Seeing Ottie's character develop is absolutely adorable. What I appreciate about you and Zoe as parents is that you just talk to her normally. I feel like a proud Aunt watching her grow!

Maybe i’m just hormonal but alfie saying “well you don’t have to worry about that, daddy’s here!” made me start crying

It’s really heartwarming but also bittersweet watching Alfie love being a father so much when you didn’t have a good father figure growing up. Him saying the most challenging part of parenting is not having enough time with his child made me cry. It’s just really healing to see how it should be.

as a daughter who doesn’t have much of a relationship with their dad and had a turbulent family growing up , watching you and zoe and your parents fill otties life with so much joy and love heals my inner child, thank you

The ending bit has really got me thinking. It is wild to think that your kids will be able to watch you and hear how you spoke, and your mannerisms at 30. We can look back to photos of our parents and just assume what they were like because of the stories we hear but Ottie probably will watch these one day. It is wild to think that she will get to experience, to some level, you and zoe being young parents and what each day looked like, how you two spoke and acted, and so much more. That is crazy, truly crazy to think about.

I really think you were born to be a father. There are so many aspects of fatherhood that just seem so innate to you, like it all comes easy even though there can be challenging times. Ottie and your new little one are so fortunate to have you.

We usually see such a polished and perfected Alfie, I almost forgot that these vulnerable moments (like him tearing up at the end of the video) exist. It took me right back to watching young Alfie and he's right, time has absolutely FLOWN.

When you’re talking about time going so fast and making the most of everything - this becomes even more intense with your second child, particularly if she’s going to be your last child! We have two girls too (amazing) but this second time around I’ve felt like that even more. Soak it all up because it goes even faster second time!!! It’s insane x

  • @Sah0419
    @Sah0419 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +45

I hope you and Zoe know that Ottie’s speech is so amazing because you two have always spoken to her a lot, but also in your normal voices. A lot of times people speak to babies and young kids in a “baby voice” and it truly has a major impact on a child’s ability to learn how to pronounce words.

Alfie you made me cry so hard with your thoughts on parenting. I am 25 and for the last few years my dad always asks on my birthday how old i am turning. I remember from a very old vlog, that you both had just started dating and Zoe used to live near a beach, in the middle of the night Zoe wanted to go to the beach and you both went out despite it being freezing cold but you both were still so excited! Silent watcher here … when I was pregnant everyone with children were telling me how difficult parenting is… having the little one myself , yes it is so challenging but also the best period of my life.❤ So I have advice for soon to be parents ( I also said this to my friends how are about to become parents ) soak up every moment and enjoy parenthood, lack of sleep or trying to navigate child through their emotions cannot compare with love and happiness that you receive❤

I have never really commented on ANY videos I've ever watched, not just this channel. Nor do I thumbs up. But what you said at the end is the extreme truth and had me crying. My son just turned 12 and my daughter 9. We were both told at young ages we wouldn't be able to have children or it would be extremely challenging and had to have them young to avoid complications. Then add in all of the variables through life, I had brain surgery, and time becomes so much more precious because you have no idea when that part will end or what will happen tomorrow. So to any parent, or future parent, time is so finite and everything is so psychological as well. It's so hard but so incredible to see something you've created, live outside of you and love them in a way that can NEVER be described. Absorb it. The good and the bad. It's all worth it. Ugh, I'm still crying. It's also why I wrote my book, it's my "vlog" of sorts. All my lessons and trials and also about them. My reasons for continuing my days on this earth and making scary choices that don't just effect me anymore. It's a love like no other. Fierce love. A love you'd do anything for. ❤

Couldn’t agree more, that how fast time goes is the hardest, for me, I’m stuck in a very strange place mentally with this subject, my daughter was born with (and still has) only half a heart, she was given a 14 years of age life expectancy, she is now 13&1/2 years old, and my god, did it fly by, it kind of feels like you’re mourning each stage of your childs life, knowing you’ll never see that version of them again, I’m so incredibly blessed that I have got more years then I ever thought possible with my daughter when she was just a 6 day old baby lying asleep in a hospital post her first of four open heart surgeries, but also, there’s this intense fear, like you’re watching a sand timer start to run out, her childhood is coming to an end faster and faster, and she is changing and growing so quickly now… I’m thankful for every version of this little lady I have been lucky enough to know

  • @jemlouise2241

The way you spoke about the “To-Do list” really hit home for me. Having my first baby, who is currently 4 months old, my life feels like a never ending to do list that I cannot get done.. but the way you spoke about it, made me realise that will always be the case and that’s just life. So instead of fretting about what else I have to get done today, I’m strapping my little one into his stroller and heading out for a walk in the October sunshine instead… the list will still be there tomorrow 🥰
This chapter of yours and Zoe’s life is my favourite yet. You are wonderful parents & the chat at the end about time, shows that in abundance.

That you are so devoted to your daughter and the wonder of her growth every day as her own person is inspiring. She and you are so blessed to have each other.

After just packing a lunch for the last of my six children on his last day of school, this week (In grade 12 in Australia) …I feel Alphie’s comment to my core. So many uniforms, lunches, hats… I will miss every single time.
Children are truly the most treasured gift you will ever be given. ❤️

Ottie is such a sweet little girl. Raising kids is hard but so so rewarding at the same time. You & Zoe are doing such a great job with her. Having a second one will be so easy and still rewarding;. Thanks for sharing with us.

I’m the same age as zoe and somehow my daughter is 13 years old! Everyone around our age is having kids now and it really reminds how little she used to be. Now she’s outgrown me and it makes me proud at how grown up she is, and sad at how quickly it went.

    Honestly loved this ❤
As a mom of a 19 and 20 year old I completely agree with you time is the hardest it speeds up with each child because you are not 1-1 anymore. I love all ages. Each have the most amazing parts and the most challenging just savor each moment with each child and be fully present. You two are fantastic parents and you will see that in her as she continues to grow. ❤

Ok, that was emotional. I have just recently turned 18 and now moved to another island away from my family to go to uni, and I’ve never felt like time has gone so fast before. I do tend to overthink the future, but because I wasn’t an adult yet I used to say to myself that I didn’t need to worry about it, but now that time has come. I’m just waffling on now, but yes, time does fly, and much quicker than it seems at the time.
Love all of your content, it’s really inspiring.
Thank you for always helping others with your content!
    Much love Xx

I get SO emotional when you talk about Ottie growing up and I always imagine what it’s like being in that position. The time is going so quick, it doesn’t even feel that long ago you guys announced you were having a baby, and now she’s walking and talking and is just such a mix of you and Zoe with a sweet personality. you guys are doing great and you’ll be great with the second bub too. I loved this blog; the beach clips were special ❤

Years and years ago on a vlog you spoke about how you workout for your body but we should workout for our minds too. I always remember it ❤
