I like a band similar, from Italy but German speaking. They sing about Südtirol and their songs are SOOO catchy. Unfortunatly they have the same issues with people calling them extremists

I think this is similar to how hip hop is associated with street gangs. Hard rock and some forms of metal are often portrait as extremist, often by people who never really listen to the genre.

Okay, I listened to a few seconds in the middle of the song, and their German is understandable, basically High German with an Southern/Austrian accent, at least in the example you gave me.
