    I made a hat that keeps me dry in the rain, I think we've been stuck in the umbrella ages for too long so I wanted to give it a go to improve it. It certainly can protect you from the rain although it is super loud and not very practical. Every time you see a test there's an hour of cleanup after as the only place where I could make fake rain was inside the shop. The hose was probably way more intense than any rain that we usually get here but as I was expecting the weather wasn't going to collaborate on this one. As always let me know what you think in the comments.

    I am Japanese. I was very impressed by your uniquely innovative idea.
    I heard from my mother that since my childhood, I have always preferred being creative over imitating others.
    When my older brother and I were around three years old, my mother taught us how to play with building blocks.
    My brother, being very obedient, repeatedly made the exact same patterns with the blocks that our mother showed us, never tiring of it. On the other hand, I never once made the pattern my mother showed and would always change it on my own, creating different patterns each time, which seemed to slightly perplex her.
    My brother's straightforward nature earned him many friends. In contrast, because I did things differently, others saw me as not being straightforward, and I had fewer friends than my brother.
    Japan is different from other countries. In Japan, doing things differently from others tends to make you stand out a bit as a stranger.
    However, now there are slowly more people who appreciate doing things differently from others.

    Thank you for producing this TH-cam. I like TH-cams that teach me more than the subject matter of the YT.
    For instance, I grew up just a few years after the propeller beanies were popular. I never knew there were intended as a rain mitigating device.
    You should maybe think about having a motion detector on the hat because when you’re walking your front is moving not the rain snd you need the “inlet” to be forward biased when you’re walking.

    Congrats, looks like you figured out the flow problem at the end. Just remember, in all your flow problems, that your Massflow remains constant throughout the entire apparatus. ... And in the rare instance that it doesn't... prepare for explosions.

    • @BrokenLifeCycle
      @BrokenLifeCycle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the fan won't be able to sustain the flow rate if it's constricted that much unless it's capable of generating such pressures.

    • @Unmannedair
      @Unmannedair 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrokenLifeCycle I'll bet if you did the math you'd find that the cross section is constant as the air flows down the tube and thus construction would be minimal. The concept is that as the radius increases the distance between the plates decreases to maintain cross section. Obviously that can only work for so long before the gap is minimal. Thus it's an optimization problem.

    Making a Propeller-head into a Jet-head, water free.
    Also I can totally see a manga mech style design on the concept. With the jet intake to the back or two to the side and the bottom brim dropped to just above the ears.
    The head dome forming the flow director of the bottom brim.

    That was great and just like that stick version that came out a couple of years ago but failed as the battery only last 15 mins and everyone around you would get wet other than you. So all you need to do now is make it smaller perhaps embed it into the hat so you dont see it and then work out how much battery you would need for a good hour of use and you will have an amazing product :)
