Great video guys! Such a shame about the flood and customer service wasn’t great but we are glad you didn’t lose anything and managed to get at least some on board credit.
Hey Marcus over the last couple of days I've been binge watching your vlogs on walks around the Port Talbot area, as an English couple living down here in Cimla for twenty two years I find them really informative and have left positive comments on your page/s as we too like a walk but not too seriously. Anyway when surfing the net today I recognised you and it seems we have something in common, cruising. We've just watched a few of your vlogs together and enjoyed them, we too upload our cruise adventures but in a completely different format that's quick and easy to upload and no editing, more like a photo album to look back on and I do a write up as well. I intend no monetary gain from it as I'm just trying to help potential cruisers decide what ship to sail on, give them a taste of places we visited and to save our memories.
Thanks for watching, we'll take a look at the channel. We only started cruising less than 2 years ago. Like you, we started on TH-cam initially to record our trips for ourselves.
@@flydriveexplore Like I said above what initially drew me to your channel was your local walks, the information and history and then I discovered you both were cruisers, as I looked deeper into your channel/s I discovered that you appear to be a full time vlogger or vloggers? Anyway were enjoying your vlogs, watched a few today of you eating out, they looked good, to be honest we've had some disappointments locally and some lost interest. Good luck with your future cruises, our paths may cross one day.
Last time I we were in Madeira it was on Azura on our way to the Caribbean on the repositioning cruise and we stayed on for the next cruise so a 30 day trip which was excellent
I was amazed when I watched this vlog as we also found a brilliant cafe/ pub on the same street but at the other corner opposite some type of government building. If I remember the bill was less than €5 for a beer a coke and you got free tapas which was excellent so recommend this place also 👍
Thank you, really nice feedback, the beach looks lovely. At the end of the day it is mass tourism- I did a similar trip last year and it was exceptionally good value for money. Shore excursion was terrible but they gave me a reasonable refund. Staff super lovely.
A few years ago in Funchal we went into newsagent & in the postcards section they had the obligatory cruise ship picture ones... had to smile because they still had Costa Concordia ones for sale.
Hi Marcus very interesting video. How are you doing? How is the weather where you are? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. We have very cold weather in Ontario Canada. Have a great day see you next video 😊
Marcus, we had flooding problems with Holland and America. Just to let all cruise passengers know, all cruise lines have a generic policy where they don't promise you anything because they can't deliver. They won't talk to you about compensation in case you discuss it with other people. They treat passengers like idiots. THIS IS POLICY.
Think you’ve been very reasonable about the whole thing. We enjoyed Madeira but it was over 20 years ago (must go back). See Mel’s Celebrity pop socket is still coming in handy. Did you give some away as Xmas presents? 😂
Thank you for your honest opinion on your cruise with P&O , i'm sure people are not going to like my comments but, we went on P&O Venture last june 2024 and it was awful our cabin also flooded they had to move us to another cabin which was nice & bigger to be honest , got onboard credit but not offered very much for the inconvenience ! the food was horrible and the ship was full of the Norovirus bug of which hundreds lots of people went down with ,we personally would never cruise with P&O again!!
let me guess people dumping stuff down the loos. when i was on her they said over and over stop dumping things in the loos as this is what happens. good thing she is going in to dry dock
Stunning place, Utterly no excuse for poor CS it just heaps stress. From other channels these sort of water incidents happen from various sources so operators are aware of it. 2024 was a total right off with the chemotherapy sincerely hoping this year we get to Porthcawl, said it before the air there is like Valium
Hello both, Madeira looked very nice and great to see the sun. We did manage a dry day in Porthcawl last Thursday though! With our normal weather, such days are few and far between. Glad the flood didn’t spoil the cruise overall. Pity about customer service though. I think that when we first travelled with P and O around 12 years ago, it was more of a luxury line but not so these days. However the location is what matters at the end. Regards, Julie and Keith 🏴
Totally disagree, been last year and they gave me the best holiday ever. If you go looking for faults you will end up having a horrible time. PO have brought cruising to people who thought a cruise was for the rich, can't praise them enough.

Thanks both, and luckily we had really good weather too.
Great video guys x. Always love the banter between you 😂
Cheers and thanks again for watching.
Love the vlogs …..subscribed …keep them coming guys 👏👍
Thank you! Will do!

Now were back in Wales, we wish we were in the Caribbean.
Great video both, lush weather over there
Thanks, the weather was great 👍
Should have gone for the steak in the Beach house! i loved it on the lava block! 😀
Mel, did have one and enjoyed on Arvia last year. (Me - dare I say it, I don't eat steak)
Yeah we had it on Iona, it was the best meal I've ever had in my life, fantastic!
I was amazed when I watched this vlog as we also found a brilliant cafe/ pub on the same street but at the other corner opposite some type of government building.

We have to check that one out next time! 👍

Cool vlog thanks
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Going on Azura in a couple of weeks. Hope they've dried the carpets out.
Yep, they should be OK
A few years ago in Funchal we went into newsagent & in the postcards section they had the obligatory cruise ship picture ones... had to smile because they still had Costa Concordia ones for sale.
🤣 You should have bought some and sold them on eBay. I'm sure there's a market for macabre stuff like that.
Hi Marcus very interesting video. How are you doing? How is the weather where you are? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. We have very cold weather in Ontario Canada. Have a great day see you next video 😊
Hi both, the weather is dry with us. Hope it lasts.

Thanks for the info. Agree, it's not the best policy for the customers.
although the flood put a dampener on things you were able to enjoy the rest of the holiday and everyone was ok.
Yes, the weather was good too. Shame, that P&O couldn't keep us up to date about the situation, just simple communication.
What were your cruise dates?
It was a week from Jan 3rd
@@flydriveexplore We were on Iona then, celebrated the new year in Lisbon then set sail down to the Canaries.
@ One of the blokes I have coffee with in the morning was on that trip. He's a Harley Rider and looks exactly like one!
Think you’ve been very reasonable about the whole thing. We enjoyed Madeira but it was over 20 years ago (must go back). See Mel’s Celebrity pop socket is still coming in handy. Did you give some away as Xmas presents? 😂
Yes, we still have at two sack fulls of pop sockets left.
did you feedback on your suvey and emailled when you got home
Oh yes we did the survey ;) Mel
Don't tell him your name Pike😂
🤣👍

That doesn't sound like a great experience at all.
@@flydriveexplore No definitely not we normally cruise NCL .
@ We still haven't tried them, yet.
let me guess people dumping stuff down the loos. when i was on her they said over and over stop dumping things in the loos as this is what happens. good thing she is going in to dry dock
Nope, the flood from a burst pipe which supplied a pool. So luckily not stinky water.
I've been on two P&O cruises now and there isn't much endowing me to cruise with them again.
It would have to be a very good cruise or itinerary for us to book in the future.
PO. They're the best!

the air there is like Valium
Hi, hope you get chance to visit this year.
5000 Germans not to mention the Brits! Why would you?! I go on holiday to escape folk. Not be on a floating toilet 😅
Ok
Love you starting the video with a moan, I always agree with what you are saying 😂😂😂
🤣
OMG that sucks but at least you guys got OBC, they should give you a free cruise
Yes, it was at least something for the trouble.
Dodgy comments about other Europeans, poor show.
Really? What a dull world it would be if we couldn't have a friendly dig at our European neighbours.
@@flydriveexploreI did give you a stern look didn’t I! I am sure they moan about us Brits hogging sunbeds so I think it’s all good though.

@ Hi both, the weather made up for it. Yes, P&O is a very different cruise from a few years ago.
P &O customer service post Covid is dreadful. Will never cruise with again
