a elongated cartridge to get more boom powder 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks, but this is intended! The weapon is double action now, which means as the trigger is pulled, the hammer moves back, the cylinder turns, and the hammer is released to fire the round. This causes a delay, which is simulated in most games with revolvers, so I decided to incorporate it as well (and it makes the weapon a little more difficult/different/fun to use compared to the other single action revolvers in the game where you have to cock every round)
damn, that looks pretty awesome
thanks fam
Woah
The punch synchronisation was chefs kiss. 0:50
Jesus did you do the animations? they're REALLY good.

For someone who's not primarily an animator (at least I don't think you are?) it's really friggin good work man.
Haha thanks
Yeah I'm actually primarily an environment artist, Fallout 4 modding is a hobby but also good modelling and game engine practice.
What's an environment artist if you don't mind me asking?

Heh sorry. I should have put "side effect: causes unstoppable maniacal cackling" in the mod description. Cheers!
Had a smile the whole way through, very well put together video. Congrats
One of my favorite mods weapons. top-shelf brutality.

If you hold a revolver like this, you WILL lose fingers
Less so if the front grip is nowhere near the gap, but that doesn't matter because I also sealed the cylinder/barrel connection ;)

This thing is fuckin AWESOME but i wish the stock was bigger/ more robust. i feel like the one it has would snap under the weight of this beast.
The real .50 caliber here!

Warning: images in video may indeed be accurate.
Ok, seriously, looking forward to tracking down the legendary one now X3
A sweet gun,but the only drawback is the 1s(or 0.5s?) delay between you pull down the trigger and the bullet fire

Bet it’s louder than a desert eagle
