I watched another teachers video on this and I didnt come close. After 5 seconds of watching yours I got it right away. Way better instruction on here. Not everyone can both perform and explain it in detail
Hello, Liam. I figure you'll see my comment here. Taking your beginner course and watched your lesson on making the harmonica speak. And, after searching a while, I found "Mama Blues" by Salty Holmes w its "talking baby." Amazing novelty song.
Hi 00Little00Star00 - I think your privacy settings mean I can't reply to your comment? Thanks for your query. With the extended harmonicas, because you can't cup the whole instrument, you have to make sure your right hand is tight up against the back of the instrument to seal the air before pushing away - it's all in the contrast! Best of luck. Cheers, Liam
I've got a 16 hole/32 tone harmonica, and it's longer (or wider) than the one you're using so it's quite hard to create an airtight seal... any tips on how to go about this? your videos are a great help to me! :)
Hi Liam- fantastic lesson thank you. Is the piece that you're playing at the end just improvised or is it an instrumental? I'd really like know how to do that.I'm hoping you've already done a lesson on this, as I'd be happy to pay for it. Thanks
Hi MHowzey, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That was just improvised around a 12 bar blues theme. I've never tabbed it out I'm afraid. Had to watch the video to remind myself what it was as it was so long ago. Maybe one day! :)
I have really long fingers and my right hand's fingerd smack me in the nose ehile doing this 😅. Is that why you are kind of curling your right hands finger tips into your left hand instead of letting them extend all the esy around?
Liam... Do you reckon I could do this with one hand if I got a harmonica rack? I play with my left only and I don't think I'll be able to use the cup though... lol, I just wanna be able to make the Wah-wah sound but can't cause I only have the use of my left hand, Your Wah-wah sound is grate man!!! :) Do you have a rack you could give it a try for me please? If you could get back to me it would mean a lot to me mate!! Cheers, Joe :)
Hi Joe, sorry, only just seen this. I would recommend working on tongue blocking if you aren't already, and getting a tongue slap sound by putting the tongue on and off the instrument, since I think it'll be hard to recreate this sound with just one hand. I hope you prove me wrong though! And again, sorry for the slow reply! How are you getting on a year on? Cheers, Liam
Great video again! Hey I've watched most of your videos, and you're really helpful. I was wondering if you could do a video tutorial for the solos in Comes a Time - Neil Young (LIVE RUST version) in the future sometime. Thank you
For hand tremolo it's all in the hands, so the harmonica actually makes very little difference. The size and shape of the instrument will, however, affect the grip you will need in order to trap and release the air.
I'd say take the advice... But implement it in your own way. Everyone's hands are difrent you don't have to do exactly what he's doing. Just follow the instructions and find the right position that you can implement his technic in

is it possible that my harmonica just can't do this? or am I just bad?

Thank you, I have practiced a little bit and I see some Improvement so thank you@@Learntheharmonica

I suggest just learning the harmonica on your own. You learn more on your own
