I think it speaks to Sigourney's talent that the role of Ripley was originally created for a man. Also, I loved that Gal Gadot and Brie Larson paid homage to Sigourney at this year's Oscar ceremony, for she unquestionably opened the genre to woman in a manner that had never been done before.

Alien is a masterpiece, and Sigourney did a superb work in it. It's impossible not to remember her as Ellen Ripley in Ridley Scott (Alien) and James Cameron (Aliens) films. This nowadays 'big fish' buying all companies and trying to impose youngsters and ideologies everywhere should do us a favour and let them free again. Creativity should not be restricted by stupidity. Old school films surpass nowadays trash by far, and that is the main reason.
Damn you YT. Now I have to rewatch Alien and Aliens tonight. BTW, Sigourney was only paid $35k for Alien and $1m for Aliens., Alien grossed $185m and Aliens grossed $184m.

She's much cooler than that.
Indubitably.
Concur, the word debonair comes to mind despite her being a woman
This entire interview setup is so oddly plain and pleasant in contrast to the sheer visceral dark horror of the movie, it's like being at your grandmas house and discussing the finer points of Hellraiser over a pot of tea and some shortbread
Probably my all-time favorite actress.
And she's so beautiful
This is an amazing interview - very clean, clear and concise.
❤️👏
Great interview, thanks for posting.
This voice....🥰
I think it speaks to Sigourney's talent that the role of Ripley was originally created for a man. Also, I loved that Gal Gadot and Brie Larson paid homage to Sigourney at this year's Oscar ceremony, for she unquestionably opened the genre to woman in a manner that had never been done before.
The Script left it open if Ripley is a man or woman, same goes for the rest of the cast. But yeah, she did a terrific Job. Very natural acting.
@@vivavideo-videofilmer The script was modified once the decision was made to cast a women. They would have never cast a man to risk his life to save the life of his cat.
@@thebigl156 The earliest draft of the script I've read -- one from when the title was still "STARBEAST" and all the characters were different -- states at the start that the cast of characters could be any gender. Said script was written well before Weaver was brought on for a screentest, so Ripley's gender wasn't decided upon because of Weaver - Ripley wasn't even a character in the early scripts.
@@dixonj41 I'm going on what Weaver said when she was promoting Aliens and not why she would have lied about such a detail. I also don't believe that any filmmaker in the late seventies would have a cast a man to risk his life to save his cat.
@@thebigl156 Weaver has also said that the chest-burster scene in the first film was all done in one take with none of the cast knowing what was going to happen. I like Sigourney, but she has lied for the sake of creating hype before.
D quality of d video is stunningly good. Thanx 4 this gem 👌
I really liked the Bobbie interview style. It was slow paced with natural pauses as things happened. Those, along with the technical feedback and operational activities make it far more genuine and engaging.
7:45 it was great after 50 years she dont change
Little did she know that she was becoming an Icon figure for a classic movie.
Sigurney I have been born in 1979 and alien is my best move ever and Aliens your character is best
female performance ever seen thank you
It is fascinating to see how these are done.
My first and only movie that I honestly left frightened in that famous scene when I was a kid. I just couldn't take the suspense any longer. Truly ground breaking movie when it came out. Love Sigourney and a lot of her other movies. Great memorable interview here.
awesome, thanks for posting this
Alien is a masterpiece, and Sigourney did a superb work in it.
What a beautiful person.
she was so great as Diane Fossey & the ghostbuster gate keeper love interest
OMG im just gushing shes so gorgeous gad shes so charismatic...just wow.
Great interview, great actress!
Damn you YT. Now I have to rewatch Alien and Aliens tonight.
BTW, Sigourney was only paid $35k for Alien and $1m for Aliens., Alien grossed $185m and Aliens grossed $184m.
So basically
150k in todays money for alien
2.8 mill in todays money for aliens
Definitely underpaid
And 185 mill in 1979 is roughly 790 million in todays money for alien
And 184 mill in 1986 is roughly 520 mlll in todays money for aliens
Very interesting....i am a great Alien Fan and also fan of Sigourney, very interesting footage.....thx uploading and best regards from Germany
Sigourney Weaver is just one of those actors that has "something" about them, a bit like Cate Blanchett or Susan Sarandon.
Back when female protagonist heroes were super fuckin badass. Love the whole cast of Alien but our sole survivor takes the cake!
Verdade hoje personagens femininos de ação são tão mal escritas
But, but, empowered women were invented by woke people just in the last year or two!

Fantastic actor. She was so cool 🙂
Beauty, poise, class and that voice !
One of a kind
She is such a class act.
Amazing actress, and a beautiful lady.
Naturally beautiful and eloquent lady
Clearly a very intelligent and well-educated woman and a great actor.
Oh I love her.
People forget how frightening this movie was. It was revolutionary for science fiction and introduced millions of people to a new genre.
She has very refined manners.
Mr. Scott knew who he had. He knew she would make the novie!!
What an amazing woman. Over six foot tall too. So damn cool.
She is indeed quite tall for an American woman, but she never was over six foot tall. In an 1989 interview in The Dallas Morning News, she said: "I am 5 foot 11 inches tall", which is around 180 cm. She is currently 5ft 10 1/4 tall (=178.4 cm).

Lot of love to Sigourney. Great actress on any role. She steblished an icon for all generations. A true Heroin for ages. An heroin you can believe because she´s not perfect. She´s wonderfully human.
Shes so COOL!
I ruined the day. It burns my eyes. I read that it is a characteristic of some eyes that they suddenly light up. Ever since I admired Sigourney. And didn't I notice the narrowing of her eyes until now? Shines as they say: the sun shines through the clouds. I have loved the sun ever since. Made peace with the day. This was also given by Sigourney's mysterious power. Eternal May and June. Sigourney is blooming spring and summer.
What a beautiful woman ♀️👠
I always fancied her.
Sigourney is a Brilliant Actress.
Bobbie is Magnificent.
People don’t interview like this anymore. Today the interview is all about the celebrity of it all.
Perhaps the most powerful woman ever portrayed on screen.
She’s what you call a “classic beauty” ☺️🤷♂️🤦♂️💯
